Alex Gibney is one of the most prolific documentary filmmakers working today. To look at his filmography is to wonder if there’s a bomb in his chest that will go off if he ever stops working. Like any director who works so frequently, you have to take his occasionally misses in stride – not every movie […]

Julianne Hough is on her way to the altar with hockey hunk Brooks Laich!
While the Washington Capitals center might not be a household name to many celebrity watchers, hockey fans know he's far more than just arm candy for the former Dancing with the Stars pro (although he fills that role quite well.)
And while we're still foggy on his dancing skills, it's clear the 30-year-old has much more to offer than just a chiseled physique.
What to know about the NHL star?
1. He's a Canadian native.
Like so many hockey pros, Laich's hockey chops were honed in his native Canada.

NEW YORK -- Fox's reality lineup beat CBS combination of reality and repeat drama to take Thursday night's broadcast primetime.
Fox handily won the 8 p.m. hour with "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" (9.1 million, 2.9 rating/10 share in adults 18-49), according to preliminary estimates released Friday by Nielsen Media Research. "5th Grader" was down week-to-week in viewership and the demo while CBS' "Pirate Master" (5.8 million, 1.9/7) got a Little Bit More wind in its sails compared with last week (5.4 million, 1.5/5).
Fox split 9 p.m. with "So You Think You Can Dance" (9 million, 3.4/10) winning the demo while a repeat "CSI" (9.2 million, 2.5/8) won in viewers. "Dance" was also down from last week's episode (10.6 million, 4.0/12).
The 10 p.m. hour was won by a repeat "Shark" (8.1 million, 2.1/6), which beat out a repeat "Grey's Anatomy" (4.1 million, 1.4/4) and an original of the canceled "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" (4.4 million, 1.8/5).
Thursday averages: Fox (9 million, 3.1/10); CBS (7.7 million, 2.1/7); NBC (4.3 million, 1.9/6); ABC (3.9 million, 1.2/4); and the CW (2 million, 0.8/3).

TELLURIDE, Colo. -- Actress Toni Collette proved to be a particularly fitting honoree at this year's 30th annual Telluride Film Festival, which concluded Monday in the Colorado mountain town. On Saturday night, the Australian actress, who drew raves from Telluride audiences in 1994 with the debut of "Muriel's Wedding" and was back this year with "Japanese Story", was feted for her work onscreen. Shortly before she stepped onstage, she commented, "At the moment, I really feel like I'm more relaxed and more centered in myself. With the whole growing up thing -- I turned 31 this year -- you want to relax a Little Bit More. I'm not as stressed out about work or as competitive." Like Collette, the Telluride festival seemed to be at a similarly reflective turning point. During its first three decades, Telluride, a compact, four-day festival over the Labor Day weekend, has established a reputation as an upscale festival for hard-core film fans. The majority of the attendees are over 40 years of age and are either local residents or cinephiles from across the country who come to see projects from established filmmakers that are shown side by side with rediscovered films from years past. This year, however, marked a "passing of the torch," organizers said. An unprecedented number of films were the work of first-time helmers. Of the 20 premiering works, 10 came from debut directors, a sign that the older-skewing festival may be welcoming a new generation of filmmakers and film fans. But the question remained, with 30 years under its belt, where will the continually sold-out Telluride fest go next?...
