Sadia, born in 1997, hails from the valley of J&K. She had no plans of entering the film industry, and was, in fact, pursuing an engineering course in GCET (Government College of Engineering and Technology). In the year 2017, when she was just 20 years old, a casting director from Mumbai named Indu Sharma phoned her. A couple of weeks later, Sadia was chosen to play 'Shanti' opposite the other freshly-cast lead of Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 'Shikara', Aadil Khan.
She, along with Aadil Khan, had to stay off social media for 3 years, right from when she began working on the film in 2017, till its release in February 2020.
Was initially approached over a phone-call to star in Imtiaz Ali's 'Laila Majnu', which she turned down because she didn't believe someone in Mumbai was looking to cast her.
Has never acted before 'Shikara'.
Was only 20 years old when she was first approached for Shikara.
Calls the story of how she got selected for Shikara a 'fairy tale' - and rightfully so.
