Sithabile Mkhize

Sithabile Mkhize is a screenwriter and producer based in Durban, South Africa who is interested in telling stories that deepen our capacity for empathy while interrogating the structures that make us who we are. She has been active in the film industry since 2018 and produced one completed feature film, Dreams of Gomorrah, for which she also wrote the screenplay and it has won several local awards including two "Simon Sabela Awards", two "African Emerging Filmmaker" awards and acquired by MNet (a South African broadcaster). She has produced two television documentaries for local broadcaster, ETV, called Education Shall Be Free, aired in 2018, and #AmINext?, a documentary about the country's problem with gender based violence which was released in 2021.
