NBCUniversal’s Joe Exotic series will carry an Australian flavour that goes beyond its Queensland shoot.
Aussie actors Will McNeill (Rams), Jack Scott (Hardball), Nic English (The Tailings), Benedict Hardie (The Invisible Man), Shereena Clanton (Wentworth), Alexandra Jensen (My Life is Murder), Anthony J. Sharpe (Miss Fisher & the Crypt of Tears) and Aliandra Calabrese (Perfect Messy Love) have been added to the supporting cast for the production, which is currently filming.
The series will feature English as the titular character’s first husband Brian Rhyne; Scott as Exotic’s political campaign manager Joshua Dial; Calabrese as Lauren Lowe; Jenson as Exotic’s niece Chealsi; Hardie as Agent Thomas; Sharpe as zookeeper Erik Cowie; McNeill as Big Cat Rescue volunteer Tyler; and Clanton as Susan.

Joe Exotic’s former campaign manager Joshua Dial has given his thoughts in an interview on his former employer’s conspiracy to commit murder case. He doesn’t think President Trump should give The Tiger King a pardon, but he does believe that the Commander in Chief should grant clemency. Joshua Dial and Joe Exotic (real name Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage) got to know...

For all you cool cats and kittens who need more “Tiger King,” Netflix delivered a bonus episode of interviews on Sunday morning.
Hosted by Joel McHale, “The Tiger King and I” aftershow brought back favorites like John Finlay, Erik Cowie and Kelci “Saff” Saffery. The “Tiger King” crew talked about how they’re getting used to their new celebrity statuses and revealed a few secrets that didn’t make it into the show.
Here are the highlights from the interviews.
Joe Exotic is terrified of big cats
The show saved the best interview for last as TV producer Rick Kirkham dropped a few bombshells, including that his wannabe TV star was scared of his own animals. Joe Exotic (whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage) would regularly pose with two tigers who were blind and tranquilized, posing no threat to him.

In its last 10 minutes, after almost seven hours of salacious rumor-mongering and shameless gawking at misfortune, “Tiger King” makes a fleeting attempt at imparting a noble message. “Nobody wins,” says former animal keeper Saff, who lost an arm while tending to a tiger before returning to work less than a week later. “Everyone involved is a so-called animal advocate, [but] not a single animal benefited from this war.” The music starts to swell as footage of happier times and galloping tigers goes into slow motion. “We’ve lost sight of what really matters here,” insists Joshua Dial, former campaign manager for Joe Exotic’s presidential run. “And that’s the conservation and protection of the species of this planet.”
That sentiment is all fine and good — but it has no basis in the reality of “Tiger King,” a messy and opportunistic docuseries that’s highlighted the worst of what true crime can be and do.

Can't stop talking about Tiger King? Hoping for more? You're in luck! In a near-inappropriate announcement video, Joel McHale revealed that he's hosting a brand new episode of Tiger King. It's a sort of after show, featuring brand new interviews with subjects of the docuseries, including John Reinke, Joshua Dial, John Finlay, Saff, Erik Cowie, Rick Kirkman, and Jeff and Lauren Lowe, with updates on where they are all now after the release of the series. Apparently we won't be hearing from Carole Baskin or Joe Exotic's current husband Dillon Passage. "It's going to be eye-opening, and hopefully funny," McHale says in the video, while shirtless, draped in animal print...

Netflix announced Thursday that a “Tiger King” after-show hosted by Joel McHale will premiere on Sunday.
The show’s Jeff Lowe, who took over the Oklahoma exotic animal zoo from Joe Exotic, had recently hinted that a new episode would be coming this week. The teaser for the eighth installment features McHale wearing a cowboy hat and promising that he talked to several of the show’s subjects about what’s been happening in their lives.
Among the show’s subjects appearing in the new episode are Joe Exotic’s ex-husband John Finlay, Saff, reality show producer Rick Kirkman and Lowe and his wife Lauren — but notably not Carole Baskin or Joe Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic, who is currently in a prison medical facility in Texas.
However Joe Exotic did give Netflix an update from prison recently, explaining, “I’m done with the Carole Baskin saga.”
