Santosh Kumar Singh, accused in the rape and murder case of Priyadarshini Mattoo, has been awarded a lifetime behind bars today, after the Supreme Court in India decided to commute his death sentence to one of life imprisonment. Santosh Kumar Singh had previously been awarded the death sentence for committing the rape and murder of Priyadarshini Mattoo, then a junior at the law college where Singh was a also a student.
