Luis Silberwasser is President of the Television Networks Group at Univision Communications Inc., the leading Spanish-language media and content company in the United States. A seasoned leader with more than 25 years of experience building TV networks and creating content in the entertainment industry with particular focus in the International, U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets, Silberwasser oversees the broadcast and cable networks as well as the Company's entertainment, news and sports content divisions along with its operations and technology teams. Silberwasser is the first to serve as President of the Television Networks Group in this newly created role by Univision CEO Wade Davis.
In his role, Silberwasser is responsible for expanding Univision's extensive audience lead across the Company's full portfolio of national broadcast and cable television networks, including Univision, the No. 1 Spanish-language network; UniMás, the fastest-growing broadcast network; TUDN, the most-watched Spanish-language sports network in the United States; and Galavisión, the No. 1 Spanish-language entertainment cable network. He also oversees Univision Noticias, Univision's award-winning News division.
Prior to joining Univision, Silberwasser served as President at Telemundo Networks where he transformed the company's content strategy and modernized the brand for its target Hispanic audience. Earlier in his career, he served as EVP and Chief Content Officer at Discovery Networks International where he managed programming, production and marketing for 15 channels and led the launch of TLC International. Silberwasser also held roles at Sunbeam Corporation and Procter & Gamble earlier in his career.
With over two decades of extensive experience in the television industry, Silberwasser has been lauded with multiple awards throughout his career. He has served as Board Director of the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) and was named one of Cablefax's Most Influential Minorities in 2017. Silberwasser has also received the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications' (NAMIC) Leadership Luminary Award and has been named to Broadcasting & Cable's Power 100 list.
Silberwasser received his MBA from Harvard Business School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. A proud dual citizen of the United States and Colombia, he resides in Miami with his wife and four children.
