Jeopardy! fans will surely be watching October 31’s episode, as the quiz show airs every weeknight including holidays. But why stop there? True heads can celebrate Halloween in style by dressing up as their favorite contestant to watch the show, then proceed to accost friends, family, or trick-or-treaters by saying “What’s” non-stop as Matt Amodio. Here’s a DIY guide on how to dress like all-time favorite champions with inspiration from fans, and from Sam Buttrey. Sam Buttrey On Thursday, Buttrey instructed true “Buttheads” on how to “Bring it” this Halloween in a video posted to the quiz show’s Instagram. Buttrey took center stage and guided fans on how to dress up — as himself. The costume is as follows: “Your hair has got to be gray, I dye my hair to look older, and it seems to be working,” he advised in the clip. The others were: “Big goofy glasses,...

Jeopardy! viewers would have to be asleep on the sofa to not know the quiz show’s cardinal rule and central premise: all answers must be phrased in the form of a question. But what’s the protocol when a correct response is already phrased that way? Say the clue is seeking “Who Is Afraid of Virginia Wolfe?”. Does a contestant have to start with “What Is: Who Is”? Sounds questionable. This situation isn’t regularly addressed on-air by host Ken Jennings as it’s an irregular occurrence. On Friday (October 11), a fan began a thread in the Jeopardy! Subreddit wondering just that. “Let’s say the board says ‘This book series features a hidden stripped protagonist’, and someone just says ‘Where’s Waldo’ and not ‘What is Where’s Waldo’, would they accept it?” they wrote. “Since it’s in the ...

Jeopardy! fans are not happy with some of the questions lately on the show. It seems that the show is bringing in more current more modern pop culture questions, which has upset people preferring the classic historical questions of the Alex Trebek era.
Here is what has fans upset now about the recent Jeopardy! questions.
Fans Complaining About Jeopardy! Slang Clues
This past week on Jeopardy!, there was a question that has many fans lamenting the loss of “serious” questions on the show. While many of the questions are still about obscure historical trivia bits, lately it has tried to mix things up with some more recent modern-day clues. That happened on Thursday.

Coming into the sixth night of Jeopardy! Masters Season 2, there were a couple of foregone conclusions: Victoria Groce (with 13 match points) and Yogesh Raut (with 10) were already qualified to play in the semifinals; unless James Holzhauer (who had 6) got shut out again, he was likely to advance as well; it was bound to be a close contest between Amy Schneider and Mattea Roach (also 5) for that fourth spot; and Matt Amodio (with just 1 single match point) had zero chance of playing past Wednesday night’s games. So how did the sextet of champions fare in the final night of Masters games? Here’s a look at the highlights. Game Eleven Raut, Holzhauer, and Amodio were matched up for their final “regular” game of this season, but, as mentioned above, the latter was necessarily going to come in sixth (still taking home a healthy $50k prize for his troubles), and Holzhauer...

Game Nine Groce added to her tournament lead in the first game of the evening as she faced off against Jeopardy! super-champ Matt Amodio and reigning Masters champion James Holzhauer. The final boss met his match(es) on Friday night’s edition of Jeopardy! Masters. James Holzhauer, for the first time in the competition so far, walked away empty-handed from the fourth night of competition after facing the two frontrunners of Season 2 together in what can only be described as a very competitive Game 8. Game Seven This match-up put the three lowest-scoring contestants coming into the evening together: Matt Amodio, Amy Schneider, and Mattea Roach, each of whom had just one match point to show for the previous three nights of competition. At the start of Jeopardy! Masters Season 2, Season 1 champ James Holzhauer declared that he was the “final boss” of the entire competition, but so far, it’s been the Victoria Groce show, through and through. In the third night of competition — for Games 5 and 6 on Wednesday, May 8 — Groce once again took the lead and held it. And although it wasn’t a runaway this time (for the first time in Masters‘ second season so far), she still had a commanding performance. So is Victoria Groce the new “final boss” of this season? Well, there’s still a lot of gameplay to go, but she’s off to a good start. Coming into the night, the tallies of match powers were: Victoria Groce in 1st place with 6, James Holzhauer in 2nd place with 4, Yogesh Raut in third place with 4 (because of the tiebreaker being the number of correct responses), Matt Amodio...

Jeopardy! super-champ Amy Schneider is ready to respond head-on to criticism about her inclusion in the current Masters tournament. Season 2 of Jeopardy! Masters kicked off last week with six of the game’s most elite players battling it out for the coveted title and $500,000 grand prize. Those competing include reigning Masters champ James Holzhauer, last year’s runners-up Matt Amodio & Mattea Roach, 2024 Tournament of Champions winner Yogesh Raut, and Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament winner Victoria Groce. The sixth and final spot went to Schneider as a Producers’ Pick, despite placing fifth in Masters Season 1 and losing the Jit! to Groce. Some fans felt the spot should have gone to someone else who hasn’t had as many opportunities as Schneider. “We just saw her in Jit, whats the point if she can lose that and just move on anyways,” said one commenter on the Jeopardy! Reddit forum when the line-up was first announced.

Jeopardy! Masters viewers are wondering if host Ken Jennings unintentionally revealed some shocking news on Wednesday’s (May 1) episode when he implied ABC’s The Chase had been canceled. Fans also picked up on Jennings’ wording and took to social media to share their concerns. “Is The Chase cancelled or not?...

Let’s revisit all the major highlights from Games 1 and 2 of Jeopardy! Jeopardy! super-champ Matt Amodio has come to the defense of a fellow contestant who lost Tuesday’s (April 16) game after an unfortunate Daily Double blunder. On Tuesday’s episode, Eric Reimund, a substitute teacher originally from Collegeville, Pennsylvania, took on Veronica Tabor, a study abroad advisor from Ann Arbor, Michigan, and reigning champion Alison Betts, who at that point had won three consecutive games. Reimund gave Betts a run for her money, answering multiple clues correctly and finding both Daily Doubles during the Double Jeopardy! round. However, he found himself having to rebuild his score after he forgot to phrase his (correct) answer in the form of a question. Amodio took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts on the brutal mistake, noting that the pressure can get to you under the bright lights. He also used the moment to explain the unusual strategy he adopted during his 38-game winning streak.

While the 40-game winner is a fan favorite, she had just competed in the Jit!, where she finished as runner-up. Many fans felt this should have disqualified her from Masters. “Honestly not a fan of this decision,” wrote one fan on the Jeopardy! Reddit forum. “We just saw her in Jit,...
