Angelina Hong passionately loved the arts at an early age. Her
childhood was spent taking ballet, jazz and tap dance lessons, and she
enjoyed playing the violin, flute, saxophone, and piano. She also loved
to draw and paint.
Growing up, she was a voracious bookworm. Angelina fell in love with words and the power of storytelling, and originally dreamed of a career as a writer. Her talent and ambition won her a prestigious journalism fellowship at ABC-TV in New York City during her junior year of college.
Her thirst for adventure led to a year studying in Paris. Angelina studied art, architecture, and the French language at Sorbonne University. While abroad, she traveled extensively through Europe. She graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from Colgate University in upstate New York.
Right after college, she moved to New York City. Angelina started her career as an intern at Entertainment Weekly magazine, and quickly moved on to become the associate fashion segment producer for Extra. She was honored to be featured in Cosmopolitan magazine in an article about successful college graduates. While she enjoyed covering fashion and interviewing celebrities, she soon felt the urge to be more creative.
Angelina continued producing during the day, and began taking acting classes at night at the highly acclaimed William Esper Studio. The experience was deeply inspiring and transformational. After completing the 2 year Meisner program at the studio, she chose to follow her heart and pursue acting full time. Since then, she has worked on many diverse and interesting projects in film and television, including roles on "Sex & The City", "Grey's Anatomy", and most recently, the feature film "Going Down In La-La Land", which won 3 Audience Awards for Best Film and numerous awards worldwide.
While Angelina will always be a New Yorker at heart, she now happily lives by the beach in Venice, California. In her free time, she can be found bike riding by the Pacific Ocean, cooking up a feast, practicing yoga and Pilates, traveling the world, dancing up a storm, and laughing her head off with family and friends. Angelina recently took some time off to have a beautiful baby girl. She feels grateful and blessed to have the freedom to follow her dreams while raising a family, and looks forward to continued growth and success in the future.
