Dennis Hauck's twisty noir "Too Late" takes the classic logline of a "a woman in trouble" to Los Angeles, and to dizzying cinematic heights in beautiful 35mm in five scenes, each of which is one long 20-minute take. John Hawkes plays your archetypal hardboiled gumshoe, a lost man who trails a missing person through the seedy wilds of the city, and into the night. Writer/director Hauck's use of 35mm shapes the film's lived-in texture, transporting us to a Los Angeles that feels family but also like a dream place that could only exist in the movies. "That's all I've ever shot on," said Hauck in a phone interview. How to Make It in America’s Victor Rasuk, 29, has joined the cast of Fifty Shades of Grey to play the part of José Rodriguez, a classmate and friend of Anastasia Steele, EW confirmed Thursday.
If we’re talking Twilight, José is sort of the Jacob to Christian Grey’s Edward. Poor fellow.
Deadline first reported the news of Rasuk’s casting in director Sam Taylor-Johnson’s big screen adaptation of E L James’ racy novel, which stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia, and Luke Grimes as Elliot Grey. Jamie Dornan has also reportedly been cast as Christian, but Universal and...

Previously-commenced shooting be damned, Jobs continues to expand its (surprisingly decent) cast with reckless abandon. Continuing such a surprising amount of decency, according to Variety, are J.K. Simmons, Kevin Dunn (Transformers), Elden Henson (Déjà Vu), Victor Rasuk (Che, Being Flynn), Lenny Jacobson (Celeste and Jesse Forever), and Giles Matthey (True Blood).
In order, Simmons will appear as Arthur Rock, a venture capitalist who took a chance on Apple; Dunn will be seen as the company’s chairman, Gil Amelio; Henson has been locked to play an Apple developer, Andy Hertzfeld; Rasuk is Bill Fernandez, the first Apple employee and one of their user interface architects; Jacobson has landed the part of Burrell Smith, an engineer; and Matthey has some big shoes to fill Jonathan Ive, the designer of the iPod.
Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) has been directing the film for about a month now, with, as I’m sure you know,...

PBS has announced that it will air a new, "unflinching" documentary about the late Appple co-founder Steve Jobs, who died three weeks ago. 'Steve Jobs -- One Last Thing' will air Wednesday, Nov. 2 as part of a night devoted to science and technology exploration.
In what's sure to stoke controversy in some quarters, PBS says 'One Last Thing' takes "an unflinching look at Jobs's difficult, controlling disposition, and offers unique insights into what made him tick. While there has been near-universal agreement that Steve Jobs was a great innovator in business and technology, One Last Thing looks into why he was so great. What were the influences that shaped his character? What drove him from such humble beginnings to the heights of success?"
The documentary features interviews with Apple insiders Steve Wozniak, Ronald Wayne and Dean Hovey, as well as Bill Fernandez, who introduced Jobs and Wozniak in Sunnyvale,...
