It’s a new year, and with it Microsoft have brought several new games to the Xbox One‘s backwards compatibility service. Are they the titles you’ve been waiting to see since the service began last year? Not likely, there’s some really obscure stuff on the list this time around.
Besides The Witcher 2: Assassins Of Kings and Counter-Strike: Go, you’re not likely to recognise many of the other games present for January’s update. But hey, there must be a large enough audience for the likes of Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad – they are, after all, voted for (in part) by Xbox owners.
You can check out the full list below.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
Sam & Max Save the World
Aegis Wing
Counter-Strike: Go
Age of Booty
Space Giraffe
Soulcalibur
Skullgirls
Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad
Small Arms

The film features the biggest names in extreme sports, all baring their souls in an unprecedented fashion. They take viewers on a thrilling ride behind the scenes of a sport where insanity and defying gravity go hand-in-hand.
The creative team includes Director/Producer/Writer Taublieb, also known for the acclaimed feature documentary "Fastest," about MotoGP racing, and the Emmy Award-winning "Hawaiian: The Legend of Eddie Aikau," and Freeman, whose seminal video series "Crusty Demons of Dirt" helped create the sport itself, along with executive producers Susan Cooper ("The Vow"), Brian O'Shea, Jeff Bowler and Nat McCormick and features Carey Hart, Tony Hawk, Travis Pastrana, Danny Way, Mike Metzger and Jeremy McGrath.

As pick-up-and-play arcade racers go, Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad - developed by 2Xl Games and published by Reverb – is a competent enough game to justify your $10 or 800 Ms points. As long as you don’t go into this expecting dozens of hours of gameplay or a deep, strategic campaign, anyone looking for a quick dose of racing off the paved road will find some satisfaction here.
Jeremy McGrath is as much a part of this game as John Madden used to be in his own NFL series – a name to put on the title to sell copies to fans who recognize him. The difference here is that McGrath actually participates in this game, although it is limited to his voice and a still photo that pops up when he narrates in-game help boxes… non-stop. McGrath makes every effort to let you know what you need to do at all times,...

Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad brings down-and-dirty vehicle racing to digital gaming platforms. With a variety of levels to race in and cars to use, the game has good intentions and some well thought out ideas. To counter that, there are problems with repetitive gameplay, as well as an unbalanced online system. Despite these flaws, the game offers a decent value for its $10 price tag, which racing fans might be interested in.
Players can do single races in an Arcade mode, several circuits in a Career mode, or race online against up to seven other players. The tracks provided with the game have a good amount of visual variety, taking place in canyons, jungles, or even farms. There are even some visual flairs that are unique to each level, such as rockslides in the canyon and small planes flying low overhead at the farm. Overall, the game’s graphics are good for a lower-budget downloadable title,...
