SonyLIV is set to introduce “Million Dollar Listing: India,” marking the second international adaptation of the Emmy-nominated real estate reality franchise. Produced by EndemolShine India, the series will debut with a focus on New Delhi’s luxury property market.

The show joins SonyLIV’s lineup of unscripted content, following the platform’s success with “Shark Tank India” and “MasterChef India.” “Million Dollar Listing: India” will showcase high-end properties and offer viewers an inside look at luxury real estate transactions in the country.

Banijay Asia has set its first leadership team since acquiring Endemol Shine India. Five execs have been upped, with Rishi Negi becoming Group Chief Operating Officer, Mrinalini Jain taking on Group Chief Development Officer, Shyam Rathi Group Chief Financial Officer, Lalit Sharma Head – Legal and Fiona Machado Head – Hr. Big Brother and MasterChef maker Banijay Asia bought out CA Media’s 49% shareholding in Endemol Shine India earlier this year and Deepak Dhar oversees the combined entity. “Our mission has always been to create exceptional content that captivates audiences across India and beyond. Banijay has taken full control of Endemol Shine India.

The move sees the Big Brother and MasterChef indie giant buying out CA Media’s 49% shareholding in Endemol Shine India for an undisclosed amount.

Banijay Asia CEO Deepak Dhar takes on the same role at Endemol Shine India, with the fate of former Chief Exec Rishi Negi not immediately clear at press time. Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India will effectively become much closer and sit alongside each other under Dhar’s purview.

Dhar previously led Endemol’s Indian business between 2005 and 2018, before becoming the founder of Banijay Asia as a joint venture with Banijay. He now oversees the wider group’s content strategies, partnerships, new business and alliances. CA Media had owned 49% of Endemol Shine India since 2012.

According to Banijay, Dhar will “finesse the structure” of Banijay in Asia in coming weeks and create new group-wide roles and dedicated creative positions at the two labels.

Endemol Shine India, a Banijay company, and Black Knight Films, have announced they will be adapting the hit Danish/Swedish scripted series, Bron/Broen (The Bridge). The all-new original Hindi edition will star Saif Ali Khan, who will also jointly produce the project under the Black Knight Films banner. The concept of The Bridge has universal appeal, as it can be understood and appreciated by a global audience that is used to living in a world of borders.

Banijay’s Endemol Shine India and Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan’s Black Knight Films will adapt hit Danish/Swedish scripted series “Bron/Broen” (“The Bridge”) for Indian audiences.

” ‘The Bridge’ is actually something that I was actively looking to produce. So I went looking for it,” Khan told Variety.

The original show opens with a dead body on a border that is shared by two countries and the discovery leads to a joint investigation by the police forces of the two regions, forcing detectives from both sides to work together to solve the crime. The global success of “The Bridge” – which has aired in 188 countries – has led to its adaptation in multiple languages, set across the international borders of U.S./Mexico, U.K./France, Germany/Austria, Singapore/Malaysia and Russia/Estonia.

The Hindi-language adaptation will also star Khan in the role of Martin, which Kim Bodnia played in the original.

A sports biopic and feature film on the life of the pride of India, a sportsperson who fought against all odds to win titles for our country, Indian long-distance runner, Lalita Shivaji Babar has been announced this Republic Day with a poster reveal. The film is scheduled to release 1 year from now, i.e. on 26th January 2024. The lead of the film will be played by ‘Chandramukhi’ actor, Amruta Khanvilkar. “Gulab,” a film by Sanjoy Nag, now playing in the Viewing Room section of the Nfdc’s Film Bazaar market in Goa, is the first product of a slate of upcoming feature film productions from Endemol Shine India.

The company, part of the giant Banijay conglomerate, is best known as a global power in the TV production and distribution sector, but it is also close to finishing several film productions by South Asian directors. These include a slice of life social drama on aging and relevance directed by Gajendra Ahire; a social comedy by Nicholas Kharkongor; a romantic comedy by Seema Desai; and a paranormal drama by Samrat Chakraborty.

With the exception of “Gulab,” the company declined to reveal titles, synopses or casting details. “All the films are targeting a digital release in 2023,” Rishi Negi, CEO, Endemol Shine India, told Variety. Though some festival play or limited theatrical releases may be possible.

Actress Aishwarya Rajesh, best known for having delivered spectacular performances in critically acclaimed superhits such as ‘Kaaka Muttai’, ‘Kanaa’ and ‘Vada Chennai’, will next play the lead in a Tamil-Hindi bilingual that’s been titled ‘Manik’.

Actress Tisca Chopra, who will be seen playing an Ias Officer in the supernatural thriller series ‘Dahan’, shared that she experienced certain energies and also some “weird incidents” that have no explanation.

Directed by Vikranth Pawar and written by Nisarg Mehta, Shiva Bajpai and Nikhil Nair, the series features paranormal occurrences in a quaint, rustic village of Shilaspura, also known as the ‘The Land of The Dead’.

When Tisca was asked about any incidents that she has experienced in life, she had an interesting tale to narrate.

Actor Tisca said: “I most certainly have experienced certain energies, also some weird incidents that have no explanation. One on the Western Express Highway was super scary. Late one night, a terrible accident happened right in front of our eyes, we saw a woman die and when we came back to look for the body, there was nothing!”

Actress Tisca Chopra, who is set to play an Ias officer in her upcoming thriller series ‘Dahan – Raakan ka Rahasya’, shared that the show captures the essence of raw fear as every character involved in the show has its own demons to battle.

The series is a dark tale of myths and superstition and touches upon society, its beliefs and challenges its characters to face their deepest and darkest fears.

Opening up on the show, the actress said: “What I love most about ‘Dahan – Raakan ka Rahasya’ is how it captures raw fear as each character faces their own demons. Avani Raut, my character, fights personal and professional battles when she is caught in the crossfire of superstition and the supernatural and resin and practicality on the other.”

The show takes off when a mining expedition threatens the village fabled with a temple that legends say can unleash a deadly curse when harmed.

Following the departure of Abhishek Rege, Banijay has appointed Rishi Negi as CEO of Endemol Shine India. Negi joins from Banijay Asia, where he has served as Chief Operating Officer. In his new role, he will oversee the existing team, day-to-day affairs and productions.

At Banijay Asia, Negi supported CEO Deepak Dhar and the wider business, with all operational, commercial, financial and general business-driven strategic matters. He joined the group with over two decades of experience in hospitality, entertainment, and retail, having worked for the Taj Group of hotels and Emerald Asia Media Fame India Limited, among others.

Negi will report to Banijay COO, Peter Langengerg, who oversees the region.
