It took some 35 years, but ‘80s metal band Ratt has finally returned to television screens with the sort of frequency it hasn’t seen since its MTV days.
In a popular campaign for Geico’s home and car insurance bundles called “Ratt Problem,” frontman Stephen Pearcy and his bandmates illustrate an unexpected nuisance for homeowners. The group’s biggest hit, 1984’s “Round & Round,” becomes a metaphor on repeat as the band pops up in popular rodent spots like the basement, kitchen and bathroom.
The spot has amassed more than 8 million views on YouTube, and has aired north of 10,000 times since April 13, with an estimated media spend of $21.1 million, according to iSpot.TV. It’s also been aided in its popularity by being one of the first humorous spots from a major brand to debut post-quarantine, when the tone has shifted to more somber, united-together messaging.
“We definitely talked about the timing on our side,...

In June 2019, Stephen Pearcy and Juan Croucier confirmed that the band, Ratt, would be releasing new music in 2020. The two band members added that they would be in charge of writing new songs, and by December 2019, Stephen disclosed that he had 15 songs already demoed. He said that since Juan was also writing more while Jordan was giving his ideas, they would not lack any music to share with their fans. The band has even planned a tour starting in May 2020, hoping the lockdown will have been lifted by then. While it would be good to

There’s no telling whom Dave Grohl will team up with next. The Foo Fighters leader is now headed into the studio with Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini. Ratt lead singer Pearcy tweeted today: “Warren and I are doing a song for a project with @foofightersDave. We’ll let him tell you about when he’s ready kidz. Not for a Ratt record.” Don't bother looking for an update from Grohl's Twitter page: the last tweet is from 2009. The Foos are still mining tracks from their excellent Grammy-nominated 2011 album “Wasting Light,” which made my list of top 10 albums of 2011. ...

Former hair-metal frontman was best known for hit 'Cherry Pie.'

Jani Lane, the golden-haired former lead singer of 1980s hair-metal band Warrant, was found dead on Thursday in a hotel room in Woodland Hills, California.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, police found the body of Lane (born John Kennedy Oswald), 47, at a Comfort Inn, with no cause of death available at press time. Lane was best known for the Warrant hit "Cherry Pie," which he wrote and which featured a guitar solo by Poison's C.C. DeVille. The double entendre-filled video for the song — packed, of course, with a bevy of video vixens — was a staple of MTV programming when it was released in 1990.
The singer was born in Akron, Ohio, on February 1, 1964. He began his career as a teenage drummer before moving to Florida and playing in a series of metal bands.

Ratt's frontman Stephen Pearcy is preparing to return to the stage on Wednesday, July 21 to resume the band's world tour, six weeks after undergoing hernia surgery. Ratt was forced to cancel the European leg of its World Infestation tour with German band Scorpions while the rocker underwent the operation in June.
But Pearcy has made a full recovery, and he's eager to get back on the road. He tells Blabbermouth.net, "Despite the forced break with my surgery, I'm feeling better and being out here on tour with the Scorpions is rehabilitating, to say the least. We're doing different songs from (the album) Infestation and they are going over great! We're mixing up our set and kicking some a**. It's a Scorpion sting with some Ratt 'n' Roll!"

English music: Here’s what you want on your iPod, recommends Luke Kenny. InfestationRattRoadrunner Records**1/2One of the big metal bands of the 1980s makes a comeback after 11 years. It’s the original line-up that has Stephen Pearcy on vocals and Warren Dimartini on guitars, with the exception of Carlos Cavazo, who joins them from Quiet Riot (remember them?). Anyway, Ratt were a huge success in the ’80s, and at the height of their powers, stood up there with other stalwarts like Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Poison, Warrant, Def Leppard, Skid Row and the Scorpionsm among others. Now, while most of the classic ’80s sound ...
