Exclusive: John Morayniss’ Blink49 Studios has struck an overall deal with The Walking Dead: World Beyond co-exec producer Ben Sokolowski.
The deal is the second of its type from the nascent Canadian studio over the past months after it tied with Lucifer exec Sheri Elwood in March.
Sokolowski, whose credits also include The Flash and Cloverfield, will develop shows with Blink49 as a non-writing executive producer. He is the co-exec of AMC Walking Dead spin-off The Walking Dead: World Beyond and has written four episodes.
Sokolowski’s first development project under the deal is Breakers from Netflix’s 21 Thunder co-creator Riley Adams.
Breakers follows three young surfers from Vancouver Island who dream of big-wave glory but one goes missing. When the police refuse to act, the other two must take it upon themselves, plunging into the island’s criminal waters.

Actress Lauren Lee Smith is ready to shake things up after four seasons of starring as the title character in Frankie Drake Mysteries.
So when she got offered the lead in Lifetime’s made-for-tv movie Doomsday Mom: The Lori Vallow Story, premiering Saturday at 8/7c, Smith recognized it as the challenging turn she’d been seeking. “I wanted something that would excite me and spark something in me that I hadn’t experienced before,” the Vancouver, B.C. native tells TVLine of the role that director Bradley Walsh pitched her.

If the real Las Vegas is as crime ridden as it is portrayed in CSI, I really have no want to pay a visit. Despite possessing more ludicrous plot twists than any of its predecessors, CSI: Las Vegas is still an enthralling ride that keeps you gripped from start to finish, despite being somewhat farfetched at times. With gruesome murders that are so consistent you would think Vegas was suffering from a population decrease, intricate plot turns which weave seamlessly and impressively throughout episodes, and a consistently great cast of characters, this series further cements the idea that Vegas is the strongest of the three locational CSI programmes.
The series opens with a celebrity dead in mysterious circumstances. After the departure of Riley Adams from the squad, Sara (Jorja Fox) - who is now married to Grissom (William Petersen) - returns to make up the numbers. Lawrence Fishbourne returns once more as Raymond Langston,...

CSI: Las Vegas is still the most watched TV programme in the world and it’s no wonder when you look at the awesome storylines they keep churning out. It’s amazing to think that it’s been going for such a long time but personally I still find it fresh and compelling viewing.
Season 10 is no different. It’s the first season where Gil Grissom (William Petersen) doesn’t appear but to my surprise however, his now wife, Sara Suidle (Jorja Fox) is back for some more crime fighting action while Grissom apparently attends various bug conferences around the world. She comes into replace Riley Adams (Lauren Lee Smith) who left at the end of the last season. Laurence Fishburne is back as Dr. Raymond Langston alongside those we’ve come accustomed to, Marg Helgenberger, Paul Guilfoyle, George Eads, Eric Szmanda and Robert David Hall as Dr. Al Robbins.

CSI has finally succeeded in capturing Katee Sackhoff.
The Battlestar Galactica firebrand and recent 24 alum—who was CSI producers’ first choice to replace Jorja Fox three years ago before a higher power inexplicably nixed her hiring—is joining the cast in a potentially recurring role, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Sackhoff will play Detective Reed, a smart, tough, and feisty investigator with an acknowledged lack of sensitivity. Her first episode is slated to air during November sweeps.
Ironically, Sackhoff’s role sounds an awful lot like the one she didn’t get—spitfire Riley Adams. (Lauren Lee Smith got that part.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is arguably one of the best American TV shows airing at the moment, and certainly one of the most original. Now in its tenth season and tenth year and creating two spin-off series, it is a show you are likely to have heard of even if you are not a fan, courtesy of high profile episodes such as ‘Grave Danger’ directed by Quentin Tarantino.
For those not familiar with the show, it features a team of elite crime scene investigators working the night shift at a crime lab in Las Vegas. The main characters at this point are Gil Grissom, Catherine Willows, Sara Sidle, Nick Stokes, Warrick Brown and Greg Sanders. The viewer follows them as they examine various crime scenes, analyze evidence and use science, logic and advanced lab technology to solve the cases. According to the writers all of the crimes that are featured...
