- Erika's love for the theatrical began at the age of seven when her mother enrolled her in ballet classes. She went on to study for another sixteen years under the tutelage of instructors from The American Ballet Theatre, The Joffrey Ballet and England's Royal Ballet. Eventually outgrowing the limited repertoire of classical ballet, Erika began training as a swing dancer and was an original member of the swing dance team, "The Swinging Hepcats" (under the direction of Denise Phelan) making an appearance on CNN with former partner, Damon Donnelly. Erika later went on to win a swing dance competition with former partner Christian Perry, where she was given a scholarship to train at Arthur Murray's Dance Studio in Sherman Oaks, California.
Ready for a new challenge, she nourished her flair for the dramatic in musical theatre as co-founder of The West Coast Theatrefest Co., a touring multidisciplinary art installation. As the artistic director, she relished in guiding the creative direction of the show where she discovered a growing passion for make-up design and the magic with which make-up could accomplish the "final transformation" into a character.
After graduating from a 400-hour Journeyman Program from one of LA's top make-up schools, Make-up Designory (MUD), Erika has actively worked in film, television, theatre, and commercials. Currently based in Los Angeles, she offers her talents as a freelance make-up artist, with skills ranging from beauty make-up to character and special make-up effects.
Among her recent credits, Erika was the key special F/X make-Up artist for the HD24P feature "White of Winter", which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and make-up department head on the short film "QIK2JDG"; the first film to be shot with the Viper Filmstream Camera, starring Paris Hilton and Francis Capra.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Anonymous
