While completing her MFA at Tisch/NYU, Michelle was an IFP Project Involve Honoree, a development intern at Good Machine, and a director of five short films. Her first screenplay debuted in IFP's Emerging Narrative Market and was optioned by Miramax. She co-wrote a feature with DGA award-winning director Nicolai Fuglsig, in development with Hardy, Son & Baker, and adapted a life rights story for Academy Award-winning producers Blye Pagon Faust and Nicole Rocklin. Her adaptation of "Tales from the Boom-Boom Room", based on the first sexual harassment lawsuit on Wall Street, is in development at Archer Gray. Her feature based on an Australian true crime story won First Prize at the Australian International Screenwriting Awards. "Vernal", written for director Ed McCulloch, is being produced by Amy Redford and Katy Bettner.
A number of other projects have reached second-round, semi-finalist, and finalist status at Austin Film Festival, NYWIFT/Writer's Lab, Broad Humor Film Festival, Nashville Film Festival, Beverly Hills Film Festival, Toronto Female Eye Film Festival Screenplay Lab, Outfest, Barcelona Film & TV Market and the Sundance Screenwriting Lab. Michelle is studying Advanced Creative Non-Fiction Writing at Cambridge University while writing screenplays, a memoir, and advertising campaigns for international production companies.
