Gowan, who joined the band back in 1999, recently opened up about how the Chicago-based group has withstood the test of time, crediting Eric Cartman, Stan Marsh and Kyle Broflovski’s rendition of “Come Sail Away” in Season Two’s “Cartman’s Mom is Still a Dirty Slut” with introducing young people to the stylings of Styx.
“I’m happy to admit that I’d say it’s one percent our effort and 99 percent South Park’s influence,” the musician told Boomerocity when asked about the show’s role in Styx garnering younger fans.

When Eric Cartman declared, “Girls rule. Women are funny. Get over it,” was he really talking about Whitney Cummings?
Every South Park fan who spent the latter half of the 2010s complaining about Amy Schumer’s popularity on Reddit knows this bit intimately: Throughout South Park Season 20, Cartman was on a seemingly sarcastic campaign to prove to the rest of South Park that girls — including his girlfriend Heidi — can be funny. On multiple occasions, Cartman attempted to goad his female classmates into proving his point by making jokes centered around the phrases “my vagina” and the aforementioned affirmation, which Trey Parker, Matt Stone and the South Park writers copied word-for-word from the title of the New York Times’ review of the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s massively renovated and revitalized Casa Bonita is still in its soft opening phase, but Colorado’s food critics are already prepared to crown a top entrée to be ravenously devoured while the Lakewood police close in.
Back in March, the international South Park fandom learned that the waitlist to get a table at Casa Bonita during the pre-grand-opening stage of Parker and Stone’s eight-figure relaunch counted 600,000 potential patrons waiting eagerly for their turn to tour the towering pink temple of tacos and entertainment. Over the last five months, that number has certainly grown faster than Casa Bonita can seat its patient guests, so those of us who are champing at the bit to plan our pilgrimage to Lakewood, Colorado to experience a more luxurious, less felonious version of Eric Cartman’s dinner-and-a-show speed run in the iconic 2003 South Park episode “Casa Bonita” probably...

South Park is one of the most hilarious TV shows ever made. The show is still going strong today as there remains an interest in the show's unique type of edgy satire. Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have poked fun at endless amounts of celebrities, trends and politics over the years. Some of the character appearances have been so outrageous and popular that they've returned many times over the years.
Eric Cartman and the three other boys are hilarious, but they aren't all the show is about and far from what make the world of South Park so entertaining. Characters that were in the background during South Park's early years have come to the forefront as the show has evolved, with Randy Marsh being the best example.

Thanks to South Park, some men have come to realize that equality means queefs and farts coexisting.
When Trey Parker and Matt Stone wrote the South Park Season 13 episode “Eat, Pray, Queef,” they intended the April 1, 2009 show to be a parody of their most enraging April Fool’s Day prank from exactly 11 years earlier. Back in the Season Two premiere, “Terrance and Phillip in Not Without My Anus,” the South Park writers entirely ignored the cliffhanger that they established in the previous episode “Cartman’s Mom Is a Dirty Slut,” wherein they teased the identity of Eric Cartman’s father, instead choosing to make an entire episode out of their Canadian, fart-friendly show-within-a-show Terrance and Phillip.
In “Eat, Pray, Queef,” Cartman and his friends anxiously await an equally important second-part episode of their favorite cartoon, only to find that Terrance and Phillip have been replaced by “The Queef Sisters,” who...

The television industry has covered a range of genres and formats since the earliest serialized stories were produced for home audiences. As the industry has grown, more ground has been covered, and the range of stories told has only become more diverse. Many of these series will revolve around a core cast of characters, at the heart of which is almost always a heartfelt, entertaining, and relatable friendship.
Friendships often become the most compelling part of a TV series, and can range from will they/won't they potential romances to buddy cop situations. While romances can also maintain interest in a show, a good, well-crafted friendship can build a dedicated, passionate fan base. Someone tell Eric Cartman that Casa Bonita, aka “Mexican Disneyland,” has been saved from the clutches of bankruptcy. Amid fears that the real eatery would be closed for good, “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have struck a deal to purchase the landmark Colorado restaurant depicted on the show.
The Colorado natives met with Gov. Jared Polis Friday to break the good news.
“As of about an hour ago, pending bankruptcy proceedings, we’ve come to an agreement with the owner and we’ve bought it,” Stone told Polis during the livestream held by the governor’s office.
Casa Bonita was a formative piece of both mens’ childhoods (and their TV show). In July, they told The Hollywood Reporter that they’d been dreaming of purchasing the restaurant for years but felt especially motivated once it shuttered due to the coronavirus pandemic.

South Park's foul-mouthed characters are not for everyone. The show is known for its adult humor and may cause some to raise their eyebrows. However, beyond Cartman's fart jokes and Randy's marijuana marketing strategies, there are some memorable quotes in South Park that don't have a single cuss in them.

The creators of South Park are looking to buy the Casa Bonita restaurant featured on the show, and we can only imagine Eric Cartman would be proud. Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the duo that first launched South Park on Comedy Central in 1997, once prominently featured the real-life establishment in a season 11 episode in 2003. Now, with Casa Bonita in danger of going under, Parker and Stone are looking to swoop in and save the restaurant.
"We want to buy Casa Bonita and treat it right. I feel like it was neglected even before the pandemic," Parker told The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday. "We are absolutely trying to buy it. We are going to do everything we can. We want to make it right and make it amazing."

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are fighting for the future of Casa Bonita, or “Mexican Disneyland,” as Eric Cartman would say. The “South Park” creators are in talks to purchase the iconic Colorado restaurant featured in their hit animated series.
The duo shared their plans to buy the original Casa Bonita in an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday.
“We want to buy Casa Bonita and treat it right. I feel like it was neglected even before the pandemic,” Parker told the outlet.
“We are absolutely trying to buy it,” he added. “We are going to do everything we can. We want to make it right and make it amazing.”
Casa Bonita was a childhood favorite for Parker and Stone while growing up in the Denver area.
“We started talking about the changes we’re going to make — mostly with the food,” Parker continued. “We’re going to make really awesome food.

Out of the four best friends that Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s biting satirical comedy South Park revolves around, Kyle Broflovski and Eric Cartman share the most vitriolic relationship. Eric Cartman is one of the most beloved icons of the small screen. He’s also one of the most controversial, as he and South Park as a whole have faced protests from concerned parents and Christian groups for the past 20 years. And looking at his love of Adolf Hitler and his casual racism, sexism, and above all, anti-Semitism, it’s easy to see why these protestors see a problem.

Comedy Central’s flagship show, South Park, reaches its milestone 300th episode this week. Check out this preview clip!
South Park defied expectations of being a brief blip in the zeitgeist, remaining a driving force on Comedy Central’s lineup over 22 years after its August 13, 1997 debut, “Cartman Gets an Anal Probe,” introduced viewers to the foul-mouthed foursome of the eponymous Colorado town. Flashing forward to Season 23, South Park has, in recent years, reinvented itself as an annual event series driven by ongoing season-long stories. However, the show still embraces its long-held fresh topical nature, and this week’s airing of the show’s 300th episode affirms that notion.

Flashing forward to Season 23, South Park has, in recent years, reinvented itself as an annual event series driven by ongoing season-long stories. However, the show still embraces its long-held fresh topical nature, and this week’s airing of the show’s 300th episode affirms that notion.
The 300th episode of South Park, Season 23, Episode 3, “Shots!!!,” has released a preview clip, revealing its next topical target: the anti-vaxxer movement. The episode will premiere in its usual time slot, on Comedy Central, on Wednesday, October 9 at 10 p.
