During the challenging year of 2020, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, Hansal Mehta’s Scam 1992 emerged as a major success. Owing to its unskippable intro music and Prateek Gandhi’s outstanding performance, the show gained immense popularity. Now, after three years, Hansal Mehta is set to release another installment in the series, focusing on India’s infamous scam from 2003, The Telgi Story. While various films, series, and documentaries like Paper starring Rohit Roy or 2009’s Mudrank: The Stamp have already explored this scam, a unique take is expected from this new series to offer a fresh perspective. Unlike the previous series, Scam 1992, Mehta’s involvement is limited to him being the showrunner, as the direction is handled by Tushar Hiranandini.
The series revolves around Abdul Karim Telgi, a lower-middle-class hawker with big dreams. Despite having a degree, he struggled financially and wanted more than just survival. He desired wealth and influence.

Television star Ruhi Chaturvedi faced an early exit, as the first contestant to be eliminated from the thrilling adventure of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 13’.
Ruhi’s tryst with the show started on an exhilarating note as she got her wish of performing a chopper-related stunt.
This stunt marked host Rohit Shetty’s entry on the show and had contestants clinging to a cargo bag tied to the chopper by a rope.
Unfortunately, Ruhi lost her grip on the bag and plunged into the water body below the chopper. Her mettle was tested in another stunt that required her and Anjum Fakih to strike a balance on a two-storied see-saw glass tunnel while Ruhi handed the flags to Anjum, who had to paste the flags on the other end of the tunnel.
The khatra element was that both the stunt partners had to crawl across the slippery glass and maintain a balance...

Actor Rohit Roy returns to the big screen in the action drama "Mumbai Saga", which hits theatres on Friday. He loves doing high-octane action roles but asserts that he won't stick to just that genre.

Mumbai, March 11 (Ians) Singer-composer Payal Dev reveals she used live instruments to record her new composition "Danka baja" in the upcoming film "Mumbai Saga".
"Given the grand scale of ‘Mumbai Saga', it was quite interesting to compose a festive song, something I have not done before for a movie. Initially I composed the hookline and we worked on the production. Once the track was ready, we reached out to (lyricist) Prashant Ingole and (singer) Dev Negi to record the song," said Payal.
The idea of using live instrument to record the song, as it was done in days of yore, helped because of the festive spirit of the song.
"Music producer Aditya Dev made sure that we used live instruments that are usually used to create the Ganpati vibe and authenticity to the song to make it sound grand," Payal said.
She is looking forward to the release of "Mumbai Saga" in theatres.

Mumbai, March 2: Bollywood has seen a surge in slice-of-life entertainers in recent years. However, this year, many top filmmakers seem bullish about reloading the vintage larger-than-life formula that was a rage in the eighties and the nineties.
Although vintage masala never went away, Bollywood lately had been veering towards realism when it came to characters, plot and other entertainment factors. The rise of Ott, where realistic content seems to find a better audience than the big screen and the need for filmmakers to woo the audience back to the theatres seem to be reasons why many in Bollywood is going no-holds-barred with cinematic idiom this year.
Some of the big films that revisit vintage masala with new-age swag were scheduled to hit the screens last year but got postponed owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. These mega entertainers are all riding high on star factor, heavy-duty dialogues, high-octane action sequences and,...

Mumbai, Feb 26: Veteran actor Gulshan Grover says he has respect for Ott platforms but theatres define the festive experience of watching films, and it is something that has been missing over the past year.
"For almost a year now, we have been watching films and series on Ott in our homes. We have been watching content from across the world. The Ott has its own advantages but we also want to get out there and want to have a real experience of watching a film," said Grover at the trailer launch of the upcoming film Mumbai Saga on Friday in Mumbai.
About filmmakers who have gone ahead and released films amid Covid protocol, he added, "It's a gutsy and courageous move from producers and entertainers that we care for the audience. Accepting the idea of 50 per cent capacity in theatres is a big step for financiers, producers and actors...

Mumbai, Feb 25: Bollywood experienced a lull last year with hardly any film getting a theatrical release owing to the complete closure of cinemas. With business opening up, many films are ready to release and raring to go. The inevitable, of course, is happening with a slew of films announcing release dates. In an overcrowded market, multiple Fridays this year will see box office clash between two films.
"These sort of clashes should not happen, especially at this time. As it is, business is slow. People are not coming to the theatres in big numbers and the situation is not all that profitable. At this point of time, we cannot afford clashes," says trade analyst Atul Mohan.
He adds that if producers only keep eyeing festive or strategic dates for release, such clashes are bound to happen and, what's more, their films might not end up doing as well as...
