Tubi, Fox Corp.’s ad-supported streaming service, recruited ad-sales veteran Jeff Lucas as chief revenue officer.
Lucas takes over the role from former Tubi Cro Mark Rotblat, who will remain with Fox Corp. focusing on adRise, the company’s distribution and monetization platform for connected TVs. At Tubi, Lucas will report to Jeff Collins, president of advertising sales for Fox Corp.
Most recently, Lucas was chief revenue officer at Firework, a New York-based video commerce platform with more than 1,000 clients across 37 countries. Before that, he was head of North America sales and global client solutions at Verizon Media. From 2016-18, he was VP and global head of sales for Snapchat parent company Snap.
Prior to that, Lucas led sales and marketing for all of Viacom’s media networks, including MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon, and before that served as president, advertising sales and marketing at NBCUniversal’s cable group.

As streaming services fight for subscribers in an oversaturated industry, standing out can be difficult. There are so many options that it has become increasingly difficult to decide what streaming services to use. The streaming service debuted in Nielsen’s The Gauge Total TV and Streaming Snapshot for February. The Gauge, which monitors monthly TV and streaming usage in the United States, reports that Tubi had 1% of all TV watching minutes, above Pluto’s 0.7% ; other Fast streaming services fell below those totals and therefore were not listed.

More than two years into its run at Fox Corp., Tubi is ramping up in original programming, planning 100 new film and TV titles over the next year as viewership continues to rise.
The programming push was one of the central messages of the streaming service’s NewFronts presentation this evening in New York.
Since being acquired in 2020 for 440 million, the free, ad-supported streaming service has been increasingly integrated into Fox’s operations and has more than doubled its viewership. It offers streaming access after linear premiere for many of the top shows on the Fox broadcast network, including ratings kingpin The Masked Singer. It also is tapping into two corporate cousins for originals: TMZ and animated specialist Bento Box Entertainment. The Fox-owned streaming outlet Tubi plans to expand its relationship with Nielsen to help advertisers measure viewing of Tubi programming across a wider array of venues, a critical demand that has increased from Madison Avenue as more viewing takes place via mobile and broadband.
Tubi plans to utilize Nielsn’s Digital Ad Ratings to expand coverage of streaming devices, including computer, mobile and connected TV. The company said the expanded pact represents ” a step towards increased industry coverage” provided by Nielsen One, a new product being developed by the measurement giant that will track viewership acorss linear and digital screens and is expected to be made more widely available to the market by the end of 2022.
