In the 1971 Eurovision Song Contest, he teamed up with Lily Castel to sing "Goeiemorgen, Morgen" for the Belgian entry on short notice after Nicole Josy of Nicole & Hugo fell ill.
He has more than 400 compositions to his name, including success numbers for many Flemish artists, orchestras and Big Bands.
He won in 1968 Jacques the Golden Mermaid in Middelkerke.
He represented Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 1963 with the Dutch song "Waarom?".
In 1965 came Jacques Raymond the winner in the Knokke Cup. He is there on the honour roll in addition to throbbing names such as Engelbert Humperdinck, Udo Jürgens, Liesbeth List and Malcolm Roberts.
