Microsoft and Ubisoft unveiled a cinematic trailer on Sunday for “Star Wars: Outlaws,” the first open world “Star Wars” video game which will be launched next year.
The trailer, which aired during the Xbox Games Showcase, introduces fans to Kay Vess, a young smuggler desperate for a way out as she is hunted by the criminal syndicates that have prospered under the Galactic Empire’s reign and who are the true power on the backwater planets where Kay struggles to survive.
The game will be set between “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi,” as evidenced by a shot in the trailer of Han Solo frozen in carbonite. The trailer shows Kay getting chased out of a bar by syndicate soldiers with her alien animal companion Nix. She gets a visit from a fellow smuggler named Jaylen, who offers her a chance at a dangerous mission with the promise that if she succeeds,...

In Thursday night’s episode of “Law & Order,” Mehcad Brooks’ police detective character Jalen Shaw find himself inadvertently perpetuating the racism of the prison system when he learns, too late, that a young male suspect whose confession he’s obtained is actually innocent.
“This young man is waiting for his trial. He’s been at Rikers for 18 months, he’s being abused and assaulted on Rikers on a daily basis. So he decides to escape. We find out that he’s innocent, through a video that never surfaced later. And then the problem is, during his escape, the kid takes a hostage, and things go sideways,” Brooks says of the episode, titled “The System.”
“There’s a system in place that is filled with traps for people,” Brooks said of the episode. “Jalen became a lawyer and a cop to fight the system in particular, this setup for stealing Black people’s joy,...

Stephen Huzar is a busy man.
He's been in many Hallmark productions, including Chesapeake Shores and various movies, and on Sunday, December 4, you can catch him in Undercover Holiday as a bodyguard playing boyfriend to pop star Jaylen (Noémi González)
We caught up with Stephen before the holidays to talk about Undercover Holiday and being an incredibly busy working actor.
Stephen joined Chesapeake Shores late in its run, but he said working on it was like a dream. At the time we spoke, he was with family and catching up on the series with his mother and sister in Saskatchewan.
He's close to his family and spends as much time with them as possible. He's on the road a lot, so making time for his loved ones keeps him grounded in a crazy industry.
Stephen didn't aim for an acting career. He got a business degree and worked in finance...

Seconds after hitting the red carpet outside NeueHouse Hollywood on Thursday night, Jennifer Garner stopped posing momentarily to ask the row of photographers a quick question (or two).
“What do you think? Is she doing a good job?” Garner asked, referring to the woman standing to her left, power publicist and Lede Company co-founder and co-ceo Meredith O’Sullivan. Garner then turned to face O’Sullivan, adjusted the lapels of her black tuxedo jacket and faux-straightened her white dress shirt, like a publicist might do for a client ahead of a gala like the one about to unfold.
The gesture perfectly telegraphed how the tables turned for the special event as Garner showed up to honor O’Sullivan, her longtime publicist and “dear friend,” someone used to shining a light on her A-list clients, not the other way around.
