Executive Producer/ Writer Kimberly Gray is the General
Partner and Producer of 77 Films. As a filmmaker she has taken many
projects from the conceptual stage to project completion. Ms. Gray
began her career in the fashion industry as a celebrity stylist and
fashion editor working with Janet Jackson, Gisele Bündchen, and Susan
Sarandon. Her first feature film work was on Spike Lee's "Summer of
Sam". As a producer her first film "Life on Christopher St." is about
Black and Latino gay youth in Manhattan's West Village it was a
critical success and festival favorite. After which, Ms Gray began to
produce documentary segments for MTV and Channel Thirteen. She was
associate producer on the HBO documentary "Bastard of the Party" about
the history of Los Angeles street gangs The Bloods and Crips. Directed
by Cle Sloan and Executive Produced by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day,
King Arthur). She then went on to produce the US and Brazil production
of "The Man Who Bottled Clouds" a documentary about Brazilian composer
Humberto Teixeira featuring artists David Byrne and Bebel Gilberto.
This was followed by "Out in Manhattan", a three part series on gay
culture in New York, featuring "Chelsea Boys" and "PRIDE". Now, with
the latest project "Case Work" her interest in social issues and child
welfare are again at the forefront of her work.
