Prior to unveiling his suit, Colman hit the carpet in a blue cape alongside fellow co-chair Lewis Hamilton.
The Met Gala will focus on menswear and suiting this year with a “Tailored for You” dress code. The event will celebrate the opening of the museum’s new exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which draws inspiration from Monica L. Exclusive: Miles Madison is Mikey Madison’s twin brother, and the way he describes it they were “born at the same time.”
Family lore, says Miles, is that they had a cesarean birth “and we were plucked out” simultaneously to prevent arguments about who’s older.
And does that work? Miles winks and says that on his birth certificate he’s listed one minute ahead of his Oscar-winning sibling.
The Madison clan is undoubtedly proud of Mikey. And I loved seeing how intuitively protective they are of her. They wanted to give her space to just simply breathe and take in the enormity of what happened Sunday night to the 25-year-old, who will be 26 on March 25.
They all sat in a sort of luxurious sunken sofa pit created for the Vanity Fair Oscars 2025 party. Intermingled with Mikey’s family were members of the Anora entourage; the film’s multiple Oscar-winning...

Greg Jardin, director of genre-bending Sundance darling It’s What’s Inside, knows you’re going to expect his film to be a horror movie. The buzzy festival hit has got all the trappings of the familiar genre: from the creepy, dimly lit home where danger could lurk in every corner to a cast of attractive young people. It even debuts during spooky season — It’s What’s Inside is now streaming on Netflix. But the movie that audiences — and critics — couldn’t get enough of is hardly a slasher.
“We never considered it horror,” Jardin tells Oscar nominee Colman Domingo, who executive produced It’s What’s Inside alongside his creative partner and husband, Raúl Domingo. “I’d say it’s a sci-fi thriller with jokes.”
If anything, Jardin and Domingo agree that It’s What’s Inside might stir up what Domingo calls “the horror of...

It’s What’s Inside filmmaker Greg Jardin spent eight years trying to land $10 million for a still-unproduced sci-fi comedy. In 2016, he then pivoted to a genre-bending idea that is now his feature directorial debut, spending another eight years trying to get it in front of a festival audience. That opportunity finally came at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2024, and within three days of It’s What’s Inside’s world premiere, Jardin and his producing team landed a $17 million acquisition deal from Netflix.
Jardin — who’s had a healthy career making shorts, music videos and promos for Netflix projects such as Wednesday and When They See Us — had modest expectations for his comedic sci-fi thriller leading up to Sundance. In fact, his only concern was that his $2.5 million film didn’t create a loss for his financing and producing partners at Such. “A lot of things that we do are a Trojan horse, like you don’t see it coming,” Colman said of Edith’s projects.
“The principle, I think, also, is entertain you while gutting you,” Raúl added.
“It’s usually put into some package. It could be a beautiful cake, but then you realize that there’s a shiv inside,” Colman said. “Or some glitter. You never know.”

When Colman Domingo chooses projects, he isn’t looking to be pigeonholed by his sexuality and identity.
That’s why the Oscar-nominated actor recently told GQ that he sometimes questions the scripts that come across his desk at his production company Edith, which he co-runs with his husband Raúl Domingo.
“The two things that I constantly get sent are about slavery and being queer,” he explained. “And I always think, ‘So why are you sending me this, if this isn’t even any of my interests, really?’”
Domingo, an openly gay Black-Latin filmmaker and actor, added that he’s more drawn to writing and producing stories that “have a lot of light in them.”

When Colman Domingo steps to the stage to introduce the SXSW premiere of his new film “Sing Sing” — a deeply affecting depiction of the Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at the titular maximum security prison in New York — he gets a standing ovation before a second of the film has screened. That might be in part because, less than 48 hours later, Domingo will be stepping inside the Dolby Theater for the 96th Academy Awards, nominated for his performance as civil rights activist Bayard Rustin in “Rustin.”
This wasn’t even the world premiere for “Sing Sing” — that was at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, where A24 scooped it up for a theatrical release this July. But as Domingo explains to Variety following the film’s screening at SXSW — where the film received another, much longer standing ovation — there was never any question for him about whether he would attend.

Colman Domingo is on a remarkable run, and ahead of Oscar night and his nomination for “Rustin,” A24 has released the first trailer for his next moving drama, “Sing Sing.”
Greg Kwedar directed “Sing Sing,” which follows the true story of a leader of a theater troupe in prison and how they use acting to escape the realities of their incarceration, putting on a play all while Domingo’s character is seeking parole. The film is based on a real-life rehabilitation program, and the movie even features a cast that includes formerly incarcerated actors.
Domingo leads the cast that also includes Paul Raci, an Oscar nominee for “Sound of Metal.” And A24, which picked up the film out of last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, has announced it is eyeing a theatrical release this July for the movie. It will have its U.S. premiere at the SXSW Film festival on Friday.

Fear the Walking Dead cast member Colman Domingo has produced a horror film called It’s What’s Inside, which just earned a lot of positive reviews after having its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. (You can read an 8/10 review from JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray right Here.) It’s What’s Inside marks the feature directorial debut of Greg Jardin, who also wrote the screenplay. Details on the plot are being kept under wraps, with most reviewers doing their best to keep the movie’s secrets. Netflix is going all in on It’s What’s Inside. The streaming service has acquired the horror thriller out of Sundance, three days after the project debuted as part of the fest’s horror-centric Midnight Section.
The feature hails from writer director Greg Jardin, and centers on a pre-wedding party that becomes a nightmare when an estranged friend shows up with a mysterious suitcase.
“I’ve been pitching it as a sci-fi thriller, with jokes,” Jardin told The Hollywood Reporter earlier in the fest.
Rights went for a reported $17 million, which would make it the highest sale of the Park City, Utah-based festival so far this year. Over the weekend, Searchlight Pictures made a $10 million deal to acquire the Jesse Eisenberg-directed feature A Real Pain, which stars the actor-filmmaker alongside Kieran Culkin.

The Sundance Film Festival is one of the most highly respected film festivals in the world, and while the horror genre generally doesn’t seem to receive as much respect as it deserves, horror has had a steady presence at Sundance over the years. In fact, just last year the Sundance horror line-up included the likes of Infinity Pool, Talk to Me, My Animal, and Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls. The Sundance 2024 line-up was revealed earlier today (you can see the list Here) – and there again a good number of horror movies included in the program.

A24 has acquired theatrical distribution rights to “Sing Sing,” five days after the Colman Domingo-starring drama made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The indie banner confirmed the deal Friday evening.
Directed by Greg Kwedar, the film is inspired by the Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at the Sing Sing Correctional Facility in New York, following a group of inmates who collaborate on stage shows. Domingo, who was also represented at TIFF with the George C. Wolfe-directed biopic “Rustin” from Netflix, leads “Sing Sing,” joined by a cast that includes Paul Raci, who earned an Academy Award nomination for his supporting turn in “Sound of Metal,” as well as Clarence Maclin and Sean San José.

A24 has acquired the domestic theatrical rights to “Sing Sing,” starring Colman Domingo, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.
The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and A24 is planning a 2024 theatrical release. The deal is reported to be in the seven figures.
In his review of the film, TheWrap’s Steve Pond wrote: “Written and directed by Greg Kwedar (‘Jockey’), the indie drama is a curious concoction that finds veteran actor Domingo playing a would-be playwright in a theater program at Sing Sing Correctional Facility; his fellow actors, with the notable exception of ‘Sound of Metal’ Oscar nominee Paul Raci, are, for the most part, former prisoners who took place in that actual program and are billed in the credits as playing themselves. The result isn’t seamless or slick, but there’s an urgency and a grit to it, and a sense of lives lost and occasionally regained.

Of all the glamorous celebrity couples at the 2023 Golden Globes, we can't stop thinking about Colman Domingo and husband Raúl Domingo. Though the "Euphoria" actor and his partner rarely make joint public appearances, they walked the red carpet together at the Jan. 10 award show clad in subtly matching outfits - Colman wore a custom tuxedo embellished with onyx and graphite stones, while Raúl coordinated in a black suit. "All black, but he's the one who's sparkling," Raúl told E! News of the inspiration behind his outfit. Colman shone bright on stage during the ceremony while presenting Steven Spielberg with the best director award for his work on "The Fabelmans."
The Globes were the first major award show Colman and Raúl have attended as a couple during their relationship, which dates back nearly 18 years. In 2005, they crossed paths outside of a California Walgreens and eyed one another without exchanging any words.

“It’s something we made with so much love. We didn’t have an intention on how to amplify it,” says Emmy winner Colman Domingo, whose animated short film “New Moon” is among 15 shortlisted for Oscar consideration this year. “We just wanted to create it because we believe the messaging put out into the world about Black mothers, about Black boys. It’s a personal story, something that me and my mother experienced. It was Raul’s idea to turn it into animation.” Watch the video interview with filmmakers Colman and Raul Domingo above.

Over a dozen married couples have been nominated for Academy Awards in the same year. The list begins with Lynn Fontanne and Alfred Lunt, who were both nominated in best actor and actress in 1932 for “The Guardsman.” Most recently, that roster includes Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz, nominated for “Being the Ricardos” and “Parallel Mothers” in 2021. This year, if the animated short film “New Moon” is among the five films given a nod on Jan. 24, co-writers and producers Colman Domingo and Raul Domingo will become the first same-sex married couple ever nominated in any category.
