Welcome back to The Hollywood Reporter's weekly DC TV Watch, a rundown of all things DC Comics on the small screen. Every Saturday, we round up the major twists, epic fights, new mysteries and anything else that goes down on The CW's Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl and Black Lightning and Fox's Gotham. This week, Gotham focused on an old case and a new alliance. Note: Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash and Black Lightning did not air new episodes this week.

Even though we’re all pretty geeked for what’s sure to be a pivotal episode of Gotham airing later this evening, “Ace Chemicals,” the time will soon come for us to turn our attention toward next week’s installment. And from what we can tell, it’ll live up to its title, that being “Nothing’s Shocking.”
For starters, it features the debut of the Ventriloquist and Scarface, whom we were led to believe were cut from the final season. Then again, executive producer John Stephens and company probably found a way to shoehorn the inseparable duo into the saga once they were granted an additional two episodes.
No matter how you slice it, this is the first time we’re seeing them in live action – and that’s pretty exciting, if you were to ask me. But strangely enough, the actor being used for the Ventriloquist is that of Andrew Sellon,...

Gotham is finally coming to an end with its fifth and final season. After a wobbly start, it’s been a wild, weird and totally unpredictable rollercoaster ride through a bizarre version of Batman’s early years. Fans already knew that the final season wouldn’t be aired until 2019, but we now have an exact date courtesy of Gotham Hub’s Twitter account: March 15th, 2019 (though a second tweet points out that this may change).
In keeping with its absurdly ambitions and kind of bonkers storytelling, season 5 will apparently mash up the classic Batman storyline No Man’s Land with elements taken from Frank Miller’s Year One and Scott Snyder’s Zero Year. This means we can expect a cataclysmic earthquake to hit Gotham, roughly coinciding with Bruce Wayne’s first outings in full costume. Expect teething trouble for the newbie hero combined with the chaos of shattered streets...

For Fox’s celebrated Gotham series, this is it – the beginning of the end.
The show’s fifth and final season is currently on course for a premiere sometime in 2019, and when it does arrive, it’ll seemingly have viewers sweating over the fate(s) of their favorite character(s), after Andrew Sellon (Mr. Penn) went on record to warn fans that, this time around, no one is safe.
That’s unnerving in and of itself, but over on Twitter, a now-deleted post from writer-producer Tze Chun strongly hinted at the advent of another Joker. First spotted by ComicBook.com, the tweet featured an up-close shot of a Gotham season 5 script with the words “Ace Chemicals” plastered on the front, strongly hinting at the Joker’s famous origin story.
Could it be that the Fox drama is about to unveil another Clown Prince of Crime before its curtain call?

People of Gotham: hold onto your butts, for season 5 is shaping up to be one for the ages.
Pegged to arrive in the early stages of 2019, the show’s fifth and final installment seemingly won’t think twice about bringing the axe down on some of our on-screen favorites, after series star Andrew Sellon warned viewers that, in Gotham season 5, “no one is safe.” Yikes.
Sellon sat down with Bam Smack Pow (h/t ComicBook.com) to discuss the show’s forthcoming curtain call, and why it’ll strive to keep everyone on their toes as it begins to close the book on this incredible Batman prequel series. We’re in No Man’s Land now, folks, and it’s a war out there.
If you thought Gotham was a tough town before, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. No Man’s Land is literally a war zone, and absolutely no one is safe.
