Eustace's supersonic jump was part of a project by Paragon Space Development Corp. and its Stratospheric Explorer team, which has been working secretly for years to develop a self-contained commercial spacesuit that would allow people to explore some 20 miles above the Earth's surface. Exclusive: NCIS: La creator/showrunner Shane Brennan has teamed with top video game writer Jesse Stern (Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 1&2) for Insecurity, a drama project, which has been set up at CBS. The two previously worked together on the mothership NCIS series. Written by Stern, Insecurity centers on an obsessive compulsive former Federal Agent turned Head of Security at a Boston art museum who uses his unique professional and personal background — he was raised by criminals — to help solve complex local and federal cases across the country. The project hails from CBS TV Studios, Brennan’s studio-based Shane Brennan Prods. and Oasis Media. Brennan, Stern, Grant Anderson, David Lonner, Larry Shuman and John Mass executive produce. This is CAA-repped Stern’s second sale this season — he also has comedy Thursdays with Breckin Meyer, Sony TV and Fanfare at NBC. Paradigm-repped Brennan recently developed and executive produced the TNT drama King & Maxwell.

Shane Brennan’s recently launched CBS TV Studios-based production company has sold its first 2 projects — an adaptation of the King & Maxwell series of novels by bestselling author David Baldacci, which Brennan will write, and a medical drama from writer Jordan Hawley. Both have been set up at CBS. Additionally, NCIS and NCIS: La executive producer Brennan has tapped CBS TV Studios’ current executive Grant Anderson to run his Shane Brennan Prods. as president. Tentatively titled King & Maxwell, the first project centers on 2 former Secret Service Agents-turned-private investigators who solve cases deemed too sensitive for normal law enforcement to handle. “David has created a fascinating world with those 2 characters who are involved in the shadowy side of the power and politics from inside the Beltway to Wall Street,” Brennan said. Because a broadcast series calls for 22-24 episodes a season, “we’ll take the characters further than David would do,...
