Before securing the role of Data on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," actor Brent Spiner was perhaps most widely recognized for his recurring role as Bob Wheeler on the sitcom "Night Court." He also had one-shot appearances on various other hit TV shows like "Tales from the Darkside," "The Paper Chase," and "Ryan's Hope." He also had a bit part in the excellent cult musical "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains" and was one of the background students in "Grease 2." Spiner had been acting in Broadway productions throughout the 1970s.
Data was a boon to his career, making him a household name, and giving him a role that he would continue to revisit for decades. Spiner has always felt ambivalent about Data, however, loving the fame, but resenting how he had been typecast. He has since referred to Data as a double-edged sword. That said, his post-"Star Trek...

Throughout his Star Trek career, Brent Spiner has proven himself as one of the franchise's most versatile actors by portraying several different androids beyond Star Trek: The Next Generation's Lt. Commander Data. Data was created by Dr. Noonien Soong (also portrayed by Brent Spiner), a cyberneticist who built several androids over the course of his life. Brent not only portrayed Data and his creator, but Spiner also portrayed every other Soong android that has appeared on Star Trek, including Data's evil twin brother, Lore.
Brent Spiner began acting in the late 1970s and is most well-known for his portrayal of Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation. In total, Spiner has portrayed versions of three different androids, as well as four different members of the Soong family. Spiner is also known for playing Dr. Brakish Okun in Independence Day and Independence Day: Resurgence, and Bob Wheeler in the original Night Court and the 2023 reboot.

Bob Hearts Abishola season 6 is not confirmed, as season 5 was announced as the series finale. 11 main Bob Hearts Abishola main cast members were downgraded to recurring in season 5, which didn't bode well for the sitcom's future. Co-creator Gina Yashere believes the cancelation speaks to TV studios' lack of commitment to diverse productions.
Bob Hearts Abishola season 6 is the hoped-for continuation of the CBS sitcom that finished its fifth season on May 6, 2024. Starring Billy Gardell, famous for leading the cast of Mike and Molly, and Folake Olowofoyeku of Transparent, Bob Hearts Abishola is about divorced sock company owner Bob Wheeler (Gardell) who falls head over heels in love with his nurse, Nigerian-born Abishola Bolatito Doyinsola Oluwatoyin (Olowofoyeku), after he suffers a stress-induced heart attack. Actor Brent Spiner's most visible acting role was probably Data, the android lieutenant commander on "Star Trek: The Next Generation." As Data, Spiner appeared in 176 episodes of "Next Generation," in the four spin-off movies, and in five episodes of "Star Trek: Picard." He also appeared on "Picard" as a new amalgam android character, as well as multiple members of the Soong family throughout various "Star Trek" shows. For an actor who was initially cast as an emotionless being, Spiner certainly played some of the franchise's more dramatic characters.
Spiner has always expressed a little ambivalence toward Data. While he certainly appreciates the money and fame brought to him by the role, Spiner felt that "Star Trek" might have robbed him of the ability to play a wide variety of parts. He feared casting agents would look at him and be unable to look past his "Star Trek" android.

NBC took a big swing in 2023 in not only reviving Night Court but in bringing it back with the aim of returning to the classic sitcom style.
Seriously, how long has it been since we've heard a proper laugh track? An entire generation of TV viewers has never experienced the joy of a well-timed pratfall shared with a hundred faceless "live studio audience" members. It's a darned shame, it is.
That big swing connected with audiences and ratings, and NBC renewed the fledgling series a scant few weeks after its premiere in January. But with that jaw-dropping, game-changer finale, where will they go with Season 2?
Warning: Spoilers ahead for Night Court Season 1 Episode 16.
With the universal agreement that John Laroquette is the comedic foundation upon which the revival is built, it came as a shock on the finale when he follows through on his intention to leave Manhattan for a judgeship in Louisiana.

Billy Gardell, who plays Bob Wheeler on the CBS sitcom Bob Hearts Abishola, has lost an incredible 150 pounds since the start of the pandemic and has “found peace” with himself. Chatting to Entertainment Tonight‘s Kevin Frazier on the set of his popular CBS sitcom, Gardell explained that he “floats between 205 [pounds] and 210 [pounds],” adding that “self-care is important, and I think I finally got there.” Gardwell, who is known for his roles as Mike Biggs on Mike & Molly and the recurring part of Lyle Winkler on Sullivan & Son, once weighed over 370 pounds. In 2022, he was encouraged to undergo bariatric weight loss surgery to minimize his risk Covid risk. Diligent Bob Wheeler (Billy Gardell) shocks everyone, especially his wife, nurse and med student Abishola (Folake Olowofoyeku), by walking out of his 30-year job as boss of the family sock company, MaxDot, in the Bob Hearts Abishola Season 4 premiere, coming September 19 to CBS. “Abishola married a hardworking businessman. She’s not sure that she knows who he is anymore,” says executive producer Gina Yashere, who plays mischievous Kemi, her hospital colleague. Bob chooses early retirement after learning that his sister Christina (Maribeth Monroe) poached his handpicked successor, Goodwin (Bayo Akinfemi), for her competing startup, Toesy Woesies. Abishola’s family has drama too. She thinks her stubborn mom Ebunoluwa (Saidah Arrika Ekulona) — who’s still married to a man back in Nigeria — is getting too close to Pastor Falade (Jonathan Adams). Teases Yashere, “Abishola looks at ways to stop it.” Bob Hearts Abishola, Season 4 Premiere, Monday, September 19, 8:30/7:30c, CBS...
