Shawn Hawthorne was born in Houston, Texas, to mother Bonita Culbertson, a business owner, and step-father George Culbertson, a business executive. Shawn has two sisters Courtney, a veterinarian, and Caroline, an editor. The family lived in Houston, Texas before moving to Denver, Colorado, and eventually Raleigh, North Carolina where Shawn spent most of his life. Hawthorne attended Millbrook High School in Raleigh, North Carolina where he performed in many theater productions during his time there. He attended Mount Olive College as a Business major and attended Graduate school at Colorado State University where he earned his MBA. In 2019, Shawn was approached by a local film producer about acting in the short film, Yankee Escapee (2019) where he played a prison guard seeking to capture two escaped prisoners. Since filming Yankee Escapee, Shawn has continued to work on films including projects such as An Angel Whispers (2019), Skateshop (2020) Brandon (2021), Lessons from Ebenezer Creek (2021) and the television series Fatal Attraction (2023). Shawn has also written the film Re-Ride which is currently in development. In his personal life, Shawn is married to Jennifer Hawthorne, whom he met while living in Cary, NC, where she was attending school at North Carolina State University to become a veterinarian. The couple has two children, son Hayden and daughter Emma.
