Patricia Paradise
- Writer
Patricia Paradise was born near Los Angeles on October 28th, 1961. She
was immediately given away for adoption by foster parents. As her
childhood sweetheart gets brutally killed, Patricia left her unhappy
home at age 16 for good. She discovers her love of singing and then has
only one aim in mind: to achieve fame as a singer. She battles on for
two years in dubious bars in Chicago and then lands, quite by accident,
in far-away Las Vegas.
In 1983, however, Patricia was discovered by Katherine Hiller, who is seriously managing her to astounding success, making her breakthrough as a singer and composer. Concert tours throughout the USA and Asia bring her phenomenal success and an almost religious crowd of followers. She marries the Las Vegas-businessman, Francis Hiller, on May 5th, 1987. Patricia then becomes the victim of at attempted assassination in the Philippines; but, as if by a miracle, she recovers. At the height of her success, to everyone's surprise, Patricia announces in March 1992 that she is retiring from show business. She has enough of being constantly in the limelight and now longs for nothing more than to have children. Her professional activity shifts towards writing and composing, mostly in the background, anonymously. Unintentionally, Patricia keeps making headlines, as she is in contact with many leading personalities, including ex-President Bill Clinton, Madonna, Steven Spielberg, Britney Spears, Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Jackson, Mutter Theresa, Princess Diana, Nelson Mandela, Cher, Kurt Cobain, the Dalai Lama, and Pope John Paul II.
In Hollywood the director, Roger Steinmann, has started making a film about her life, but the work has been interrupted by the tragic death of Ray Walston, the famous star as the "Uncle from Mars", on January 1st, 2001. While work is restarting on the film with a new cast, Patricia is doing research on materialism in the Western world. This already eagerly awaited but controversial book is scheduled for presentation by Patricia in the fall of 2001 at the Frankfurter Buchmesse.
