DIRECTORIAL BACKGROUND-
Swachata started her directorial journey by directing a mythological dance drama at the age of 11.
She First-class honors graduate in Dramatics.

Since then he has directed theaters, short films, documentary & off-off Broadway theater which have been staged in New York & New Jersey so far.
Swachata has vivid memories of herself as a little girl, entranced by the magic of watching her father performing in television serials, while she sat next to him. Her parents put her in a school system where Bengali was the first language. This decision, and her modest upbringing in a small town on the outskirts of Kolkata, gave Swachata a firm foundation in the rich literary, artistic, and cultural traditions of Bengal.
Swachata's parents encouraged her to pursue her cherished dream of becoming a professional actress and advised her to study the craft of acting on both stage and screen. She is extremely influenced by her artist father Sanjiban Guha. He not only contributed as an actor in the Bengali film industry but was actively involved in North American Bengali Conference for years.
Her acting journey began with theatre in Kolkata, where she performed and directed plays, and took part in dance dramas. Through her hard work, she earned a First-Class Honours degree in Dramatics. Swachata then worked as an assistant script writer and director in Bengali television, to gain more experience "behind the scenes."
In 2008, she started her studies at FTII. The versatile training helped Swachata master professional skills and taught her how to be a responsible, ethical, and dedicated artist. She especially gained a reverence towards the labor involved behind the camera. She feels blessed to have had many respected teachers: Adil Aman, Paintal ji, Vipinchandra Naria, Divakaran ji, Anil Srivastava, Jethu Mandal, Arvind Pandey, Ashwath Bhatt, Alok Chatterjee, Saurabh Shukla and Mita Vashisht.
Swachata has worked with directors like Subhash Ghai, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Anurag Basu. She was in the acting faculty at Whistling Woods International and the Institute of Creative Excellence.
Her Bollywood films are - LOOTERA, JAB TUM KAHO & GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE.
TV SERIES-TAGORE STORIES-NETFLIX. Her short film -"Khane mein kya hain" crossed more than 13 million views & She has acted in 20 plays so far. In her entire career, she has acted in (English-Hindi-Bengali) 3 languages. She has directed dance drama, short films, documentary, proscenium & digital theatre.
The life path chosen by artists is difficult. Swachata faced her own career challenges with fortitude, patience, and faith. The cutthroat competitiveness in the industry can often demoralize artists, but Swachata never gave up. She worked hard to perfect her Hindi and learned English as an adult.
Since 2020, After immigrating to the USA, she joined the global cast of British web series on Shakespeare -The show must go online (TSMGO) thrice (KING LEAR, ANTONY & CLEOPATRA, MEASURE FOR MEASURE) & got nominated by groundling choice awards by (TSMGO-UK) for her singing. She has acted, directed & produced her first off-off-Broadway play production - "The Marriage Proposal" a multilingual comedy play in 2021, New York. She did - The off-Broadway play "For your consideration" which premiered last July in Daryl Roth Theatre, New York.
And as an actor, director & producer she brought a huge diversity - in 16th South Asian Theatre Festival with her play - "Silence the court is in session" which premiered last 6th August in New Brunswick Performing Arts Center, NJ. Her upcoming Production is for NATYADARPAN FESTIVAL 2022.
