Tennis star Naomi Osaka offered her response to Luca Guadagnino’s buzzy tennis movie Challengers on Thursday, sharing her own moves on the court set to the movie’s viral techno score.
On TikTok, Osaka posted a video of herself moving through a tennis serve and twirling her racket with her fingers after writing, “Me after watching Challengers.”
Though the tennis player has no official ties to the hit movie, which stars Zendaya embroiled in a love triangle with Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist, screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes previously told Business Insider it was Osaka’s 2018 win over Serena Williams that partially inspired the film.

Michael Douglas is in terrific form as Benjamin Franklin in Apple TV’s new historical limited series “Franklin” but he isn’t the only actor to emerge with awards whispers whizzing through the air. Veteran actor Eddie Marsan features in a key supporting role as John Adams and delivers one of the finest performances of his career while also shining a new light onto a man that many actors have depicted before.
The limited series follows Franklin’s eight years in France as he tried to persuade King Louis XVI (Tom Pezier) to join the colonies’ cause and aid them in the American Revolutionary War. The scenes between Douglas and Marsan are nothing short of spectacular and Marsan nails his performance as Adams, as noted by critics.
Clint Worthington (Roger Ebert) noted: “Marsan’s energy as Adams is decidedly different from Paul Giamatti’s in Ellis’ original 2008 miniseries—“Franklin” feels...

Tomorrow marks 30 years since the death of Ayrton Senna, the legendary Brazilian Formula One driver killed in a grisly crash on the track. He’s as close to a god in the country as any man not named Pelé, yet save for the brilliant 2010 documentary “Senna,” his life has never been depicted on screen.
Netflix will be the first to try with its upcoming scripted series “Senna.” With any luck, Senna will not just be an icon in Brazil but the face of Netflix’s enormous expansion into the Latin American market.
“Senna” showrunner Vicente Amorim says his series is one of the biggest productions in Latin American history and uses an almost entirely Brazilian crew, something that demanded a massive investment in the region from Netflix. No one will say how much the “Senna” budget is, but the production values and the re-creation of 13 F1 tracks and models of...

Twisters stars Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing) and Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) as opposing forces who come together to try to predict, and possibly tame, the immense power of tornadoes. Twisters got some major love during Universal’s presentation at CinemaCon, with the audience getting to see an extended preview of the movie.
The extended preview starts off at a rodeo, which is disrupted by a giant tornado as bulls and horses run wild amidst the chaos. We see scenes of Powell’s character as assembles a group of storm chasers as two tornados combine to form a super tornado. “It’s alright to be scared… fear is the reason you do it,” Powell’s character says. “You don’t face your fears, you ride them.” Our own Chris Bumbray said that the new footage looks huge with tons of stuff happening, but he added that it looks...

There are plenty of ways to describe what happened at Caesars Palace on Wednesday when Universal Pictures delivered Lee Isaac Chung’s Twisters to the Colosseum stage. Some examples: The film whipped up a frenzy; exclusive footage spun through Sin City; action scenes blew away theater owners, etc., etc.
All of the above work as Universal debuted never-before-seen scenes of the summer release courtesy of Chung and his castmembers Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos, who turned up for an extended introduction.
Chung was first to walk out — an appearance that marked his first time at CinemaCon — and the director said that many in the audience might be wondering why he decided to jump into summer blockbuster tentpole territory after carving out a career in independent film. “I’ve been fascinated by tornadoes all my life,” he said, adding that he grew up in Arkansas, where tornadoes were just a way of life.

Bradley Cooper, the man who sports dreamy blue eyes and impressive acting chops, has graced the silver screen in numerous acclaimed movies. From playing a troubled bipolar man in Silver Linings Playbook to a war hero in American Sniper, he has shown off a variety of acting skills in recent years.
With a whopping 12 Oscar nominations under his belt, it’s undisputed that the actor, 49, certainly understands a thing or two about Hollywood’s biggest night. Having said that, despite his exceptional record at the Academy Awards, Cooper once shocked both fans and critics by referring to the ceremony as “utterly meaningless”.

Netflix, Amazon and DreamWorks Animation are all reportedly battling for the rights to Jennifer Lopez and Anthony Ramos’ big-screen version of Bob The Builder.
In news that might make some British readers do a double take, the animated children’s TV show Bob The Builder is being adapted into a film by Jennifer Lopez’s production company, and interest is such that a bidding war has reportedly sparked up.
According to Deadline's exclusive, Netflix, Amazon MGM and DreamWorks Animation are all interested in partnering with Jennifer Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions on the animated project.
Unexpected though ‘Jennifer Lopez’s Bob The Builder’ might be as a headline, the musician and star’s plans for the film have plenty of logic behind them. Actor Anthony Ramos – who’ll produce the film alongside Lopez – originally came up with the idea of telling a Bob The Builder story set in Puerto Rico.

Exclusive: There is a hot bidding war heating up for Mattel’s animated take of Bob the Builder with heavy interest from Netflix, Amazon MGM Studios, and DreamWorks Animation and others. We hear that offers have been made, and that no one is merely circling for this animated feature which speaks greatly to the Latino and Hispanic community.
The project, which we told you about last month, has Jennifer Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions producing with ShadowMachine (which was behind Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio) and In the Heights star Anthony Ramos. In fact, it was Ramos idea to deliver a Bob the Builder set in Puerto Rico, one which is about the resilience of the Latino culture. You've got to feel a little sorry for Anthony Ramos, who had been presumably looking to ride his Hamilton time into a bigger film career, doing great work in In The Heights and paying his dues in Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts. But here comes the first Twisters trailer, dropped during the Super Bowl, and it's (primarily) all about Glen Powell. See the windy new promo here:
Described as "a current-day chapter" that follows the 1996 disaster movie (no word on whether any of the original cast will cameo or otherwise show up), Twisters follows Daisy Edgar-Jones as Kate Cooper, who used to chase storms, but prefers to study their patterns from a screen in New York following a tragic twister encounter.

Paris, June 4 (Ians) Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos bid farewell to Parc des Princes as Paris Saint-Germain wasted a two-goal lead to suffer a 3-2 defeat to Clermont in the final Ligue 1 match of the season on Saturday night.
“After two seasons in the capital, Leo Messi’s adventure with Paris Saint-Germain will come to a conclusion at the end of the 2022-2023 season,” the club said in a statement after the match, while Ramos’ departure was confirmed on Friday.
“I would like to thank the club, the city of Paris and its people for these two years. I wish you all the best for the future,” Messi told the club website.

Over 50 members from the New York State Senate and Assembly have signed two separate letters calling on the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers to return to the bargaining table with the Writers Guild.
One letter from the senate and one from the assembly were delivered to AMPTP Friday morning, which marks one month since the current writers strike began. The letters, addressed to the studio association’s president, Carol Lombardini, urge the group and “its affiliated companies” to listen to the issues WGA has put forth on behalf of its writers.
“We understand that, despite many weeks at the bargaining table, the AMPTP rejected a range of Writers Guild proposals that are essential to the well-being of writers in the episodic television, comedy-variety and feature film areas,” both letters state. “We call on the AMPTP, and its affiliated companies, to listen closely to what their writers are telling...

More than 50 Democratic members of the New York state legislature, reminding the AMPTP that companies it represents are the beneficiaries of “hundreds of millions of dollars in tax credits” every year, are calling on the studios to return to the bargaining table with the Writers Guild and make a deal to end the month-long strike.
And by “relatedly” tying the tax credits to “good faith” bargaining, as they wrote in one of the letters delivered this morning to AMPTP President Carol Lombardini, the lawmakers appear to be implying that they’ll take the outcome of the strike into consideration when weighing future funding of the incentives program.
The state’s film incentives program was expanded from $400 million a year to $700 million in the state’s new $229 billion budget that was approved by the legislature in April and signed by Governor Kathy Hochul on May 3.

Accidents will happen, but when it comes to setting off explosions on the set of a movie, it is vital to have an experienced crew that's thought ahead about everything that can go wrong and how to prevent even the smallest calamity from occurring. Fire is even more unpredictable, which is why stunts involving that volatile element are usually left to the professionals (or Lance Henriksen).
But when you're making a "Transformers" movie, for whatever reason, the risks seem greater -- at least when Michael Bay is in charge. Stan Wawrinka is back working with Magnus Norman and he is through to the second round of Roland Garros.
It was an interesting match between two veterans whose countries begin with an 'S'. Switzerland's Wawrinka proved victorious beating Spain's Ramos and it was a good start for him. Not perfect in any sense but it's a win and Wawrinka will take it.
He is aware that he's a title contender or anything like that but he's simply enjoying this time on the court knowing this year or next year might be his last. He doesn't have any regrets when it comes to his career admitting it was a beautiful one.
Well, first of all, this beautiful career I have had, I don't focus on the past. I'm always focusing on the present, so I'm not always thinking about what I have accomplished, about what I have done in each tournament.

Twisters, the sequel to 1996 storm-chasing action thriller Twisteris gathering pace. With Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell already aboard to star, Anthony Ramos is in talks to join them.
Minari's Lee Isaac Chung is in the director's chair for the new film, which if it stays true to what was reported last year, will focus on the daughter of Helen Hunt's Jo Harding and Bill Paxton's Bill Harding from the original. The hope is for Hunt to make an appearance.
Assuming he locks in a deal, this will mark the latest big film for Ramos, who is starring in this summer's Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts, due in cinemas on 9 June.

Twenty-seven years after the release of the blockbuster disaster film Twister (watch it Here), Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment have finally put a follow-up on the fast track to release – but they’re not calling this one a sequel. Set to reach theatres on July 19, 2024, Twisters is being described as a “new chapter” in what is about to become a franchise… and a new cast member has just signed on to play a role beside the previously announced Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing) and Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick). That new cast member is (as reported by Deadline), Anthony Ramos of In the Heights and the upcoming film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
Details on the characters being played by Powell and Ramos have not been revealed. We do know that Edgar-Jones is playing a former storm chaser who works a desk job after surviving a disastrous tornado encounter.

Remember the days of actually getting in your car and driving to a Blockbuster while crossing your fingers a new DVD release you’ve been dying to see is available? And then when it’s not, trying to figure out what you haven’t already watched a million times before so you don’t leave empty-handed? Netflix’s Blockbuster dives into those good old days when streaming didn’t exist and everyone owned a DVD player.
The 10-episode series is set in the last remaining Blockbuster Video and stars Randall Park as the store’s manager, Timmy Yoon. The cast also includes Melissa Fumero as Eliza Walker, Tyler Alvarez as Carlos Herrera, and Madeleine Arthur as Hannah Hadman. Olga Merediz plays Connie Serrano, Jb Smoove is Percy Scott, and Kamaia Fairburn stars as Kayla Scott.
