WWF No Mercy‘s generally accepted status as the greatest wrestling game ever made has always been a pleasant curiosity in a world that’s often defined by our divisiveness and desire to argue for the sake of arguing.
WWF No Mercy is so beloved that it’s often hard to get someone to analytically break it down without eventually succumbing to wistful ramblings. Yet, the qualities that made the game so special really aren’t that complicated. In fact, much of the game’s success can be attributed to how uncomplicated it was.
Essentially an evolution of developer Aki Corporation’s previous N64 wrestling games (which notably included WCW/nWo Revenge and WWF WrestleMania 2000), No Mercy‘s calling card was its arcade-like gameplay that emphasized a rock/paper/scissors style system of stong/weak grapples, strikes, and counters. It was remarkably uncomplicated to pick up and play, but deep enough to master.

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and my ass looks like “On Golden Pond”. We’ve got some stuff from some people and some other stuff from some other people. Is that vague? I never wanted to be a cheerleader. Housekeeping? Who is this? I like wrestling.
Match #1: Best Friends defeated Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus with Marko Stunt) The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
“Due to inactivity and what is going on in the world, The Dark Order could be dropping down in the rankings,” observed Excalibur. Jungle Boy got Chuck in a beautiful side headlock takeover. Jungle Boy went for a single leg crab, Chuck escaped, but Jungle Boy countered with a rollup for a two-count. Trent and Luchasaurus both tagged in. Luchasaurus used his size to throw Trent into the turnbuckles after a collar and elbow lock up.

Welcome to this week’s Aew: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I pulled my vagina. The TNT Title tournament is in full-swing, which is fine as long as the stick doesn’t explode when it comes back this way. As I piano-key my teeth in case this dynamite explodes near my face, why don’t you read the review?
Match #1: Cody Rhodes defeated Darby Allin – TNT Championship Tournament Semi Final Match The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Jericho said he was impressed with the previous performances in the match between Darby and Sammy Guevara, as both wrestlers left everything they had in the ring. It showed how important the TNT Championship is to both of them, and everyone in the tournament. Shawn Spears was watching behind the ringside barrier, still stewing over his loss to Cody. Cody and Darby locked up in the center of the ring.

Welcome to this week’s Aew: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and while I ponder my stupidity, let the chick from Andy Warhol’s “The Chubby Mermaid” guide you through another card from Tony Khan’s Playhouse.
Match #1: Darby Allin defeated Sammy Guevara – TNT Championship Tournament Quarter Final Match The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
The winner will go on to face Cody in the second round. Sammy is on a three-match winning streak. “Has there been a bigger break-out star since the beginning of Dynamite eight months ago than Darby Allin?” pondered Jericho. As Darby made his way to the ring, Sammy jumped him, propelling himself over the top rope! “The match has not even started! The bell has not even sounded!” said Schiavone. Sammy whipped Darby into the steel barricade on the outside. “This was The Inner Circle’s plan, and Sammy followed through,...

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have Jake Roberts’s fighter making their debut. Madea! Madea! Y’all need to whop that little b—-’s ass!
Match #1: Cody Rhodes defeated Ortiz The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Ortiz gave Cody a head-butt to the midsection, and then an Irish whip to the turnbuckle. “The Murderhawk” Lance Archer, alongside Jake “the Snake” Roberts, made their way through the crowd in the stands to get a closer view of Cody’s match! Cody threw Ortiz into the metal steps on the outside of the ring. Santana distracted Cody, and Ortiz kicked Cody’s leg out from under him. “That wheel is giving Cody some problems right now,” said Jim Ross. Ortiz suplexed Cody, but “the American Nightmare” lifted his shoulders before the three-count. Ortiz tried...

See big monkey smash whiny puss-bags! They cry, they moan, they b—-…then they get smashed! Millennials versus King Kong! Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! F— yeah! Also, Pac and Kenny Omega have their big Iron-Man Match, right now.
Match #1: Kenny Omega defeated Pac – 30 Minute Iron-Man Match The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
This was the rubber match in a three match series, and what a way to kick off Dynamite! “The question is, is Pac here to win, or to hurt…or both?” asked Jim Ross. Kenny Omega was walked down to the ring by his Elite friends—Nick and Matt Jackson, the Young Bucks. “Hangman” Adam Page was conspicuous by his absence. Pac and Omega tied up with wristlocks to begin,...
