Mackenzie Standifer and Ryan Edwards are moving forward with their divorce, but they clearly don’t trust each other to keep things civil. Early this month, Standifer and Edwards faced off in a Tennessee courtroom regarding a temporary restraining order. The former Teen Mom Og star and his estranged wife have been ordered to go no contact.
Mackenzie Standifer and Ryan Edwards were ordered to stay away from each other by a Tennessee judge
Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer have been ordered to keep their distance. In early April, a Tennessee judge signed a mutual restraining order for the couple as their divorce case moves forward. The decision came after Standifer requested a restraining order after Edwards sent menacing messages following a meetup at her home. Standifer had an earlier restraining order against her soon-to-be-ex.
While Standifer requested a restraining order against her estranged husband in March 2024, that original request was tossed out.

The internet has gone Gaga for Harley Quinn in “Joker: Folie à Deux.”
As a last-minute Valentine’s Day gift, writer-director Todd Phillips released the first image of Stefani Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, in character as Harleen Quinzel, better known as Harley Quinn. The great DC character will likely play a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, where she falls in love with “Mr. J.”, Joaquin Phoenix returning to his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck (better known as Joker).
Gaga’s Harley, based on this image, doesn’t have any of the white makeup or domino mask, but has her hair pulled back in a forceful manner and has Quite an extreme puss on her face. She’s staring right into Fleck’s eyes who, in harsh lighting, kinda looks like Robin Williams a little, doesn’t he?

The Joker War rages on in Gotham, and ahead of the release of Batman: The Joker War Zone, DC shared new information about the tie-in book’s contents. Guess what that means? If you guessed “James Stokoe drawing a Clownhunter story”, please leave next Wednesday’s Powerball numbers in the comments.
The 48-page book has five announced stories. The first looks at Poison Ivy’s return to Gotham (which happened in Batman #98). It’s called “Ashes of Eden,” written by Sam Johns and drawn by Laura Braga (Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica). As you can see from the preview pages, Braga has a vaguely Amanda Conner feel to her art that should play well in such an exaggerated setting.
The second story is the aforementioned Clownhunter feature, by regular Batman writer and Joker War mastermind James Tynion IV and world renowned Xenomorph artist James Stokoe, and it’s just ridiculous.

DC Comics' "Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey" #2, available June 23, 2020, is written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner, with illustrations by Conner and covers by Conner and Arthur Adams:
"...over the course of her sleazy career, 'Harley Quinn' has met pretty much every super-villain who ever worked in 'Gotham City'. Some hate her. Some love her. But none of that's gonna' matter once they see how many zeroes there are on the bounty 'The Joker' is offering for her demise.
"Meanwhile, 'Cassandra Cain' finds herself in the unenviable position of being Harley Quinn’s bodyguard, but could this be her opportunity to learn a little about loosening up? If she's currently wound too tight, then just sit next to 'Auntie Harley'. She's got more than her share of loose screws..."

As stay-at-home orders started to crash over the world at the end of March, Diamond Comics Distributors announced that it would be suspending shipping of new books. Diamond has been functioning essentially as a monopoly for years, so this move meant, for all intents and purposes, the end of new comics releases, and it’s been that way for a month. But now, DC Comics announced that new comics will be hitting shops on April 28th, and the way they’re doing it could be a long-term shift in how we get the comic books we love.
The new releases are a scaled back list of new titles, not the full list of books one would expect to come from DC on a regular basis. Shipping on the 28th are Laura Marks & Kelley Jones’ Hill House book, Daphne Byrne #4; the final issue of Si Spurrier and Bilquis Evely’s run...

I pity Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn for not being able to find its audience, having the misfortune of opening just as the pandemic entered the news. Shunted to streaming, it’s languished and honestly, it’s entertaining and fun.
It’s not as good as anticipated.
Long in development, the movie was the brainchild of Margot Robbie, who immortalized the live-action version in 2016’s Suicide Squad misfire. Her role was largely inspired on the New 52/Rebirth take on the character, more Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti than Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. She was certainly the best thing about the movie so a spinoff featuring her and some of DC Comics’ other heroines sounded great.
She bonded with screenwriter Christina Hodson, best known for her solid work on Bumblebee (and credited as the writer of the still unfilmed Flash), and they crafted a...

Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti are bringing Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey to DC's Black Label.
There’s something distinctly Looney Tunes about Harley Quinn, probably the combination of self-awareness and ultraviolent slapstick comedy. So when you ask Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti about the magnificent, luridly poetic profanity in Harley Quinn & The Birds of Prey, their new Black Label collaboration on the character they steered for the better part of a decade, it’s hard not to hear Conner’s slow laugh as the glee of a cartoon artist’s paintbrush, getting ready to draw an anvil over Wile E. Coyote’s head. “That’s all Amanda, by the way,” says Palmiotti. “She’s the one [who makes] the sailors come running out of the bar, you know?”

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) premiered this weekend to critical praise, being called “a fun, madcap, and insane ride” with “highly stylized” visuals and several excellent performances on its way to earning a 92% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Taking a cue from Deadpool’s record-breaking first outing, Birds of Prey features the fourth-wall smashing narration of its lead character along with a non-linear storyline, and functions as a spinoff of David Ayer’s 2016 antihero team-up film Suicide Squad with the return of Margot Robbie as former-psychiatrist-turned-Joker-devotee Harleen Quinzel and a minuscule cameo by at least one of her other teammates from Waller’s first incarnation of Task Force X.
Harley Quinn is also set to return, along with Amanda Waller, Rick Flag and Digger Harkness, in James Gunn’s official standalone sequel The Suicide Squad in August of 2021, but Birds of Prey director Cathy Yan...

By the time Birds of Prey kicks off, Harley Quinn's toxic, abusive relationship with the Joker is, thankfully, over. Although her relationship with "Mr. J." has been the driving force for this iteration of Harley so far, her relationship history is actually a lot more complicated than that - and it involves both men and women. Is this a new invention for the movie, or is Harley Quinn queer in the DC comics? Harley's sexuality is something that's been played with in the comics for years; it's just not gotten as much attention as her "classic" relationship with the Joker.
In the opening sequence of Birds of Prey, the filmmakers get this particular question out of the way with a minimum of fuss. Harley's backstory is dealt with through a playful, goofy animated sequence, narrated by Harley herself, that depicts the events of Suicide Squad as well as more of Harley's backstory,...

One of the exciting things about the upcoming Birds of Prey movie is getting to see Harley Quinn on her own, instead of as Joker’s sidekick. But if you can’t wait, there’s already a series that portrays just that: DC Universe’s Harley Quinn.
The adult animated series, which premiered on the DC Universe streaming service back in November, has become increasingly enjoyable every week. The pilot introduces us to Harley Quinn (voiced by The Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Cuoco), who is happily in love with her boyfriend and partner-in-crime Joker (Alan Tudyk)… until he abandons her in Arkham Asylum.

Harley Quinn breaks out another deep-cut character in an ep that showcases the talented cast and introduces the first true flaw in the show.
This Harley Quinn review contains spoilers.
Oh, DC, what are we going to do with you? Harley Quinn is seven episodes in and has so far been an entertaining take on the titular anti-heroine. But this week DC Universe's flagship mature animation demonstrates where the creative team's imaginations stop, which is apparently when it comes to already established, canon, same sex relationships.
With Harley (Kaley Cuoco) still on her quest to join the Legion of Doom she chooses to help break out Wanda Sykes' Queen of Fables who was briefly featured in an earlier episode. The villainess is quickly out of control as she slaughters an entire family reunion with the Big Bad Wolf and then sends the Three Little Pigs to eat the bodies,...

Harley Quinn got off to a flying and f*ck-filled start with the highly entertaining first episode that set up the core-conflict for DC Universe's first adult animation series. All thirteen episodes were provided prior to broadcast.
Before I even get close to critiquing the inaugural season of DC Universe’s new Harley Quinn animated series, I must say it was quite beneficial to view every episode in advance of the premiere. Obviously, this can’t happen all too often because it’s very seldom that entire seasons of television are complete this early in the game, but you can imagine how it allows folks such as myself the chance to better get an idea of what’s on tap. I think five episodes of a given series were the most I’d been allotted in the past, so this was quite the treat.
To be entirely honest, had I screened even, say, three episodes before writing this review, I’d be singing a much different tune. I hate to say it, but I absolutely loathed the first three installments viewed.

Amanda Conner tells us all about the new Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey series coming from DC.
It is Harley Quinn’s mad, mad, mad, mad world, and now the Birds of Prey are just living in it. Such is the case with Harley Quinn And The Birds of Prey, the four-issue DC miniseries launching in Feb. 2020 from the creative team of writer/artist Amanda Conner and writer Jimmy Palmiotti.
Announced last week at New York Comic Con, the upcoming title is a sequel to Conner/Palmiotti’s four-year bestselling run on the standalone Harley Quinn book, and coincides with the release of the live-action film Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). However, the book is not tied to the movie’s plot. Instead, it is a 32-page DC Black Label book for ages 17 and older, a “mature readers” approach...

Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey sees the return of Amanda Conner
Amanda Conner, the gifted artist who along with husband Jimmy Palmiotti turned Harley Quinn into the comedic comics force she is today, were announced as the creative team on a new Harley book for DC's Black Label mature imprint. Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey is slated to land in February of 2020.
Conner has been a DC Comics mainstay for years, and she and Palmiotti co-wrote the Harley Quinn book that was part of wave two of the New 52. That book took Harley away from her role as lead henchperson for the Joker and instead had her highlight the absurdity around her in a superhero universe. They moved Harley to Coney Island and surrounded her with a new supporting cast who eventually turned into a gang of her own, the aptly named Gang of Harleys.

Whenever a new year approaches, I normally have a clear idea of which superhero movie will be my most anticipated. In the case of 2020, I’d like to say it’s Birds of Prey, yet I’m internally conflicted.
You see, even though I’ve been dying to see Black Canary and Huntress on the silver screen, the costuming department apparently decided to ignore using comic books for reference. Not only do those ladies’ outfits look nothing like their counterparts’ on the printed page, but neither does Harley Quinn’s. They’re basically unrecognizable. And there’s also the matter of significant reshoots to consider – but I’ll remain cautiously optimistic.
Regardless, we must brace ourselves because the marketing machine is starting to turn its gears. In an effort to entice casual fans to take a closer look at the books, DC Comics will be releasing three Birds of Prey...

Though the DC Universe streaming service is still finding its feet, it’s already managed to put forth a few live action series that are definitely worth your time, those being Titans and Doom Patrol. Not only that, but the animated darling that is Young Justice: Outsiders has also been gathering a lot of new fans since hitting the platform and was even renewed for a fourth season just a few hours ago.
But despite all that, it’s actually the mature-rated Harley Quinn animated series that a lot of people are looking forward to the most – this writer included. Black Canary, Huntress, and Harley team up in a new Birds of Prey series from Brian Azzarello and Emanuela Lupacchino.
With a movie coming out in February, DC is putting some heft behind a classic property. Brian Azzarello and Emanuela Lupacchino are bringing back the Birds of Prey in October with a new monthly series.
The Birds were originally introduced by Chuck Dixon and Dick Giordano in 1995 as a team-up between Black Canary and then wheelchair-bound genius strategist, ex-Batgirl and then-Oracle, Barbara Gordon. Ahoy Comics will step in to publish Second Coming, the satirical series that depicts Jesus Christ returning in modern times as a superhero-in-training. The spoof series from writer Mark Russell and artist Richard Pace was dropped from the March release schedule of Warner-owned DC Comics after its announced premise sparked online protest, pundit fury, and a major CitizenGo petition effort.
The series had been set-up at DC’s Vertigo imprint as a creator-owned project so the property reverted to Russell and Pace when they and DC amicably agreed that the series might be suited to a less-corporate outlet. Ahoy will launch the creator-owned series on July 10 with the first of a six-issue story arc. Award-winning artist Amanda Conner will handle the covers.
Official synopsis: “God commands Earth’s mightiest superhero, Sunstar, to accept Jesus Christ as his roommate and teach him how to use His power in a more powerful way.

Case in point are some images making their rounds over at Reddit. Seen below, Ms. Robbie can be glimpsed in the midst of her training for the DC-based epic. And to someone as intimately familiar with comics starring the Clown...

Aside from likely having to safeguard a young Cassandra Cain from the sadistic Black Mask, not much is currently known about the plot to the Birds of Prey movie. Although, its subtitle, “The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn,” is more telling than one would think.
Based on that, it’s become obvious that the Clown Princess of Crime will finally split from the Joker, a status quo that’s actually been familiar to comic book readers for about five years now. In fact, it wasn’t until Harley went solo that I even liked her, specifically when Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner began penning her adventures.
Oddly enough, the breakup would’ve happened in Suicide Squad had it not undergone significant reshoots that painted the Joker as being a heroic loverboy. As such, “relationship goals” memes flooded social media in 2016, so the average moviegoer has to catch up to...

Though the upcoming DC Universe streaming service boasts some mighty tempting content such as the live action Titans series and the long awaited return of animated cult favorite Young Justice, I must confess that Harley Quinn may be the inclusion I’m most looking forward to watching.
I say that because, even though the former Clown Princess of Crime debuted in animation about a quarter century ago before making her way to comic books, it’s the notion of seeing the character she’s blossomed into in the time since being adapted that I find enticing. In other words, let’s see what the girl can do now that she’s broken free of Joker’s influence and has established her own supporting cast.
Speaking of which, this recently surfaced synopsis gives us a better idea of what to expect (per ComicBook.com):

After years of writing great comic book stories for Marvel Comics, Brian Micheal Bendis headed over to DC Comics to try something new and play with their characters. Well, it has been announced that he'll write a new 12-part Batman story arc in Batman Giant. This is the first time he will be writing a story for the Dark Knight and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with the character.
This comic is a part of DC's new line of 100-page Giant comics for Walmart. Bendis has had his fair share of working with dark, gritty, and grounded heroes in the past such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones, so Batman should be a fun character for him to play with.
What's interesting is that Bendis is currently writing Superman for DC and while he's taking on Batman for DC's Walmart-exclusive titles, DC's Batman writer Tom King will write a 12-issue Superman story arc.
