Exclusive: Ahead of the anticipated release of Warner Bros & DC’s Superman, where she plays lead female villain Angela Spica aka The Engineer, Venezuelan actress María Gabriela de Faría has signed with Impression Entertainment for management.

NBC just delivered news that surprised no one, announcing the renewals of both Law & Order and Law & Order: Svu. As expected, the popular dramas will remain important pieces of the network’s primetime lineup.

Law & Order: Svu will return for season 27, while Law & Order was renewed for its 25th season. NBC didn’t confirm returning cast for either show, but it’s expected that Mariska Hargitay and Ice T will continue to lead the Svu cast. Unfortunately, Octavio Pisano (Det. Joe Velasco) and Juliana Aidén Martinez (Det. Kate Silva) will not be returning as series regulars. And the series will have a new showrunner when the new season begins production, with Michele Fazekas on board as the long-running drama’s first female showrunner.

We should still have two hours of Law & Order filling a weeknight during the 2025-2026 season. NBC is keeping its Law & Order franchise intact for another season. The Dick Wolf-created Law & Order and Law & Order: Svu have both just been renewed for the 2025-26 broadcast season.

Per Deadline, Law & Order will return for its 25th season, while Svu will be back for its 27th. The renewals come less than a week after it was reported that Svu stars Juliana Martinez and Octavio Pisano were finished as series regulars. Martinez joined the Svu cast this season as Detective Kate Silva, while Pisano has been with the drama series since Season 23 as undercover detective Joe Velasco. It is unknown at this time whether the Season 26 finale, "Post-Rage," set to air on NBC on May 15, will wrap up the characters' storylines. If not, a reason for their absences will likely be mentioned offhand next season.

Svu, headlined by Mariska Hargitay, will return for a record 27th season. Law & Order, which took a 12-year cancellation break, will be back for its 25th season. Both are having their best seasons on Peacock in total viewers in Live+35, having reached combined more than 44 million total viewers across linear and digital platforms this season.

The two Law & Order renewals were never in doubt: as Deadline reported exclusively, in anticipation of Svu‘s pickup, the series last month tapped Michele Fazekas as new showrunner, the first woman to run the veteran procedural.

In “Sins of the Father,” when a car mechanic is murdered execution-style, Detectives Jalen Shaw (Mehcad Brooks) and Vincent Riley (Reid Scott) suspect his job was a cover for more sinister talents. As the trial gets underway for the arrested suspect, Baxter, Price, and Maroun are faced with who should answer for the crime. Law & Order promised an ambitious crossover, and it did not disappoint. The flagship series and Law & Order: Svu joined forces for a two-part storyline titled "Play with Fire," and it did a great job when it comes to incorporating different characters into a compelling investigation. Here's what you need to know about the crossover, and what went down. Spoilers, obviously.

The crossover event begins with an Ice raid on a homeless shelter. We watch as two women split up and manage to outrun their potential captors, and agree to reunite at a youth hostel. The only issue is, one of them, "Sofia", never showed. The other women then stumbled upon a burnt body in an oil drum and determined that it was "Sofia." Horrified, she calls Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) to help figure out what happened.

With just two days to go until the highly anticipated Law & Order and Special Victims Unitcrossover event, we're getting a clearer picture of what to expect. Law & Order showrunner Rick Eid sat down with TVInsider ahead of the crossover to talk about the dynamics and possible hiccups that may come with seeing the 2-7 and 1-6 join forces again. Eid explains:

“The episodes will feel like a two-hour movie,” says Eid, “while it’s still in keeping with Law & Order‘s format of the police investigating a crime and the attorneys prosecuting the offenders. We’ll also find the Da’s office conversing with detectives as they get closer to arresting a suspect, and some of our detectives will take the stand in court.”

The two-parter, "Play With Fire" will revisit the Svu case from the episode "911" after the girl Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) rescued in Season 7, has now been murdered.

Things might not be all sunshine and rainbows when the 2-7 and the 1-6 join forces again in the upcoming Law & Order crossover. This Thursday's crossover between Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, "Play With Fire" parts 1 and 2 will bring the 27th and 16th precincts together after the murder of a woman with personal ties to Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). According to Law & Order showrunner, Rick Eid, the crossover will inevitably see Benson and Maura Tierney's Lieutenant Jessica Brady butting heads. He tells TVInsider:

“Benson and Brady have the same goal,” Eid explains, “but may not always arrive at it in the same way.”

The possibility of a conflict between Benson and Brady is more apparent in Svu's crossover promo, rather than in the one for Law & Order. In the promo for "Play With Fire" part 2, Benson seemingly says to Brady "sometimes you have to ask for forgiveness instead of permission.

Law & Order laid the groundwork for the Dick Wolf television world we all live in today. The franchise has been around since 1990, and incredibly, has managed to keep pace with the various Wolf shows that have followed in its wake. Part of the reason why is the franchise's ability to stage memorable and impressive crossover events.

Law & Order has made a point of setting up at least one crossover a season for the past few years, and 2025 is no exception in this regard. Law & Order and Law & Order: Svu will be joining forces for a two part event on Thursday, April 17 (Law & Order: Organized Crime will close out the block but not be connected in terms of story). It's a tried and true formula, but this crossover is going to be different from all the rest, according to franchise showrunner Rick Eid.

The 2024 film follows Ana Santos, an aspiring art intern who is invited on a last-minute work trip to London, where she meets William, a handsome stranger who mistakes Ana for an art director. Venom: The Last Dance is wrapping up its time in theaters, meaning that its final box office haul is now available. According to Box Office Mojo as of Sunday, December 8, the Tom Hardy-starring film has a domestic haul of $139 million and a foreign gross of $333 million, adding up to $473 million globally. Given Venom 3's reported budget of $120 million, this makes the film a modest success. However, it comes up short when compared to the other films in the series with 2018's Venom and 2021's Venom: Let There Be Carnage grossing about $213 domestically.

UK network ITV has ordered a local version of Banijay’s adventure reality series The Summit and will launch. a local version in 2025.
