After much nerve-jangling and limited training, Digital Spy's plucky friends Matt Littler and Darren Jeffries have finally taken to the stage for their first-ever stand-up comedy gig.
The former Hollyoaks duo have been in training to perform on the behalf of DS at the Leicester Comedy Festival and their final performance is here for you to enjoy and judge.
Watch Matt and Darren's final performance at the Leicester Comedy Festival:
Digital Spy Diary: Darren Jeffries
Did it! We went on stage at Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival with the main aim of making people laugh, and we actually managed to raise a few giggles! And one actual cackle from my girlfriend, but I guess that can't count. Biased, you see.
And it seemed to go smoothly! An attack of dry mouth at the start which I guess is the norm, and a few of our main sections got swapped around during,...

Pat Monahan has won 'Show Me The Funny'. The 35-year-old comedian beat off stiff competition from fellow finalists Tiffany Stevenson and Dan Mitchell to be crowned champion of the ITV1 show in a nail-biting live final - hosted by Jason Manford - in front of an audience of 3,000 at London's Hammersmith Apollo last night (25.08.11). However, the Teeside-born funnyman admitted after having faced criticism from judge Kate Copstick for being a "warm-up act got lucky", he made sure he turned off his "banter button". Pat exclusively told Bang Showbiz: "I genuinely never even thought I'd get past the first week, let alone...

"I don't have anything to be nervous about. I just sit there wearing too much make-up and my big hair," giggles TV's new Miss Nasty, Kate Copstick. The Show Me The Funny judge is fired up and prepped with her finest barbs ahead of tonight's live final. The prize for the winning comic is a potentially career-changing DVD deal and £100,000. Digital Spy caught up with Copstick for her no-nonsense judgements on the Top 3. Tiffany Stevenson:
"I think it's a fascinating mix. I never ever imagined Tiff would be in the final. She's grown a lot in the series. That's why she is there. I'm looking for Tiff to put something of herself in the set. I want to hear and feel something about her. "I want to hear her voice. I don't just want to see someone who has been Mc-ing since year dot who has lots of confidence...

Show Me The Funny comes to a grand conclusion on Thursday night with a live three-way finale on ITV1. One person not taking part, sadly, is 27-year-old former model Ellie Taylor, who was eliminated from the contest in Monday's semi-final. We caught up with Ellie to chat about her time on the show, women in comedy and Smtf's 'Miss Nasty' Kate Copstick. How disappointing was it to miss out on the final?
"It was more disappointing watching it last night with a bit of distance. It would have been quite cool to do that on Thursday night. But at the time, I knew it was coming. In a way it was a relief that I didn't have to go through this horrendous process anymore." You didn't have too many disasters on the show. Were you pleased with how you came across?

Kate Copstick thinks 'Show Me The Funny' finalist Pat Monahan is a "warm-up man got lucky". The Glasgow-born comedienne - who judges the ITV1 show alongside Alan Davies and a different guest panellist each week - believes the 35-year-old funnyman needs to prove himself as a "proper stand up" at tonight's (25.08.11) live final at London's Hammersmith Apollo. She exclusively told Bang Showbiz: "We need finally to hear his voice, his original material. He can't go around the Hammersmith Apollo hugging people and you can't just talk to the front row in a venue that size. "I am really looking forward to...

Ellie Taylor and Stuart Goldsmith were eliminated during the penultimate episode of ITV1's Show Me the Funny. After six weeks, former model Taylor and ex-circus performer Goldsmith were both evicted from the show, leaving three contestants to battle it out during Thursday's live final. Ex-undertaker Dan Mitchell, Patrick Monahan and Tiffany Stevenson were put through to the final during Monday's episode, for a chance of winning £100,000, a DVD deal and a nationwide tour from September 17. The three hopefuls will each perform a set of new material at the Hammersmith Apollo for the final. Host Jason Manford will be joined by judges Alan Davies and Kate Copstick, along with former guest judges Bob Mortimer, Ross Noble and Johnny Vegas. Each of the guest judges will partner with a finalist to help them prepare for the performance. Noble will (more)...

Alfie Moore has become the fifth person eliminated from Show Me The Funny after a disastrous gig in front of a bunch of rowdy rugby players. The police sergeant faced off with charity worker Dan Mitchell in South Wales after disappointing judges with his failure to recover from a dismal opening gag. "It's like you had received a death threat," guest judge Johnny Vegas commented. "You were walking around like, 'Oh f**k, any minute could be the end'." In a rare display of concern, Kate Copstick told the bottom two: "I'm sad (more)...

Rudi Lickwood became the latest comedian to be voted off 'Show Me The Funny' last night (08.08.11). The 47-year-old funnyman failed to impress judges Kate Copstick, Alan Davies and guest panellist Jo Brand with his routine in front of a group of doctors and nurses. However, the former Eddie Murphy lookalike isn't too bothered by his departure from the show, as he insists he is capable of doing Kate's job on the ITV1 series. He exclusively told Bang Showbiz: "Before 'Show Me The Funny' I actually discovered comedians. Basically, I can do Kate Copstick's job but she can't do mine." Despite being axed from...

Cole Parker became the third comedian to be voted off 'Show Me The Funny' last night (01.08.11). The 37-year-old funnyman was unanimously given the boot from the ITV1 show by judges Kate Copstick and Alan Davies, as well as guest panellist Ross Noble, after they deemed his performance in front of a school of 12 to 14-year-old pupils not good enough. However, while Cole thinks Kate was "unprofessional" to deem his routine "s**t", he believes she only lets that side of her personality out because she wants to fulfil the harsh-tongued "Simon Cowell" position on the judging panel. He exclusively told Bang Showbiz:...

Cole is expelled as he finds himself bottom of the class
Playtime is over after another unsettling gig for the comics, this time in front of a school of 12 to 14 year old students. Once they’ve all performed their set, it’s back to class to find out who failed to make the grade and will be heading home.
As they decide who should be brought back in the bottom two, guest judge Ross Noble has a dig at the ever-stern Kate Copstick, mockingly impersonating her cut throat approach: “If I had an ounce of humanity in my soul…” But she bluntly interrupts: “That’s not what I’m here for.”
After calamitous performances, Rudi and Cole are called back to discover their fate with Kate’s sharp tongue immediately cutting in: “Rudi, you need to get over yourself. You’re too old, too ugly and too experienced to be mucking about like this,...

Cole Parker became the third contestant eliminated from ITV1's Show Me The Funny tonight after he was blasted for having an over-inflated ego by judge Kate Copstick. Alan Davies and Copstick both agreed that Parker had been a disappointment in all three gigs so far in the competition, but Copstick took things further, describing the 37-year-old as "quite s**t". "Cole, I think you're quite s**t. I've seen you three weeks on the trot and I don't think you are a good comic and I don't think you can read a room," she said. (more)...

Prince Abdi became the second contestant to be eliminated from 'Show Me The Funny' last night (25.07.11). The former primary school teacher turned comedian - who was once a semi-professional footballer - was given the boot from the ITV1 show by judges Kate Copstick and Alan Davies after his stand-up routine failed to impress 250 servicemen, which he describes as a "terrifying experience". He exclusively told Bang Showbiz: "It was terrifying. It was very very hard. The most difficult thing was opening the show and putting my new material out there. Ignacio Lopez became the first comedian to be voted off 'Show Me The Funny' last night (18.07.11). The Spanish barman failed to amuse audiences with his self-styled lothario act and after his gags were met with awkward silences, judges Alan Davies, Kate Copstick and guest panellist Jimmy Tarbuck decided to send him home. However, the 24-year-old funnyman thinks it's a shame he was the first casualty of the ITV1 show - hosted by Jason Manford - because it was it was one of the few bad comedic gigs he's ever done. Spanish comic Ignacio Lopez has become the first contestant eliminated from ITV1's Show Me The Funny. The 24-year-old former cinema usher was compared to a "car crash" by comedy critic Kate Copstick following his performance for an all-female crowd in Liverpool. Lopez found himself in the bottom two alongside ex-footballer Prince Abdi and was voted off unanimously by the judges - Copstick, Alan Davies and guest panellist Jimmy Tarbuck. Copstick told Lopez: "I thought it was like watching a low-speed car crash. I think when you came on it was interesting because you had a character - 'the great lover'. (more)...
