Image
Tonight Netflix is throwing out announcements left and right, thanks to its Tudum celebration. We saw new footage from Wednesday season 2, a teaser for Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, a new casting announcement for One Piece season 2, a trailer for Squid Game season 3, and of course the big kahuna, an insane release date announcement for Stranger Things 5. It was a lot.

So much so that Amazon Prime Video might have been feeling a little Fomo, because at the exact same time the streamer decided to announce the release date for the second season of Gen V, the college spinoff of its subversive superhero show The Boys. Season 2 will premiere on September 17, 2025. There's also a trailer, which you can watch right here:

‘Gen V’ Season 2 Gets September Premiere Date
Image
“Gen V” Season finally has a premiere date, and just in time for the new school year, too.

Prime Video’s college-based spinoff of “The Boys” returns Sept. 17 with the premiere of the first three episodes, available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. New episodes will follow weekly with the second season finale airing Wednesday, October 22.

Season 2 picks up where Season 4 of “The Boys” left off — with Homelander (Antony Starr) firmly established as America’s brutal new fascist dictator and pretty much everyone who opposes him, with the sole exception of Starlight (Erin Moriarty), shoved into gulags at best.

Watch a trailer for Season 2 below:

Why Homelander Actor Antony Starr Was Disappointed With The Boys Fans
Image
Antony Starr was already known from his roles as Lucas Hood on the Cinemax crime show "Banshee" and Garrett Hawthorne on the CBS mystery drama "American Gothic" before he landed the part of twisted Superman expy Homelander on Amazon Prime Video's "The Boys." Still, for those who had missed his talents before, Starr's memorably twitchy turn as the sociopathic supe has certainly been enough to put him on the map.

Starr's Homelander has effectively transformed into a Donald Trump expy as the show has progressed, and "The Boys" makes absolutely no effort to hide this comparison as the dangerous character observes the world from New York City's Vought Tower while nurturing a cult of personality and harboring increasingly clear political aspirations. On the show, Homelander's power and undeniable charisma have managed to gaslight the public into thinking that he's the ultimate hero, and as Starr has found out to his chagrin,...

‘The Boys’ VFX supervisor Stephan Fleet explains why a one-minute shot ‘took about 17 hours’ to make
Image
“We don't want the simple way,” proclaims The Boys visual effects supervisor Stephan Fleet, who joined Gold Derby's "Meet the Experts" VFX panel. “We don't want the obvious magic trick that everyone's seen before. So even something you read on the page that you think could be the most simple thing, like a split screen of someone, can be a very complicated thing to do.” Watch the full interview above.

The Prime Video series was adapted from the comic book series of the same name by Eric Kripke. It focuses on a group of vigilantes trying to take down corrupt superheroes. “The original pitch to me, before I signed on, was that this isn't a superhero show. This is a show about the intersection of celebrity and politics, told if celebrities were superheroes," Fleet says. "I love superhero shows. I watch them. I've worked on ones myself. But in this case,...

Antony Starr Reveals The Shocking Reaction He 'Didn't Expect' From Fans of The Boys
Image
Antony Starr would like to remind people that The Boys'Homelander is an unapologetic villain and not a role model in any way.

During an Entertainment Weekly Awardist roundtable session with actors like Bradley Whitford and Sharon Horgan, Starr addressed reacting to fans who, despite witnessing Homelander's amoral deeds across The Boys' streaming run, seem to genuinely like what Homelander does. "We had a bunch of guys that we all kind of knocked them down a little but on social media to say, 'This guy is not the hero of any story,'" he said, adding, "They were really glorifying him, they loved him. Which is surreal." Despite trying to give Homelander shades of nuance underneath his megalomanical goals, The Boys star expressed surprise "that people would be so conflicted around it and, you know, finding themselves finding empathy for this monster."

Since The Boys premiered in 2019, Homelander has remained...

‘The Boys’ Star Teases an “Extremely Satisfying” Series Finale
Image
Production on The Boys Season 5 is in full swing, but fans have been theorizing about how the final season of the series would come to a close long before the camera rolled. One star from the series who has been around since the beginning is Colby Minifie, who portrays Ashley, the Vought employee who's often pushed around by Supes and Vought executives. Homelander (Antony Starr) has been bullying Ashley since the first season, and some fans have speculated that she should be the one to kill Homelander in Season 5, especially after she took Compound V at the end of Season 4. Minifie recently caught up with ScreenRant to talk about her new project, The Surrender, and she teased a "satisfying" finale that had her "emotional" while she was reading it:

"I just read the finale last night. It's an extremely satisfying finale. That's what I will say. It's extremely satisfying. I was getting emotional reading it.

The Boys cast tease season 5: "There will probably be lots of deaths”
Image
The Boys cast, along with showrunner Eric Kripke, recently talked to Deadline and teased the fifth and final season of Prime Video's subversive superhero show. Naturally, we're in for yet another vulgar, bloody and unpredictable installment, all dialed up to 11 for this last sprint.

By the end of The Boys season 4, Homelander and Sister Sage managed to place loyalist Senator Calhoun as President, essentially placing Homelander himself at the driving seat of the U.S. government. Meanwhile, a suped-up Billy Butcher continues his fight to stop the tyrannical Homelander. At the end of the season, most of the Boys are captured, and Annie is on the run. Oh, and Soldier Boy is revealed to be alive. It's all set up to be one hell of a final season.

“I look at the last two seasons … like an accordion,” Antony Starr (Homelander) said. “One piece of the accordion is going out and...

"It's Extremely Satisfying": The Boys Star Teases Their Reaction After Reading The Series Finale
Image
The Boys star Colby Minifie reveals her reaction to reading the script for the series finale. Minifie plays Ashley Barrett, a Vought executive who, despite becoming CEO, is a puppet for Homelander (Antony Starr). During The Boys season 4 ending, Ashley is last seen injecting herself with Compound V in a desperate attempt to protect herself from Homelander's wrath. While the Prime Video franchise continues to expand with spinoffs, including Gen V and Vought Rising, season 5 will mark the end of the original show.

During an interview with ScreenRant's Brandon Zachary for her new film The Surrender, Minifie shares that the script for The Boys series finale is "extremely satisfying" and that she "was getting emotional reading it." She discusses how, despite the show's extreme circumstances, it is grounded in the reality of the frustration and fear one can feel when working for a "crazy boss" like Homelander. Minifie also...

Image
The first key art for the fifth and final season of The Boys has been spotted at the Prime Experience event, and it features Homelander glancing back at the camera as he walks towards the White House.

In the season 4 finale, the leader of The Seven took one step closer to the Oval Office while enacting his plan to round up all anti-Supe protestors and confine them to prison camps. Hughie, Frenchie, Kimiko, and Mm were captured, with Starlight and the now even more volatile and unpredictable Butcher still at large.

“There will probably be lots of deaths," creator Eric Kripke says of the final season during an interview with Deadline. “There’s no guarantee of who’s gonna survive.” Nathan Mitchell (Black Noir) adds: “There are some things that are coming in Season 5 that you’re not going to have in your bingo card.”

The Boys: Homelander & Butcher are "two sides of the same coin"
Image
The villain telling the hero 'we’re not so different, you and I' is one of the most overused tropes in movies, especially when it comes to the superhero genre. Look no further than the Joker, Norman Osborne, Magneto, and Thanos — they've all said it.

The cliche stretches to Prime Video's subversive superhero series The Boys. Throughout the show's first four seasons, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and Homelander (Antony Starr) have been at each other's throats, and season 5 will undoubtedly bring their war to a violent, gruesome conclusion.

The two characters are intrinsically different in terms of their outlooks. Homelander is an oppressive 'evil Superman' with ties to the government and plans for world domination. On the other hand, hardened British vigilante Billy Butcher has been out to stop him — and all 'Supes' — from the start, along with his ragtag group, the Boys.

On the surface, Butcher and Homelander are very different people,...

Antony Starr as Resident Evil’s Wesker? The Boys Star Says “I Agree”
Image
The Boys’ Antony Starr, best known as Homelander, aka the most terrifying version of Superman you’ll ever meet, has casually thrown his name into the Resident Evil reboot hat. And not through some overproduced Hollywood press release. Nope. One Instagram comment, three words: “I agree”—and now, the internet’s losing its mind. Bosslogic, the internet’s go-to fantasy casting wizard and Photoshop alchemist, has been pushing the Antony Starr-for-Wesker agenda for a while now. He’s posted fan art that makes you do a double take—Starr in black trench coat, glowing eyes, slicked-back menace. It’s less “what if?” and more “why hasn’t this happened already?” After watching Amazon Prime Video’s G20, Bosslogic fired up Instagram and tagged whoever’s steering the new Resident Evil live-action reboot, saying they need to sign Antony Starr as Albert Wesker. “Do it”, he wrote in a public nudge.

The Boys season 5 will see 'emotional' storyline between Homelander and Soldier Boy
Image
The Boys season 3 delivered a powerful moment, and that was the big reveal that Soldier Boy is Homelander’s dad. However, nothing could come of that in the fourth season, but there is hope for The Boys season 5.

At the end of The Boys season 4, Homelander was reunited with his (frozen) dad. Soldier Boy was put on ice due to how dangerous he was. Not only did he want to destroy all those who betrayed him back in the day, but he was able to wipe out all Supes by removing the Compound-v from their system. This could have been great for those who wanted to lose their powers, but not so great for those who needed them.

Homelander had no idea where Soldier Boy was taken, but that was revealed to him at the end of the fourth season. Now he has a chance to face his father, while...

The Boys boss Eric Kripke discusses Homelander's "tragic" existence
Image
Over the years, The Boys supervillain Homelander (Antony Starr) has become one of the most universally despised characters in the genre. Of all the characters that fall into the "Evil Superman" archetype, from Brightburn to Omni-Man, it's Homelander who's the most talked-about.

Looking ahead to the fifth and final season of Prime Video's The Boys, Homelander is more unhinged than ever. With people like Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and a newly-Suped Ashley (Colby Minifie) out to kill him once and for all, fans can expect a bloodbath from start to finish. As the show has proved time and time again, no level of vulgarity or gruesomeness is off the table.

While it's hard to have sympathy for someone as pathologically evil as Homelander, showrunner Eric Kripke recently weighed in on the fundamental tragedy of his story. "It’s sort of tragic, actually, but ultimately, the guy just wants someone to love him,...

“Is He a Man Or a Monster?“: Eric Kripke Digs Into Butcher’s Complex Morality in 'The Boys' Season 5
Image
When we first met Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher in the first episode of Prime Video’s The Boys, he was a man on a mission. And what was his mission, exactly? A vengeance-filled quest that also put him on a collision course with numerous difficult-to-accept truths. Caught in his laser focus (pun intended) was the leader of the superhero group known as The Seven, Antony Starr’s Homelander. The bloodthirsty and morally deplorable supe is objectively the title’s primary villain, but, as we’ve watched Butcher toe the fine line of morality over the last four seasons, will he fully step over to the dark side for the upcoming fifth and final season?

The answer to that question is one that series creator, Eric Kripke, recently teased while chatting with TV Insider. Putting it in the hands of the audience to speculate until the fifth and final season arrives somewhere down the line,...

“It’s Also Exactly What Butcher’s Going Through”: Eric Kripke Reveals ‘The Boys’ Season 5 Will Play Into Homelander and Butcher’s Similarities
Image
The Boys has never been afraid of staying in line with the times. In fact, it’s kind of the Prime Video series’ whole thing. Whether intentional or not, the show has mirrored many of the things actually happening in our world, and its upcoming fifth and final season will be no different. But, the last batch of episodes won’t only paint a clearer picture of how the fictional universe’s politics parallel our own, but, according to series creator, Eric Kripke, the primary antagonist and protagonist will also begin to blur together as one.

While chatting with TV Insider, Kripke was quick to point out the close comparisons between the leader of the titular anti-supe vigilante team, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), and his archnemesis, Homelander (Antony Starr). Setting up what’s to come in the fifth season, Kripke teased,

“[Homelander’s] story in the season was one of mortality and legacy.

“He’s Still That Little Kid”: Eric Kripke Picks Apart Homelander’s Season 4 Homecoming
Image
Audiences of The Boys have seen some downright disturbing things over the show’s four-season run. And, it would be incredibly fair to say that a solid chunk of them have been perpetrated by the title’s primary antagonist, Antony Starr’s Homelander. During the show’s fourth season, which arrived last summer, viewers were given an all-access pass into the traumatic upbringing that turned Homelander into the maniacal psychopath that now runs not only the Seven but the entire country as well. Recently chatting with TV Insider, series creator, Eric Kripke, shed some light on Homelander’s big “heartbreaking” homecoming moment and how it not only better formed his villain origin story, but also managed to make those watching at home feel some empathy towards such a disgusting and dislikable character.

Giving credit where credit is due, Kripke notes that without Starr’s precise, insightful, and perfect portrayal of the character,...

'It's Sort of Tragic': The Boys Showrunner Reveals What Homelander Really Wants More Than Anything Else
Image
The Boys' fifth and final season culminates the long-running Homelander saga, with fans awaiting the payoff to his many controversies and an expected clash with Billy Butcher. As deplorable and self-serving as Homelander can be, showrunner Eric Kripke believes that despite the Seven leader's dastardly ways, there is something less sinister at the heart of the character that fuels him.

Speaking with TV Insider, Kripke teased what fans can expect from Homelander in Season 5 and offered insight into what makes Antony Starr's character tick. Though Homelander is hard to sympathize with, considering his penchant for chaos, Kripke insists his desire to be loved is at the root of his complexities.

"The thing about Homelander — and I was just talking to Antony about this yesterday — is it’s sort of tragic, actually, but ultimately, the guy just wants someone to love him. He tries amassing all of this power just...

The composers on The Boys are apparently going to have to wait a long time, if at all, for a note or two from creator Eric Kripke on how to do better.

After performing spirited pieces from the Prime Video superhero drama at Deadline’s Sound & Screen: Television event, composers Christopher Lennertz and Matt Bowen were asked if they’ve ever been scolded for going too far with their music.

“I’ve never gotten a note saying I’ve gone too far. If anything, it’s I can go farther,” Lennertz said. “Eric usually says make me give you a note, and I never seem to get that if I tried.”

Lennertz reminisced about when The Boys first went into production and how he formed the “band” that would create the soundtrack for the superhero show. With Bowen as his first member, the duo...

‘The Boys’ Boss Eric Kripke on Homelander’s ‘Tragic’ Quest for Love & What It Means for Season 5
Image
The Boys may be gearing up for its final chapter at Prime Video, but showrunner Eric Kripke is taking a look back at Season 4’s standout moments. While the series about a titular group of vigilantes who aim to keep misbehaved superheroes in line was originally presented as a battle between well-intentioned rule-benders and an ignorant group of self-serving “Supes,” it has been revealed as an eerily timely reflection of our current politically charged climate. At the core is the never-ending push-pull dynamic between Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and the all-powerful American Flag-clad Supe Homelander (Antony Starr), which continued into Season 4 and will carry on in Season 5. As viewers will recall, Season 4 opened with Homelander on trial for publicly lasering a protester to death and concluded with an essential coup of the government, placing Homelander’s allies in the White House, where they implemented the deputization of Supes. In other words,...

If you loved Seth Rogen‘s satirical comedy series about Hollywood on Apple TV+, then rejoice as the Apple-owned streaming service has just renewed The Studio for Season 2, and that too before it even completes its first season on air.

Created by Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez, The Studio is set in Hollywood and revolves around a hapless film producer named Matt Remick, who becomes the newly appointed head of a major studio. Now Matt must make hard decisions and hurt some people’s feelings to secure the bottom line, but that doesn’t exactly fit with his flimsy personality.

The Studio stars Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Kathryn Hahn but it does have boat loads of cameos from major celebrities including Martin Scorsese, Anthony Mackie, Zoe Kravitz,...

Zack Snyder Makes a Surprise Cameo on ‘The Studio’ and Jokes About the Snyder Cut
Image
The Apple TV+ series The Studio is known for featuring big-name filmmakers playing themselves. So far, the show has seen cameos from directors like Martin Scorsese (Flowers of the Killer Moon), Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind), Olivia Wilde (Don’t Worry Darling), Parker Finn (Smile), and Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors).

They all interact with Matt Remick (played by Seth Rogen), the new head of the fictional Continental Studios.

However, one of the latest episodes surprised fans with a cameo from none other than Zack Snyder. Unlike the other filmmakers, Snyder appears outside the studio setting. In episode 8, titled “The Golden Globes,” he shows up during a star-filled segment. The episode also features Adam Scott (Severance), Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Jean Smart (Hacks), Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing), Ramy Youssef (#1 Happy Family USA), and Netflix co-ceo Ted Sarandos.

The plot follows Matt’s attempt to get Zoë Kravitz, the actress and director of Blink Twice,...

'The Boys' Parodies Donald Trump AI Pope Photo With Homelander
Image
America's current president has no doubt inspired one of the country's most popular, and brutal, modern satirizations, the hit superhero show The Boys. However, showrunner Eric Kripke couldn't have known just how similar the show's blonde-haired, American flag-wearing main villain could be to President Donald Trump. While Homelander actor Antony Starr has stated that the evil superhero represents more than just one bad political figure, the character keeps getting closer and closer to Trump. Most recently, an image of Homelander shared by The Boys's social media accounts directly parodied Trump's latest ridiculous stunt.

In the wake of Pope Francis's death, Trump's social media accounts, including the White House's account, thought it would be a good idea to share, what looks to be, an AI-generated image of the aging president in the Pope's signature white and gold robes and hat. The photo had many people questioning his motives behind the ridiculous,...

“The Studio” Episode 8, Is the Perfect Satire on Hollywood’s Vain Need for Recognition
Image
The Studio’s Episode 8 is out, it’s called “The Golden Globes,” and it is another hilarious take on Hollywood and the politics, power, and ego games that come along with it. This time, the backdrop of the episode is the Golden Globe Awards, and it follows how Matt Remick, the head of Continental Studios, is desperately looking to be thanked in Zoe Kravitz’s speech.

The entire episode is a cat and mouse game of Matt trying to get a thank you in Zoe’s speech, for her film ‘Open’. What follows is a hilarious series of events that sheds light on the constant need for people in showbiz to be acknowledged and praised by their peers.

Hollywood’s obsessions with praise and recognition

The episode “The Golden Globes” has adequately shown how people in Hollywood have the innate need to be recognized and thanked, and appreciated for their contribution in huge award ceremonies.

The Boys Season 5’s Supernatural Reunion Gets Exciting Update From Eric Kripke
Image
Eric Kripke provides an exciting update on the highly anticipated Supernatural reunion that will take place in The Boys season 5. Kripke, who is the showrunner of Supernatural and The Boys, previously reunited with Jensen Ackles, who made his debut as Soldier Boy in season 3 of the Prime Video show. It was later confirmed that Ackles' Supernatural co-stars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins would be joining The Boys season 5's cast, thus creating a reunion between the actors who played Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, and Castiel.

While speaking with TV Insider, Kripke revealed that the scenes featuring the three Supernatural stars have already been shot. He also confirmed that Ackles, Padalecki, and Collins are all part of the same storyline in The Boys season 5 and that their characters will interact with each other. Eric Kripke Drops a Spectacular Update on ‘The Boys’ Season 5's ‘Supernatural’ Reunion
Image
In Toronto, the reunion Supernatural fans have been waiting for since 2020 has officially come and gone. Speaking with TV Insider, The Boys and Supernatural creator, Eric Kripke, revealed that perhaps the most anticipated episode of the upcoming final season has already been filmed. But there’s even better intel than that today, with Kripke sharing perhaps the most exciting update of all — Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins will be featured in the same scene together, just like old times.

Catching fans up on what to expect, Kripke said,

“It’s a blast. We already shot it. I will confirm that Jared, Jensen, and Misha are all in the same frame together, and in the same storyline, and interacting with each other.”

Pulling on our heartstrings and leaning into the nostalgia of it all, Kripke added,

“It’s almost like three people fighting underwater”: I Was Sad Steven Yeun Pulled Out of Thunderbolts* But Lewis Pullman Proved Me Wrong
Image
Back in 2023, like all other Marvel fanatics, I was over the moon when I heard Steven Yeun was cast as Sentry in Thunderbolts*, a dream reunion with director Jake Schreier after their killer collaboration on Beef, Netflix’s sharp and hilarious hit. I could already see Yeun crushing it as the unhinged, super-powered Bob Reynolds.

But then, scheduling conflicts from the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strikes threw a wrench in the plans, and Yeun had to bow out. The void left a sinking feeling and a question: Who will replace the star? Enter Lewis Pullman, handpicked by Schreier to step into the Sentry role, and let me tell you, this guy turned all the disappointment into straight-up hype with a pure dynamite performance.

Sentry and the Void’s Powers Explained: How the World War Hulk Managed to Beat Him?
Image
When Marvel’s strongest heroes clash, it’s never just about who can punch harder; it’s about who breaks first. And no showdown embodies that better than the explosive face-off between Sentry and the Hulk during World War Hulk. On one side, you’ve got the Hulk, angrier than ever, and on a revenge mission that no Avenger can stop. On the other hand is the Sentry, Marvel’s unstable golden god with the power of “a million exploding suns”… and a dark side that makes even villains nervous.

This wasn’t your average comic book brawl. It was emotional, messy, and apocalyptic in scale. But here’s the thing: this fight wasn’t just physical—it was personal. Two of Marvel’s most powerful forces go head-to-head in a battle that shook not only buildings, but the very foundations of who they are.

So what happens when unlimited rage meets unlimited power?...

Thunderbolts*: Lewis Pullman Details Why He Was Scared to Be Sentry, MCU’s Strongest Superhero Yet
Image
For a really long time (way back to when DC released Man of Steel), Marvel fans have been begging for Sentry’s debut in the MCU. Now, after over a decade, Marvel finally heard our plea, and guess what? Lewis Pullman is appearing in Thunderbolts* as a wildcard member of the team, Bob Reynolds aka Sentry/The Void.

However, while fans got what they wanted, Lewis Pullman wasn’t so sure about his role in the film. Reflecting on the responsibilities he received upon debuting in the MCU, Pullman told Dexerto about being terrified while experiencing nightmares and sleepless nights. However, he later admitted that despite the immense weight on his shoulders, the process was rather “illuminating”.

Thunderbolts*: Sorry Antony Starr, but Even Lewis Pullman Knows Sentry Would Wipe the Floor With Homelander
Image
In every person’s life, there comes a time when they compare themselves with Antony Starr’s Homelander either mentally or physically. Well, most of the time, the answers aren’t to our liking. Fans often love to compare two superheroes from different universes to find out the superior one. Well, this time around, it’s the MCU vs. The Boys!

However, for Thunderbolts* star Lewis Pullman, the question isn’t even a serious one, as the actor took almost no time to respond. His answer? It seems that only a fight between Homelander and Sentry can bring peace between the two iconic stars!

Who would win in a fight: Sentry or Antony Starr’s Homelander?

You can already hear people squeezing their b*tts on what’s about to happen. Well, we are doing it, and this time, the fight is between Antony Starr’s Homelander and Lewis Pullman...

‘Thunderbolts*’: Lewis Pullman Finally Reveals If Sentry Can Defeat Superman and It’s Game On for James Gunn
Image
As The Sentry makes his way to the MCU, fans have yet again begun debating if the character is going to be able to beat Superman. Omni-Man and Homelander were also on the receiving end of this treatment when they first broke into the mainstream, and their respective actors, J.K. Simmons and Antony Starr, had their own takes on how that matchup would proceed.

Lewis Pullman has lent his two cents on the Sentry/Superman match-up, revealing whether he thinks that he would win or not. From what the actor had to say, however, it might be some time before The Sentry can actually square up against Superman. However, Pullman might have inadvertently pointed out what exactly Superman might need to do as well.

If ‘The Boys’ Season 5 Cops Out With These 3 Endings, We Might As Well Watch the First Four Seasons on Loop
Image
Endings. Endings. Endings. It’s not a good feeling when a show that you very much like reaches its finale. That’s where several shows and movies fail miserably, and they go from the best thing you’d ever see to the worst show in all of humanity (*cough* Game of Thrones).

Well, another show that has been doing so great so far is Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys, and that has me worried. With 4 iconic seasons to its name, the show has received worldwide fame and acclaim, and the final season is upon us. So naturally, we decided to write an article on how The Boys could screw it up (hopefully not).

The Boys can have three terrible endings

The obvious choice would be Antony Starr’s Homelander winning it all (and that would be an amazing ending), but for the sake of this article, we will be eliminating that potential ending.

‘Gen V’ Season 1: Polarity Might Be Overbearing, But He’s Still a Better Dad Than Homelander Could Ever Dream Of
Image
The Boys has explored Homelander’s complex psyche in its four seasons, especially through his connection with his son, Ryan. Homelander is despicable, but his actions toward his son particularly highlight his darker side, which is aggravated by his own daddy issues and upbringing.

On the other hand, the spin-off series Gen V included an equally complex father figure in Polarity. The first season explored the borderline toxic relationship between Polarity and his son, Andre. Despite the misguided nature of Polairty’s concern, he is still a much better father than Homelander, and here is why.

Gen V season 1 proved Polarity is a better dad than Homelander

The Boys introduced viewers to Homelander (Antony Starr), a near-maniacal superhero who was grown in a lab. As a result, he struggles with his identity, especially when he discovers he has a superpowered son, Ryan. However, Homelander ends up projecting his insecurities on Ryan,...

‘The Boys’ Turned Kendall Jenner’s Tone-Deaf Moment Into Emmy-Worthy Satire, and These Two Icons Might Be Next in Line
Image
What if superheroes were just attention-hungry influencers in capes, controlled by their PR firms? Welcome to The Boys, one of the wildest and grittiest shows of our time, which paints a picture of what happens when fame and power collide. Instead of saving the day with noble hearts, most of the ‘heroes’ in the series are selfish, broken, and manipulated by companies.

Over the years, The Boys has built a reputation for featuring political and social satires and diving headfirst into mocking pop culture. The show has held up a mirror to our celebrity-obsessed culture multiple times. So let’s look at a few moments of their razor-sharp wit and what we can expect to see next on the show.

Denzel Washington & Mark Wahlberg's 2013 Action Comedy Gets Second Life On Prime Video
Image
Denzel Washington is one of the most accomplished actors in Hollywood history, and a rare example of a star who has maintained a commitment to challenging roles that showcase his unique talent. He was outstanding in Joel Coen's 2021 expressionist nightmare "The Tragedy of Macbeth" and in a 2016 adaptation of August Wilson's "Fences," which, while it was a flop, remains Denzel's favorite movie role. But we'd all be kidding ourselves if we didn't acknowledge our insatiable appetite for watching Denzel Washington punch and shoot his way through an action movie.

The veteran star has proved his ability to hand out beatdowns even as a 70-year-old with his "Equalizer" trilogy. But Washington also has some lesser-known action outings that, while not quite as viscerally satisfying as his "Equalizer" movies (or Tony Scott's "Man on Fire"), are still a heck of a lot of fun.

Take "2 Guns," for example. This...

'The Wheel of Time' Showrunner Teases a Very Different Season 4
Image
Not long after The Wheel of Time showrunner likened the series to Game of Thrones in a Season 4 update, Rafe Judkins is back to deliver yet another outlook on the show’s future. The Wheel of Time Season 3 wrapped up in an explosive finale on April 17, “He Who Comes with the Dawn,” but the show has yet to be renewed for Season 4 at Prime Video, despite an extremely positive reception thus far. The fantasy series is based on the popular novels by Robert Jordan, and there’s still plenty of story left to tell. During a recent interview with THR, The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins previewed the future of the franchise, promising a different Season 4 if the crew gets the chance to make it, but also citing differences in the TV landscape:

"That is the same thing that I’ve been sort of asking Amazon — what is the end game for the show?...

Prime Video's New No. 1 Movie Features The Boys' Homelander Actor As The Villain
Image
He's spent the last six years putting the fear in fans of superhero shows, courtesy of a milk addiction and a dead-eyed stare that comes with laser vision, but now, "The Boys" award-nominated villain, Antony Starr, has gone bad in a feature-length film over at Prime Video. And according to FlixPatrol, this movie has quickly shot to the streaming service's number one spot.

Joining the niche genre of presidential protagonists that get up to their elbows in an action-packed story is Viola Davis in "G20." Directed by Patricia Riggen, the film sees Davis as US President and Army veteran Danielle Sutton, who gets caught up in a hostage situation during the G20 summit. Heading up the operation of holding world leaders at gunpoint is Rutledge (Starr), a former Australian Special Forces operative who is willing to send the free world into chaos if his demands aren't met.
