From the film's description: The film is about bringing social change, and a change in the mindset of people about caste discrimination which has been an unfortunate social reality and human rights issue in India for centuries. The film is based on a short story by Prof. (Dr) Ajay Navaria.

Set in 4:3 frame, the movie begins with a number of people talking under a tree, when Ramnarayan Tiwari, a Brahmin (dominant/privileged community/caste in India), arrives in his SUV, bringing candy to them and even giving one to a Dalit (oppressed caste considered untouchables for centuries in India) in the vicinity, to the surprise to everyone around. Soon, however, it is revealed that the whole thing was Tiwari's dream and that the Dalit is actually his boss in the public service they both work in, Narottam Saroj.

The franchise was revived in 2013 with “Aashiqui 2,” directed by Mohit Suri and starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, which was also a box office success.
The second part of the musical love story was a spiritual successor rather than a direct sequel and the third part will continue in that vein. Pritam, who has a long and successful working relationship with Basu, having composed the hit scores of several of his films, including “Barfi!,” “Gangster” and “Life in a… Metro,” will provide the songs.

Rumours have been rife lately that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are planning to get married. Alia's close family members have, however, clarified that the Bollywood couple is not getting hitched anytime soon.
The buzz started after some media portals floated unconfirmed reports that Alia has placed an order for a wedding lehenga with ace fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. This, because the "Raazi" star was spotted outside the designer's store in Mumbai.
On Friday, Alia's producer uncle Mukesh Bhatt squashed all such rumours.
"This is utter rubbish. Who is spreading these rumours?" Mukesh said.
Alia's step-brother Rahul Bhatt also snubbed the news as fake.

Mumbai, Oct 2: Actor-producer Pooja Bhatt, who was in the news for producing "Bad", has walked out of the project with the title. She says it was a mutual decision.
"I am not part of the film anymore. It was a decision, which was taken purely for financial reason and was mutually taken by me and my partner," Pooja, director of films like "Paap" and "Jism 2", told Ians.
"For me, the budget is the king. No matter how good the script is, if the economics don't sync well, it don't work. I am trained under Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt and I took the decision as it was not financially feasible," she added.
