Giving the deluxe version of superstar DJ and producer David Guetta’s new album a spin, it soon becomes clear why previously released promo singles “Bad” and”‘Shot Me Down” are kept apart from the main body of Listen and repackaged as bonus tracks.
Inspired by Cher’s “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down),” later covered by Nancy Sinatra and then pushed into peoples’ hearts via Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Volume 1 – the Frenchman gives the classic song a new twist. Alongside Skylar Grey, “Shot Me Down” sees the decades-old track enveloped by Guetta’s rampant, pulsating club sounds for a modern, worthwhile remake. Not content with hooking up with Grey again on the darker, primal “Rise,” “Bad” featuring Showtek and Vassy, also races towards the dance floor with its thumping bassline and laser sharp synths.
In short, the handful of cuts stuck onto the end of Listen are...

For now, though, check out the entire tracklist for David Guetta‘s Listen below and let us know which collaboration you’re most looking forward to.
1. Dangerous feat. Sam Martin 2. What I Did For Love feat.

Got To Dance is about to kick off its finals week, so it's just as well we have a bunch of semi-finalists now, isn't it? The first team who'll be battling it out for a place in the final will be Ashley Banjo's contestants, who'll take to Earl's Court on Monday, August 25.
"This year's new format has meant that I am mentoring a contemporary group and even a couple of ballet dancers," Banjo said. "It has brought a whole new dynamic, but unlike the other judges I know how it feels - I have been in the exact same place as the contestants and had to work my way up with my dance group.
"It's nerve-wracking and a big responsibility being a mentor. There is so much talent and Got To Dance is one of those shows that's all about talent."
So who is on Ashley Banjo's team?...

The Artful Roger: A Thank You To Roger Ebert
The mind rarely works in linear fashion, and I suspect mine may even be more chaotic than most. That item pinballed around the ol’ noggin, and, somewhere in all that bouncing here and there, triggered a bit of nostalgia. Probably because I was working on the piece during Oscar week, the mention of Ebert reminded me that there had been a time when this would’ve been the point in the year I’d be looking forward to the annual “If We Gave Out the Oscars” (or something like that) show done by Ebert along with his on-screen partner of nearly two dozen years,...

Reza Safinia, a multi-instrumentalist composer raised on Barry White, Michael Jackson, and Quincy Jones Productions, has worked in the music industry producing and engineering records for artists from Kylie Minogue to Ms Dynamite. Recently, however, he has begun composing for film and has managed to incorporate his passion for textured, electronic music into the cinematic realm. This is apparent in his most recent film Snap, which premiered this year at SXSW and features a primarily dubstep-driven score. Safinia was kind enough to talk to us about his journey from record producer to film composer and how electronic music has shaped the art of film scoring.

DJ Fresh is a Dubstep and Drum n’ Bass producer who is the only artist to have both a Dubstep and DnB single go to number 1. That is quite an achievement. He has released two albums prior to Nextlevelism called Kryptonite and Escape from Planet Monday. So far there have been four singles released from this third instalment from Fresh and there might be even more to come.
Unless you have been under a rock in a hole with no access to sound for the past year and a bit, you will know his tracks called Louder, Hot Right Now, The Power and The Feeling. These were oddly enough his first four singles from this album. Hot Right Now was the catapult for Rita Ora to be noticed after she did the vocals for Fresh on his second single. Speaking to The Sun, Barlow explained: "I think this is a brilliant project.
