(Updated with more details) The Vice President is no longer heading to late-night.
VP Kamala Harris was set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tomorrow night (Tuesday April 16).
However, her appearance has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. Though the VP did end up flying back into LA from her quick trip to Las Vegas today, and not going to DC, no reason for Harris’ absence from the ABC late nighter was given.
However, the White House has announced that the Vice President “will participate in a campaign event” later in the day on Tuesday. Kimmel usually films that night’s show in the late afternoon — which is around the same time the Veep’s campaign event appears to be occurring.
If Harris had appeared on Kimmel on Tuesday, it would have been her second appearance on the ABC show. The past California Senator previously sat...

Exclusive: Vice President Kamala Harris is heading back to late-night.
Deadline understands that Harris will appear as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday April 16.
It is her latest appearance on the ABC show; Harris previously appeared on Kimmel’s show in March 2019, when she was running for top office.
During that appearance, she talked about the campaign trail, said “age is more than a chronological fact” when asked whether Biden or Senator Bernie Sanders were too old to run for President, and noted that she was “open to the discussion” of getting rid of the Electoral college.
Kimmel has previously defended Vice President Harris’ low approval ratings, blaming “sexism and racism”.
Last year, Harris appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and in 2022 made her first late-night appearance since becoming VP on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where she talked up her administration’s plans to fight climate change,...

Jimmy Kimmel hosts ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ (ABC/Randy Holmes)
Has it really been 20 years? Apparently so, and ABC’s celebrating the 20th anniversary of Jimmy Kimmel Live! with a special episode airing in primetime.
The anniversary episode will air on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 10pm Et/Pt with the late-night show’s original lineup of guests on board to help Kimmel celebrate. George Clooney, Snoop Dogg, and Coldplay were Kimmel’s guests on the show’s first episode, which aired on January 26, 2003. (Coldplay’s Chris Martin will represent the group for the anniversary special.)
“20 years. I can’t believe it either,” said Kimmel. “It makes absolutely no sense.”
“As everybody might imagine, it feels like it went by in the blink of an eye and it also feels like it’s been going on since the Middle Ages,” said Kimmel, speaking with Variety. “But it definitely gives me a sense of accomplishment.

Jimmy Kimmel is no longer vacillating.
The comedian is staying in late-night after extending his contract with ABC for a further three years.
The deal ends a year of speculation within the late-night community after Kimmel told Howard Stern that he was debating whether to stick or twist.
Cancellations/Renewals Scorecard: TV Shows Ended Or Continuing In 2021-22 Season
The pact will keep Kimmel as host and exec producer of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! through its 23rd season. January will mark the 20th anniversary of the show, which premiered in January 2003.
The deal means that he will surpass Jay Leno, who hosted NBC’s The Tonight Show for 22 years — though Kimmel still has a few years to go to catch up to Conan O’Brien, who spent 28 years in late-night; Johnny Carson, who hosted The Tonight Show for 30 years; and Kimmel’s hero David Letterman, who spent 33 years in late-night.

ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” has named Erin Irwin, Molly McNearney and Jennifer Sharron as executive producers. All three previously served as co-executive producers. Kimmel also continues as executive producer; Irwin, McNearney and Sharron fill the void left when former executive producer Sharon Hoffman left in January after a brief run.
“Erin, Molly and Jen are great producers who run what I believe is the best team in television,” Kimmel said. “I am very lucky to have them. This promotion is long overdue and well-deserved.”
All three are “Jimmy Kimmel Live” vets, and some even pre-date the ABC show with Kimmel. Irwin, for example, has worked with Kimmel for more than 23 years, starting as a producer on the pilot of “The Man Show” in 1998. She’s been producing “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” for 17 years, starting as a supervising producer and then a co-executive producer, which she has held for ten years.

Sharon Hoffman is leaving as executive producer of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” after a short tenure in the role that started in May.
The decision to part ways is said to be mutual, according to a person familiar with the matter, with both parties deciding they had not struck upon a good fit. A spokeswoman for the late-night program confirmed the departure, but declined to offer any detail. THR previously reported her exit.

Presidential candidate Kanye West isn’t evidently pinning too many hopes on winning the election after setting an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The rapper will feature on the ABC late-night show on Wednesday November 4.
West has qualified for ballot access in 12 states but his run hasn’t been particularly smooth as he lost appeals in five states including Arizona, Ohio and Wisconsin, and missed deadline in a further 29 states.
He recently told podcast host Joe Rogan that while there was an outside chance of him winning the 2020 race, he would be “definitely 100% winning” in 2024.
“It was something that God put in my heart back in 2015. A few days before the MTV awards it hit me in the shower,” West told Rogan. “When I first thought of it, I just started laughing to myself and all this joy came over my body, through my soul.”

Late Tuesday night, the confirmation hearing for President-elect Donald Trump‘s Education Secretary nominee, Betsy DeVos, got underway after significant back-and-forth in the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.
DeVos, the billionaire former chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, struggled through tough questioning by the committee’s Democratic members and gave responses that ignited Internet uproar over her readiness for the position as the nation’s top education policy-maker and policy-enforcer.
Tennessee Sen. Lamar Alexander, the committee’s Republican chairman, pushed the hearing to an atypical 5 p.m. start time, and allowed each member only one round of five-minute questions.

Steven Soderbergh's Erin Brokovich (2000) is playing July 17 - August 16, 2016 on Mubi in the United Kingdom. “Erin Brockovich is perhaps the most forceful articulation of Soderbergh’s proclivity toward emphasizing character over other filmic concerns. Without sacrificing their causal role within the narrative, who characters are is often of greater interest than what they do—indeed, what they will do and accomplish is often a foregone conclusion… while Erin Brockovich may, thematically, be a film about responsibility, formally, Erin Brockovich is a movie about Erin Brockovich—and decidedly so.”— Andrew Patrick Nelson, in The Philosophy of Steven Soderbergh“I’m smart, I’m hardworking and I’m not leaving here without a job.”— Erin, Erin BrockovichErin Brockovich must win people over. As a single mother of three who wears short skirts and low-cut tops, she’s at the more preyed-upon end of a predatory spectrum—one whose social logic is built on first impressions.

Do you believe in ghosts? Paul Feig does. Minutes into the refreshingly funny reboot of the 1984 classic Ghostbusters, Feig and his gal gang of comediennes not-so-subtly acknowledge the specter in the room: the resistance to a female reboot of this revered film. Kristen Wiig’s character, Erin Gilbert, sees her tenure position jeopardized by the appearance of a book she co-authored, “Ghosts From Your Past, Literally and Figuratively.” Later, with the help of her fellow writer, Melissa McCarthy’s character Abby Yates, she posts a video on YouTube of her first ghost encounter. A commenter on the site complains: “Ain’t no b!tches gonna hunt no ghosts.”

Sony also just debuted a featurette on each Ghostbuster from Paul Feig's film, a closer look at the Ecto-1, and you can hear a sampling of the new theme song from Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott. As we reported previously, the original cast will meet with the new today on Jimmy Kimmel Live to celebrate Ghostbusters Day. And here's your proof. Happy #GhostbustersDay!! pic.twitter.com/UzJVjSt5Iw — Melissa McCarthy (@melissamccarthy) June 8, 2016 Left to right starting in the back it's Bill Murray, Leslie Jones, Dan Aykroyd (who recently gave his thoughts on the film), and Ernie Hudson. Then down in front we've got Annie Potts, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, and Kristen Wiig. Paul Feig posted another photo and also mentioned Sigourney Weaver's absence was...

Exactly 32 years ago to the day, Ghostbusters launched into theaters worldwide, igniting a fandom that would burn bright long after the credits rolled on each of Ivan Reitman’s spooky classics.
Now that the original ‘Busters have all but retired from the scene, Sony has taken up the supernatural mantle and is now, at the time of writing, little over one month away from unleashing Paul Feig’s fresh-faced Ghostbusters onto the moviegoing masses.
And so, in celebration of all things Ghostbusters Day, the studio has premiered a new featurette for Feig’s reboot, which sees Erin (Kristen Wiig), Jillian (Kate McKinnon), Abby (Melissa McCarthy) and Patty (Leslie Jones) hitch a ride in the Ecto-1. Landing hot on the heels of yesterday’s international trailer, there isn’t much in the way of new footage included in the sizzle reel, but it’s a concise reminder of the entertaining chemistry...

“It’s like he was born without the gene for it.”
‘Rebecca’ is a slow burn, an episode in which as much attention is paid to the lighting around Chuck as to the scramble faced by Kim and Jimmy in their respective legal purgatories or to Mike’s dawning realization that half measures leave loose ends. The eponymous Rebecca(a charming Ann Cusack) is Chuck’s wife, introduced in the opening flashback and quickly won over by Jimmy’s charms at a dinner which, for Chuck, is next to unendurable. The resentment seething beneath Chuck’s genial exterior appears bone-deep, souring his domestic joy when, after the meal’s end, he attempts to joke around like Jimmy does and sees his own efforts fall flat. Chuck is a man who can’t abide conflict when he feels he’s in the right, whose proposed solution to his wife’s nebulous...

Kate Winslet knows her characters like the back of her hand. The actor played the game “Name That You!” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last night, where the late night host challenged Winslet to name several characters she’s portrayed throughout the years. Winslet correctly named every role throughout the game, including Joanna Hoffman (“Steve Jobs”), Rose DeWitt Bukater (“Titanic”), Hanna Schmitz (“The Reader”), Marianne Dashwood (“Sense and Sensibility”), Jeanine (“Divergent”), Dr. Erin Mears (“Contagion”), Clementine Kruczynski (“Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”), and Rita from the animated film “Flushed Away.” Lastly Kimmel flashed an image of Chewbacca from “Star Wars” on screen. “That’s my mother!” Winslet joked. Winslet’s career spans more than three decades with over 30 films on her résumé. The Oscar winner is nominated for an Academy Award for the seventh time this year for her performance in “Steve Jobs.” Watch Winslet master her memory below. Inspired by this post?...

Maddie dyes her hair blonde this week on Nashville. It’s a shame she doesn’t bleach some of that stank attitude out, as well.
Grounding hasn’t worked. Taking away her phone hasn’t worked. And telling her that no, you may not accept Sony’s offer of a solo recording contract certainly hasn’t worked — quite the opposite. In fact, Rayna’s elder daughter is at her absolute worst in this episode, vibrating at an annoying teen frequency somewhere between Buffy-Season-5 Dawn and Game of Thrones-any-season Joffrey.
Meanwhile, in the land of people with real problems, Scarlett...

A drycleaning shop. A barre-workout studio. A fro-yo franchise.
If Nashville‘s Deacon wanted to become a small business owner, any/all of these would’ve been a far smarter investment than his current obsession: being an active proprietor in a bar.
As the saying goes, if you don’t wanna slip, don’t walk where it’s slippery. And for a recovering alcoholic, it’s hard to think of a more treacherous icy patch than a building full of booze you already own.
Yes, I’m aware that the entire endeavor is a tribute to his late sister. But...

All of those Juliette-on-the-ledge Nashville promos ABC threw at us weren’t kidding: This week’s episode was fatal… just not for the rock-bottom-hitting Ms. Barnes.
Nope, Jeff Fordham was the hour’s casualty, falling from the roof of a hotel in the process of saving a drunk and drugged Juliette from committing suicide.
Photos November Sweeps Preview: Scoop on Castle, Vampire Diaries, The Blacklist, Quantico, Gotham, NCIS and More
It’s been a while since the ABC drama surprised me; I think maybe the last time was when Rayna showed up on Deacon’s doorstop to declare her love...

Welcome back, dance fans! It's the "Dancing with the Stars" results show, and the dreaded double elimination that they've been promising for two weeks (since a scheduling conflict bumped it from last week to tonight). It's ridiculous and embarrassing how nervous I am about this elimination, but the way last week went down, I can't help it. America, you better not mess it up.
But first, there's a bunch of filler-and a whole lot of audience screaming-to get through. Len and the judges choose Rumer and Val's paso doble trio with Artem as the encore dance, and it's as impressive as it was last night, if not even stronger. Tom and Erin also reveal what we all know to be true: Rumer and Val are safe. It seems obvious not just because they're great dancers, but because they're first to get their results.
I'm so glad the producers finally...
