The Oscilloscope Laboratories docu-thriller The Infiltrators is hitting virtual cinemas today before making its way to on-demand and digital June 2. The virtual release is becoming a staple for many film titles as it allows audiences to purchase film tickets through a theater’s website and, in turn, helps continue support of theaters that have been closed due to Covid-19.
Directed by Alex Rivera and Cristina Ibarra, the film made its world premiere last year at the Sundance Film Festival where it the won the Next Section Audience Award. The hybrid pic blends feature filmmaking, re-enactments of real-life events and documentary footage to tell the true story of young undocumented immigrants who are intentionally detained by Border Patrol and thrown into a for-profit detention center.

"No one knows how this will all end." Oscilloscope Labs has debuted the official trailer for an acclaimed indie documentary-feature hybrid titled The Infiltrators, that first premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. It won the Next Audience Award & Best of Next award, and went on to pick up a few more prizes including the Rogue Award as the Ashland Film Festival. The film is about a rag-tag group of undocumented youth - known as "DREAMers" - that deliberately get detained by the Us Border Patrol in order to infiltrate a shadowy, for-profit detention center. By weaving together documentary footage of the real infiltrators with re-enactments of the events inside the detention center, The Infiltrators tells an incredible and thrilling true story in a genre-defying new cinematic language. Starring Maynor Alvarado, Chelsea Rendon, Manuel Uriza, Juan Gabriel Pareja, and Vik Sahay. Looks like a vitally important and rousing, inspiring film. Here's...

The Infiltrators is a very timely docu-thriller that tells the true story of young immigrants who get detained by Border Patrol, and put in a shadowy for-profit detention center — on purpose. Marco (Maynor Alvarado) and Viri (Vida‘s Chelsea Rendon) are members of the National Immigrant Youth Alliance, a group of radical Dreamers who are on a mission to stop deportations. And the best place to stop deportations, they believe, is in detention. However, when they try to pull off a prison break in reverse,...

The Walking Dead continues on its one show mission to reward its loyal viewers by nose-diving straight into the action yet again this week. It begs the question: how long will this battle-focused run continue? Regardless, for now let’s enjoy it whilst it last.
We begin with an inspired speech by the ever-more-lovable King Ezekiel (Khary Payton). His rallying cry claiming that none of his men shall die is quite a bold statement in this universe…
We then follow Ezekiel, his men and Carol (Melissa McBride) as they continue on with their mission from the last episode. With their stealth mission compromised they must use some smart tactics to takeover The Savior’s compounds they come across. These tactics are demonstrated nicely when Ezekiel and a group of his soldiers are seemingly captured by a sneaky band of...

Last week The Walking Dead dropped us almost immediately into the action, and we were very thankful for it. This week, surprisingly, things have been dialled up a notch as the action, and Rick’s plan, continue to unfold. The majority of the episode works like a quadriptych with four separate assaults intercutting throughout the majority of the runtime. And it should be stated from the off that the show does this very well.
Firstly, we have an assault on one of The Savior’s munitions bases led by Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Eric (Jordan Woods-Robinson). Beginning with a group of the allied communities arriving in their Diy-style armoured cars and opening fire on some unsuspecting Saviors, who are loading a shipment of weapons, through strategic holes in the makeshift shields. From there an all-out fire fight erupts. Many Saviors die and quite a few of the allied forces too,...

The Walking Dead season 8, episode 2, “The Damned” dropped a massive surprise – the return of Morales, a character not seen since the penultimate episode of season 1! Fans have often wondered what happened to the former family man in the years since he left Atlanta and now, we finally know.
But how did this unlikely return come about? Actor Juan Gabriel Pareja explained to EW that he was initially contacted by The Walking Dead‘s casting people a whole two months before he got the call confirming his return. During the wait, Pareja decided to do something constructive with his time and hit the gym pretty hard.
“I think it might have been in April, I got a call from the casting officers up in Canada reaching out and basically testing the waters to see if there would be any interest on my part to return to the show. And as I...

Right now, Rick just hopes to make it through to “The Walking Dead” Episode 804. Last night, Andrew Lincoln’s character was reunited with old ally Morales (Juan Gabriel Pareja) — but it wasn’t a happy reconciliation. In a teaser for this coming Sunday’s hour, Morales’ gun to Rick’s ever-bloody face makes it seem like the two won’t be sharing rations and reminiscing about the good-old (early zombie apocalypse) days any time soon. And it was in one of these strongholds that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) encountered one hell of a surprise: an old pal from his group of survivors named Morales (Juan Gabriel Pareja). You’ll be forgiven if you don’t remember him — Morales hasn’t been on “The Walking Dead” since the first season. He’s notable as a.

It dawned on me this week that, despite the widespread chaos and devastation depicted in the first few episodes of "The Walking Dead," we'd yet to actually see anyone die. That all changed in "Vatos," and that trend was carried on in this week's episode, "Wildfire." At this point, readers of Robert Kirkman's graphic novel series have accepted that they're essentially abandoning chunks of whole cloth from the storyline, and frankly I'm perfectly Ok with that, provided that this new direction promises new and interesting ideas. "Wildfire" definitely showed some promise, but was also a bit of a puzzler.
We pick up shortly after the rampage that closed out "Vatos," with the group mourning their losses and at odds about what to do next. Andrea is near catatonic, holding vigil over the body of her sister Amy, while various other group members try to both console her and get...

Not everything is a happy family reunion on "The Walking Dead's" third episode, titled "Tell It to the Frogs," which airs Sunday, Nov. 14 on AMC.
Spoilers -- Really, watch Episode 2 already.
Remember Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker), the uh, jerk who started beating up T-Dog (IronE Singleton) on the rooftop in Atlanta and then got left behind because the keys to his shackles got lost? Well, he's missed when the team returns to camp too. Andrea (Laurie Holden) and Morales (Juan Gabriel Pareja) aren't the only ones who had family back at the camp.
Merle's brother Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) is very similar to Merle in temperament, if you know what we mean. Let's just say he's a little rough around the edges ... and maybe a little volatile. The upside of Daryl is that he's a good hunter and provides food -- even if it's just squirrels he's caught -- for the camp.
