Amazon Prime Video's "Upload" is a multi-genre series that blends science fiction with comedy, romance, and the supernatural. Set against the background of the afterlife, the show tells the story of a man who dies and is uploaded to a "digital afterlife program." After Nathan's (Robbie Amell) untimely death in a tragic accident, his consciousness is uploaded into an after-death virtual living facility called Lakeview. The romance between Nathan and Nora (Andy Allo), the living customer service angel he interacts with through his hologram form, also makes the crux of the story. The futuristic society functions with complicated, advanced technology at the center and comes from Emmy-winning writer Greg Daniels, who is known for his creative work on popular comedies such as "The Office," "Parks and Recreation," and "King Of The Hill."
The show's first two seasons are currently streaming on Prime Video, and "Upload" has been renewed for a third season.

Comedians, actors and best friends Kate Berlant and John Early have been making beautifully weird comedy together for a little over a decade. On June 24, they bring their most ambitious sketch project yet to Peacock. Would It Kill You To Laugh? gives the duo a full hour to mine for awkward laughs while exploring some very surreal premises. The show also features a running bit in which the two play former sitcom stars who reunite after 30 years of not speaking for a very uncomfortable primetime interview special hosted by Meredith Vieira. The bit, it turns out, is inspired by a very real situation involving the stars of Three’s Company.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for season 2 of “Upload”
“Upload” has returned on Prime Video, and this season, series stars Andy Allo and Allegra Edwards share more than just a love interest. Both women got to briefly take on brand new characters as well, and it was harder than expected.
Since Nora (Allo) went off the grid for a bit following the events of the season one finale, her chair at Horizen sat empty — as did her Lakeview avatar. So, when Andy Allo and Robbie Amell reunited on screen, it wasn’t actually Nathan and Nora. It was Nathan and Tinsley (Mackenzie Cardwell), an angel in training who was using Nora’s avatar until she got her own.
“Honestly I’m tired of people using my avatar,” Allo joked with TheWrap. “Like, we need to talk about this, Ok? I need to put a ban on my avatar.”
Jokes aside, Allo noted...

Inspired by Jane Austen’s unfinished novel, the historical drama tells the story of Charlotte Heywood, a high-spirited young woman who happens upon the seaside town of Sanditon during a time of social change, and becomes intrigued by the town’s inhabitants and their secrets.
The first season of the fan-favorite British series ended on a giant cliffhanger in early 2020, and having been canceled in the UK by ITV, it wasn’t clear if anything would ever be resolved. But following fan outcry and the successful run on “Masterpiece,” the show was revived and ordered for a second and third season last year. Judging by the uptick in the number of shows and movies set in whatever plane of existence awaits us when we die, the afterlife is a place of infinite possibility. Along those lines, there are layers to “Upload” — the latest comedy series from “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation” co-creator Greg Daniels — that inch toward taking advantage of the possibilities of paradise. Its first season brings in rom-com tropes and workplace shenanigans and buddy adventures and even shades of futuristic cybercrime. But instead of being a satisfying sum of all those component parts, “Upload” feels like a spiritual tug-of-war between a handful of thinly sketched starting points that never coalesce into anything significant.
The first sign of “Upload” being something more hollow than intended is its choice of main character. Nathan (Robbie Amell) is a hotshot coder who — despite having a doting girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards), happy times with his niece,...

When Paul Ha decided to move White Columns to a garage-type space on Horatio and West 4th Street in 1998, many people though he was crazy. Hard as it might seem today, that corner of the village, adjacent to the still-vaguely-sordid Meatpacking District, was not desirable in the least. But it was affordable, which is in White Columns' DNA, since it was founded in 1970 by Jeffrey Lew and Gordon Matta-Clark in Soho (and known as the 112 Workshop, or 112 Greene Street). That changed rapidly. In 1998, the gallery scene was making its shift from Soho to Chelsea — Luhring Augustine and Andrea Rosen moved in that summer — and in June of that year, a spunky little cable-television show set largely in the Meatpacking District aired its pilot. Who would have thought that a world-class museum would be in spitting distance from the little factory of the new that...

In a welcomed, slight return to form, “Episode 404” of Episodes breaks free from the show’s recent unfortunate cycle of retreading familiar territory. As the series moves from its “Pucks” phase into the next chapter of its characters lives, new dilemmas have been revealed that make “Episode 404” more exciting than the season 4 episodes that preceded it.
Picking up right where “Episode 403” left off, Beverly flips through the pages of Sean’s partner’s notes realizing that their original premise for “The Opposite of Us” script isn’t quite so original. Sean calls his old partner Tim, the Schmeinstein to his Einstein, but Bev takes Tim’s side despite disliking him. The couple bicker over how much credit Tim truly deserves and it’s in this couple’s fighting that the sharp wit of Episodes can best be seen. Bev can see the similarities in their scripts while Sean refuses to,...

Just when they thought they were out, Hollywood pulled them back in. Wasting precious little time, Season 4 of Episodes opens with a few quick shots of Sean and Beverly Lincoln unhappily en route back to Los Angeles from London. Before Network Corporate Head Elliot Salad picked up “Pucks!” for an additional 6 episodes at the end of Season 3 (this in order to spite the NBC brass that just landed Matt LeBlanc in a new pilot), everyone in the Episodes cast of characters seemed one step closer to happiness. But the next morning in “Episode 401”, Sean & Bev, Morning Randolph and even Matt LeBlanc himself are back on Stage 32 to make their, “shitty sitcom no one watched.”
It’s unclear how much of the set up is meant to be received as a meta skewering of Episodes having lasted this long, but in its 4th season, the Showtime Hollywood satire remains a charming...
