Exclusive: Former Blue Ant Media execs Solange Attwood and Asha Daniere have launched an “internationally-focused, next generation studio business” out of Canada.
Serial Maven Studios has been launched around a strategy of unscripted IP ownership, with Attwood CEO and Daniere the President. The company will focus on finding new models for development, financing, production, distribution and content monetization.
“We are a next generation studio whose primary purpose is intellectual property,” Attwood told Deadline. “We are headquartered in Canada with global reach, and ultimately, we provide big company experience in a bespoke and solution-driven size.”
Attwood was previously EVP of Blue Ant International, building Blue Ant’s sales and co-productions business from scratch and leading the strategic direction of the unit. She oversaw office launches in Toronto, London, New York, Singapore and Australia.
She exited Blue Ant in September after a ten-year stretch at the company, just before Canada’s Drag...

Olivia Attwood has opened up about her “massively frustrating” departure from I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.
The former Love Island contestant entered the Australian jungle earlier this month, but had to leave the series just one day in “as a precautionary measure” in order to “undergo some medical checks”.
Attwood has since revealed that a routine blood test, which all the jungle campmates undergo randomly throughout the show, disclosed that she was dangerously anaemic.
Results also showed concerningly low sodium and potassium levels, which prompted ITV staff to take Attwood to A&e, despite the star maintaining she felt “absolutely fine”. Further tests at the hospital showed up normal.
Appearing on This Morning on Monday (14 November), Attwood revealed that the show’s production team considered sending her back to the jungle, but ultimately decided against it due to an issue with “insurance”.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is getting into the thick of it now and, while Olivia Attwood had to leave early for medical reasons, we will soon see more stars going home at the hands of the public vote.
The public will be tasked with voting off contestants until only one star remains and they are crowned Queen or King of the Jungle.
In previous years, campmates were being voted off the show after approximately 10 days or episodes. This means that viewers can expect to say goodbye to the first celebrity around Wednesday 16 November.
This page will be updated when there is confirmation of the date.
Although no stars have been booted out of the camp yet, Love Island star Attwood was forced to quit after just one day.

I’m a Celebrity’s first Bushtucker Trial has resulted in some viewer concerns over Chris Moyles’s safety.
During Monday night’s (7 November) episode of the much-loved survival programme, four contestants took part in the first big task of the season, in order to win meals for the camp.
Moyles, Boy George, Scarlette Douglas and Olivia Attwood had been selected via a public vote to compete in a trial named “Hms Drown Under”.
While Moyles and Boy George were placed in tanks with goggles over their eyes, Attwood and Douglas were in charge of unscrewing taps that were hidden in small holes in a wall, dodging spiders, snakes, entrails and other unsavoury items.
As Attwood and Douglas unscrewed, Moyles and Boy George’s tanks began to fill with cold water that steadily rose as the challenge progressed.
As time went on, the Radio X DJ became increasingly nervous.

Hancock has been given access to his phone and laptop during his isolation, allowing him to continue working and stay in touch with constituents.

I’m a Celebrity 2022 is a matter of weeks away, and the first contestants are seemingly being revealed.
This year’s series will be extra special for viewers considering it’s been 20 years since DJ Tony Blackburn was crowned King of the Jungle in the iTV reality show’s first ever run.
To mark the occasion, a selection of ex-contestants are currently filming an All Stars edition of the show in South Africa, which won’t be broadcast until 2023. (Find out who’s rumoured to be taking part here).
Before that, though, there’s the small matter of the main show – and fans are now wondering who will be appearing following the release of a first trailer on ITV on Friday (7 October).
Excitingly, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have confirmed the series will return to the Australian jungle – and a launch date has reportedly been set for Sunday 6 November.

Short-format Drama
Ghy Culture & Media, a mainland China-focused entertainment company from Singapore, has launched a slate of short drama series that it says mirror the professionally-generated short format developed by Chinese platforms Douyin and Bilibili. Its first three are fantasy “Goddess Hotel,” urban fantasy-light comedy “Miss Tanya” and sci-fi comedy “Ability Bureau.” Each short drama series is slated to run for 2 or 3 seasons, with 12 to 16 episodes per season, and each episode delivered at approximately 3 minutes. Involving Singapore production teams and actors, each project is estimated to cost between S350,000 to S1.6 million to produce. Ghy describes the slate as Singapore-China collaborations, but it does not disclose if there is a Chinese co-producer. Instead, it reveals that they will be simultaneously released on Douyin and TikTok, Douyin’s global English counterpart, with versions in English, Bahasa Indonesian and Thai.
