First up, please schedule your lunch breaks around snicks' liveblog of Days of Our Lives today and tomorrow.
I don't know about you, but I had a really, really terrible Monday. One thing that improved it was these pictures of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively having a backyard party with a dunk tank. Frankly, I'm amazed at the voodoo that keeps Ryan's trunks from falling down as low as they ride.
I didn't really think anything of it when I watched True Blood, but so soon after the controversy with George W. Bush's severed head on Game of Thrones, was it wise to put vigilantes in Obama masks?
Leave it to a group of physicists to take the fun out of Batman. They calculated that his flight with his cape is not only impossible, but if Wayne Enterprises geeks had figured out a way to make him glide, he...

Ted Casablanca, longtime journalist and gossip columnist for E! Online, has ended his column, "The Awful Truth." Casablanca announced the news in a brief post on the E! website, which just rebranded itself with a major redesign. Though Casablanca, who borrowed his nom de plume from "Valley of the Dolls," originated the column at Premiere magazine, he has been a fixture at E! for almost two decades. He joined E! in 1996 and eventually turned "the Awful Truth" into a daily column, appearing on assorted E! shows as a correspondent and commentator...

For the last month, Oscar season has been dominated by one presence: Uggie the dog "The Artist," the presumed Best Picture frontrunner thanks to a bevy of awards season plaudits. Following the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night, that conversation changed: Could "The Help" -- buoyed by SAG wins from Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and the entire cast -- unseat "The Artist" atop the Oscar heap? Short answer: probably not. Despite the strong showing during the SAG Awards, "The Help" is facing a herculean task in its charge for Best Picture. "'The Help' wasn't able to score a single nomination in other branches," wrote Grantland's Oscar guru Mark Harris, "so where is the Best Picture support going to come from?" Translation: "The Help" didn't earn nominations from the directors' branch, writers' branch or editors' branch. If it wins Best Picture, "The Help" would be the first film...

Elton John calls Jt '#1 on my wish list' to portray him in upcoming biopic.

Justin Timberlake
We may not be 100 percent sure of his current relationship status, but we can confirm that Justin Timberlake is getting very serious with Elton John.
We think. In response to John's claims that Timberlake is "#1 on my wish list" to portray the singer in an upcoming biopic — he told the Los Angeles Times that Jt's portrayal of him in the David Lachapelle-directed "This Train Don't Stop There Anymore" video was "superb" — Timberlake is apparently "seriously" weighing the role, according to E! Perhaps we're not quite as excited for this film as E! Online writer Ted Casablanca, whose breathless reports about the picture are kind of amusing (even straight guys didn't write this breathlessly about, say, "Showgirls," did they?), but two Steven Soderbergh films in one year ain't too bad. The first one of 2012 arrives in January, Gina Carano's action thriller "Haywire." The picture also co-stars Channing Tatum, who's directly responsible for Soderbergh's second film of next year, the stripper film "Magic Mike." Based on Tatum's experiences as a male stripper in his pre-fame days, the actor pitched it to the filmmaker a few months after "Haywire" wrapped and the Academy Award-winning director was intrigued by the prospect of a film milleu he'd never really seen onscreen before. Written by producer Reid Carolin -- he is President of Iron Horse Entertainment, the production company he started with Tatum --...

If you cast your eye around the cosmos of entertainment journalism, you’ll see that the Stars, They’re Just Like Us! era takes many forms. It’s there, of course, on the covers of gossip magazines, with their cozy titillating headlines (“Brad’s secret agony!” “Kourtney thrilled to be pregnant!”) that make it sound as if they’re talking about one’s errant sibling. It’s there in the stalker-camera style of TMZ, or the fake-intimate banter of the nightly infotainment shows, in which stars frequently do more acting by pretending to be the interviewers’ best friends than they...

Backstage at DWTS: Which Stars Fell "in Love"? And Who's Demanding Life in Prison for Conrad Murray?
Looks like we have our first partner-on-partner romance of the season! Except, well, you might be disappointed at how long this one will last. (Hint: Do not blink.) Backstage at Dancing With the Stars tonight, we chatted up the cast about said "love," this season's first perfect score (J.R. Martinez got a 60!), and we also heard from a very outspoken contestant who's urging the judge to have a "backbone" in the Michael Jackson manslaughter trial and send Conrad Murray away for as long as possible... That outspoken contestant, naturally, is Nancy Grace, who told our Ted Casablanca a few months ago that Conrad Murray "should have been charged with murder one." So how does she feel about...

While we patiently (or not so patiently) wait for Breaking Dawn – Part 1 to open in just a couple of weeks, E! Online’s Ted Casablanca has put together a list of the top five sexiest moments in The Twilight Saga movies so far. Bring on the honeymoon!
1. Meadow Makeouts!
Forget the pretty flowers and whatnot in the original Twilight, all we could focus on was that passionate kiss between Rob and Kristen Stewart’s onscreen counter parts: Bella and Edward (duh). As all the fans will tell you, this is a pretty crucial part of the Twi novels, and its onscreen counterpart did not disappoint.
2. If the Tent Is a Rockin’…
It just wouldn’t be fair if Edward got all the action, would it? Well, in Eclipse, Taylor Lautner’s Jacob gets some much needed lovin’! A freezing cold Bella gets warmed up by the hunky werewolf since Edward’s icy vamp self cannot help. And let’s not forget about Lautner’s line in the scene, “Let’s face it, I am hotter than you” (Ok, some of the Twilight flicks do have good lines).
3. Sweet, Sweet Prom Night Kisses:
While we usually wouldn’t celebrate a way innocent prom night (in the first Twi film), we swooned when Edward kissed Bella’s neck while the two got their slow dance on! Sure, it wasn’t bedroom biz like their first kiss, but we’re pretty sure Twi-hards will agree that they nearly died during their sexy gazebo smooch.
Read the top two scenes at E! Online here.
I think I’ll always love that first kiss in Twilight!

And while I’ve been asked to hold off official comments until the film opens next week (standard practice), I did find these columns regarding Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar chances thanks to his “J. In the film, DiCaprio plays the paranoid, power-hungry FBI director over the course of his decades-spanning career. And while the Oscar nominee is recognizable during Hoover’s early days — when he was trying to solidify his position in the bureau by single-handedly solving the disappearance of Charles Lindbergh’s baby or bringing refuted gangsters to justice — DiCaprio dons layers of remarkable make-up to play Hoover in the later stages of his career and life. It’s official: Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries‘ summer wedding will be televised on E!, Kim’s mom Kris Jenner has revealed.
“This is the thing, one of the biggest joys in my life is the fact that we have Khloe and Lamar‘s experience on E!” Kris Jenner tells E!. “They filmed it and every time I watch that, I cry.”
In fact, while speaking to E’s Ted Casablanca at the network’s L.A. offices yesterday, Kris told Ted, “I have somebody waiting out in the hallway to discuss this very thing!”
The decision to televise the wedding comes as no surprise to Kim’s sisters, either. “It comes with the territory,” Kourtney said. Added Khloe: “I mean, I would assume it would be…we sell our souls to E!”
Meanwhile, cameras also reportedly caught the proposal on film for Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Is that so shocking?...

Way to have your Robsten cake and eat it too, Ted Casablanca. The E! Online scribe is throwing doubt on the rumor that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were kissing on the dance floor at a pre-Oscar party last weekend, saying his sources didn’t even see the couple there. Plus, it’s not like these two are into public displays like that, right? But wait! Turns out Ted’s people did spot the duo getting close somewhere more private, though—a vintage clothing store in Sherman Oaks!
Yes, E! claims that RPattz and KStew were at American Vintage last Saturday, and “it was very obvious they were so in love.” Were they rutting in the dressing room or something? “Rob was a total gentleman, and was very attentive to Kristen. He also paid for everything they bought.” Well with their Twi-cash, they could have bought the damn store. So wait,...

Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson’s divorce could really use a villain. After all, why else would E! Online be drumming up gossip about Blake Lively seducing her Green Lantern co-star? But even ol’ Ted Casablanca can’t really get behind that one, especially when Blake’s being spotted with Ryan Gosling (so many Ryans). No, rather than the usual backstage affair or fetish model (oooh, if only it was a fetish model), it really looks like these two “drifted apart.” Yeesh, how are we supposed to feel superior to that? “Distance and their careers played a big role. When you don’t spend a lot of time with your partner you grow apart,” a source told People. “They were on different pages.” Though they were allegedly talking nurseries when they bought a mansion this summer, Radar says Rylett’s August trip to Switzerland was colder than the ski slopes.

It's all good in the show-biz hood today, now that this whole Ed O'Neill vs. Jane Lynch story has turned out to be bunk. 'Glee' star Jane Lynch responded to 'Modern Family' actor Ed O'Neill's remarks this week that she didn't deserve the Emmy she won earlier this year - but her response wasn't exactly Sue Sylvester-ian.
When reached by E! Online to comment about the diss, Lynch's representatives thanked columnist Ted Casablanca for his outrage, but not much else.
"Thanks for being repulsed," Jane's rep e-mailed. "But let it go, that's what we're doing."
In the new issue of TV Guide, O'Neill said: "I love Jane, honestly I do. I'm dying to star in one of Christopher Guest's movies alongside her, but I don't think she should have gotten the Emmy for that part. (Sue Sylvester) is just a one-note character."
Maybe this will put the issue to rest.

Joey Fatone wants to be on Glee as a teacher, and he thinks NSync’s music should be featured. I’m not against a boy band episode in concept, but if Joey gets to come on, I want Lance Bass, maybe as a judge for regionals. Glee needs more openly gay actors: In for a gay, in for a gaygle.
Hungary has enshrined marriage as only between a man and a woman in their constitution. It may be pointless, because the EU says that all member countries must recognize all personal legal documents of all other EU countries, including birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage certificates. So Hungary gays can just cross the border to a more equality-driven country and boom! Married.
I sometimes don’t get Ted Casablanca. He just tries to make something out of nothing, in this case acting like Ricky Martin spending time at a party with a woman meant something.

E! Online columnist Ted Casablanca, consulted by his colleague Gornstein, sounded satisfied with that assessment and called it all the more reason to celebrate Harris and Burtka for being out, proud, and expecting. "Most are much more interested in covering up their homosexuality, not procreating," he said. “Most gay couples don't make it long enough to even want to do this. That's why what Neil Patrick Harris is doing is a watershed moment.

Apparently Toothy—that's the pseudonym for a particular Hollywood leading man who keeps his homosexuality very quiet—has a secret surrogate baby to go with his down-low boyfriend. Adorable, right? Stellan Skarsgård and Robin Wright are in talks to join the cast of David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, based on the best-selling novel by late Swedish author Stieg Larsson and scheduled for December 21, 2011.
According to Deadline, Wright is negotiating to play Erika Berger, a magazine editor romantically tied to the film’s lead, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, to be played by Daniel Craig. The role is relatively small in the book, but Berger plays a more significant part in the other two novels of Larsson’s “Millennium Trilogy,” and Wright would return for both.
Skarsgård, a Swedish born actor, is honing in on the part of Martin Vanger, President of the family’s multi-generational company and a key suspect in the disappearance of young Harriet, reports Variety. You might recognize the talented Swede from Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3, Good Will Hunting, and the underrated crime thriller Ronin.

snicks started the day off right with a Facebook album of birthday boy Ryan Lochte's more impressive photos. He's 26-years-old today, and it took him 25 of those years to grow out his trademark mop of hair. Lady Gaga topped the nomination for MTV's Video Music Awards with 13, a record, plus she became the first artist to ever have two videos up in the Video of the Year category, "Telephone" and "Bad Romance".; She later released a statement about the nominations: A long time ago the world told me and my little monsters we would never be heard, together we changed the rules. Who out there would like to play Edward's best friend Garrett in the upcoming vampire/werewolf sequel 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn'? I'm guessing quite a few of you have raised hands. Well it seems that one such person up for the job is actor Lee Pace (below). Pace can currently be seen appearing in the dire 'Marmaduke', but is probably known best for his role in fantasy TV series 'Pushing Daisies'. The news break comes courtesy of E Entertainment's Ted Casablanca. 'The character is described in the script as a tall, nomadic vampire with sandy hair that he keeps tied back with a leather thong.' says Casablanca. 'Garrett is also penned as being down-to-earth, laid-back, rugged and having a lightness and element of humor about him.'' In spite of this news rumour there does appear to be a few sources negating such reports...

Today's update is massive so without further delay I will begin with a minor casting update announcing Jordana Spiro ("My Boys", "Love Bites") has joined Joel Schumacher's Trespass. In itself this seems like a "so what" bit of casting, but I wasn't aware the two stars top-lining this thing are Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman. When was that announced? (June 15th I found out was the answer.)
Anyhow, Trespass is set to begin production in Louisiana in early August and centers on a husband and wife (Kidman) taken hostage by a group of thieves led by Cage. Spiro's character becomes a willing accomplice in the crime. Quite an interesting group don'tcha think?
Next comes another press release, this time announcing Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) is in final negotiations to direct a Total Recall remake for Columbia. The release describes the film as a contemporized adaptation...

Hollywoodnews.com: It would be easier if Sony just told us who David Fincher has cast as Lisbeth Salander in his planned remake of “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.” Instead, we have to filter through denials, non-commitments, and potentially misleading rumor stories about actresses who are Not going to be playing the role.
For instance, there’s Natalie Portman, who denied her involvement with the pending production while speaking to “Thor” fans at Comic-Con last weekend. Carey Mulligan has been discussed, but nothing has been confirmed. And this morning, “Twilight” mega-star Kristen Stewart is the latest actress in the right age range to be linked to an “I’m not Lisbeth” story.
A source tells E! columnist Ted Casablanca that K-Stew is “not likely” to be joining the already cast Daniel Craig in Fincher’s “Tattoo.”

She most certainly wasn't America's favorite pick for Jake Pavelka on last season of “The Bachelor,” but Vienna Girardi may not be the villain she was once taken for.

Hollywoodnews.com: Heather Morris aka cheerleader Brittany on “Glee” put the kibosh to several rumors surrounding the show, i.e. that the cast is overworked, the Newsweek fiasco targeting cast member Jonathan Groff and that Lea Michele is a diva on wheels.
Newsweek ran a controversial opinion piece stating that gay actors are unable to play straight onscreen, in particular Groff as Michelle’s boyfriend on the show.
Morris lets out to E!’s Ted Casablanca “(creator) Ryan (Murphy) makes sure we talk to him about anything and everything that goes on. It’s like having a father. He’s so smart about everything. Everything he’s been speaking about, how gay [actors] can play straight—he really stands behind. Everything he does is for a good cause. Coming from behind the scenes, it’s like he’s never going to say anything false or make anything up. God, I support him in everything.

Hollywoodnews.com: Dear Bar Refaeli, no. 19 babe on the Maxim list, if you want to marry Leonardo DiCaprio, be aware of what you’re getting into.
The “Inception” star was recently seen at the Maxim’s Hot 100 party at Paramount Studios with his usual entourage of one, actor Kevin Connolly when all of a sudden according to E!’s Ted Casablanca:
The poor man’s version of Bar, sporting an übertight, strapless dress and some serious sex hair, had Leo’s ear for quite some time at a table near the DJ booth.
DiCaprio, dressed in his usual incognito ensemble of a blue baseball cap and a pullover, was all smiles as the brunette babe flirted him up.
The episode totally fritzed the wiring of the media and the paparazzi who were clearly seduced by the rumor that DiCaprio is getting engaged to Refaeli.

It seems Morocco is being more logical than Egypt, and is going to let Sir Elton John perform a concert there, despite some outcry from clerics that worry he will “encourage homosexuality.”
The cast of Three Musketeers is shaping up to be handsome, with negotiations for Percy Jackson’s Logan Lerman up for D’Artagnan, and Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans and Matthew MacFadyen up for the Porthos, Athos, and Aramis. They hope Orlando Bloom will play against type as the villainous Duke of Buckingham.

File this one under unsubstantiated — but interesting — rumors.
In what could be a rather inspired bit of casting, E! Online’s Ted Casablanca is reporting that Kristen Stewart is being looked at as a replacement for Angelina Jolie in the sequel to the so-so action film, Wanted.
While I personally had difficulty understanding how the filmmakers could bring back Jolie’s character for a sequel since I thought, Spoiler Alert…….she died at the end of the first film…… End Spoiler Alert. Now, the idea of having Kristen Stewart as a pistol packing babe paired with the rather dull James McAvoy may bring me to the multiplex out on opening night. Say what you will about the Twilight franchise and their fan base, but Stewart is an actress very capable of being a badass.
However, even E! is saying the chances of this actually happening are “slim,” and Stewart has the last Twilight movie,...

Bff’s — Do you believe the shocking new report that Rob cheated on Kristen with Gossip Girl Leighton Meester?
Here’s the jaw-dropping claim in this week’s new In Touch magazine. In Touch asserts that Rob Pattinson, 23, had a hot hookup with Leighton, at her New York City apartment one night and didn’t leave until the next morning.
The insider who claims he witnessed the shocking incident says, “He ducked out of the building and hopped into a waiting car. He even carried an overnight bag.”
The mag claims they have a friends of Leighton’s confirming the affair and saying that the pair remain in constant contact, both talking and texting.
Now, coincidentally, Leighton, 24, and her boyfriend of over a year, actor Sebastian Stan, 26, happened to have split recently.
But here’s the Big question: what could possibly be the date of this encounter? R-Patz hasn’t...

Maybe this is the real deal. Walking the red carpet for Remember Me, Robert Pattinson's new film, Kristen Stewart surprised even longtime Robsten watchers by showing up to support the film. And looking lovely in leather, as well. Is the beginning of something a little more public for the rumored romancers?
