Tom Hardy has once again entered television after his famous role as Alfie Solomons in Peaky Blinders. He is currently playing London fixer Harry Da Souza in the crime drama, MobLand. The series also stars Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren in the leading roles, with The Day of the Jackal fame Ronan Bennett serving as the creator and co-writer.
For Hardy, the project came at a time when he was just out of his third film in the Venom universe. There was a whole lot of uncertainty after he wrapped up the trilogy in the superhero genre. MobLand was his answer to this uncertainty, which had a similar vein to that of the Venom films.

Bilingual thriller Exterritorial climbs to #1 in a day!(Photo Credit –Netflix)
Netflix might still be the home of spooky teens and supernatural towns, but its spotlight has been drifting steadily eastward and further out into the world. In 2025, its appetite for international content is stronger than ever, especially when it comes to K-dramas. That’s hardly surprising given its past wins with titles like When Life Gives You Tangerines and Revelations.
Now, with Squid Game gearing up for its third season later this year, the Korean wave on Netflix isn’t losing momentum any time soon. But Korea isn’t the only passport stamp in Netflix’s growing collection. Its catalog of non-English-language films is thriving as well. Take Under Paris, for example. That French shark thriller became the second most-watched non-English language movie in Netflix’s history, racking up over 102 million views.
Just ahead of it is Troll from Norway,...

Lera Abova made quite a buzz when her role in the One Piece live-action was announced. The news spotlighted her previous roles in various films and showcased her diversity as an actor. From Anna to Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, she has dabbled in various genres of movies.
Other than that, Abova has modelled for Gucci, Ysl, Dior, Chanel, and Prada. She is a multitalented artist. When it comes to acting, though, it seems she has luck on her side. Her recent thriller movie Extraterritorial has topped the charts, but hold up! It dethroned a movie starring a top-shelf actor.
Tom Hardy’s Havoc was surpassed by the thriller movie, and it is an impressive feat. The trailer seemed so promising, and so did Abova’s acting, which makes one thing certain. Her role in the upcoming One Piece live-action is highly favorable for the franchise, and here’s why.

Netflix continues to release original movies and TV shows at a regular cadence. The streamer recently released titles like The Electric State (2025) and The Life List (2025), with Havoc starring Tom Hardy marking one of Netflix's most recent films. Havoc reviews weren't glowing from critics or audiences, but the gritty action movie has been a big viewership hit, topping the charts upon its release on April 25.
Though Havoc and many of the streamer's other big titles are presented in English, Netflix is a platform with a global reach, meaning non-English titles continue to be an important part of the service's offerings. Recently, Netflix released non-English titles like iHostage (2025), Demon City (2025), Counterattack (2025), Bullet Train Explosion (2025), and The Eternaut (2025–). Now, another recent non-English title has broken through.

Netflix might have gained popularity as a studio with popular series like Stranger Things, Wednesday, and Bridgerton, but the streamer has also focused on giving a platform to foreign titles. After Squid Game's undeniable success, Netflix further branched out with many new foreign films and TV shows that were extremely popular online.
Netflix non-English language movies have received millions of views in the past year, with Under Paris reaching the top of the charts, and being joined in the Top 10 list by this year's French action movie Ad Vitam and Mexican military film Counterattack. It also found success with titles like Revelations, the Swedish limited series The Glass Dome and the Dutch thriller iHostage. Now, the bilingual German-English action thriller Exterritorial beat Tom Hardy's Havoc to the top of the charts after just one day on the platform, per FlixPatrol.
Exterritorial premiered on Netflix on Apr. 30, just five days after Havoc.

Netflix continues to deliver exactly what many action movie fans are looking for with its latest foray into the genre, which is streaming on the platform now. Taking its cues from the beloved Liam Neeson-led action thriller Taken, but with more twists and turns, Exterritorial follows a former soldier with a violent past who finds herself taking on the system when her son mysteriously goes missing. The reviews for Exterritorial have now started to emerge, and it certainly sounds like the streamer has another action movie hit on their hands...

Netflix debuted a twisty new thriller yesterday and it’s already claimed the top spot on the platform. The film in question is Exterritorial, which actually sounds a little like a German-language reimagining of the 2005 film Flightplan. I haven’t checked out Exterritorial yet, but I couldn’t help noticing that both pictures feature a similar skeletal outline. Each sees a frenzied mother looking for a lost child whose existence no one seems to have any recollection of. Flightplan was a smash hit at the box office in 2005, and Exterritorial is following suit by tearing up the Netflix charts immediately after premiering on the platform.
Similarities to the Jodie Foster thriller Flightplan aside, Netflix subscribers are responding to Exterritorial with ample enthusiasm. Some viewers have even taken to social media to share their reactions, the majority of which skew quite positive. You can scope a sampling of responses from viewers directly below.

Sara’s world collapses under the vaulted ceilings of a German-built U.S. consulate, where her son vanishes as if erased by sovereign decree. In this claustrophobic thriller, every corridor becomes a battleground between maternal instinct and institutional power—a tension born from the collision of German filmmaking’s gritty realism and Hollywood’s sleek, high-stakes spectacle.
An ex-Special Forces soldier haunted by an Afghanistan mission, Sara (Jeanne Goursaud) arrives with six-year-old Josh to secure a work visa—only to discover that within these walls, American law reigns and her own memories can be weaponized against her. Under Christian Zübert’s dual role as writer and director, Exterritorial fuses handheld-camera immediacy with meticulously staged fight choreography, while the setting itself—steel-edged hallways, bilingual signage, security checkpoints—underscores the uneasy idea of “exterritorial” ground.

I’m not sure about you, but the reason I don’t generally enjoy action movies is that the character motivations happen to be the same in almost every single one, that there is no way something that simple could go so wrong, and that there’s only so much you can enjoy watching people beat each other up. Yet when the action is accompanied by a motivating factor that drives you as an audience to vibe with the thumping sound of drums and get you to root for a side to emerge victorious, then it becomes good cinema. When it comes to women in action cinema, it is rare to see a motivation that doesn’t draw from family identity or revenge for Sa. Exterritorial focuses on the first of those two categories. In this movie, Sara, an ex-Bundeswehr soldier, finds herself tearing apart the US consulate in...

The Final Saga of One Piece is ramping up to be exciting, as all the elements are coming together to deliver an epic finale. The Straw Hats are finding themselves in trouble, and were even captured by Gunko, until Sommers let them go. There are many enemies that are far more terrifying and have yet to show their battle prowess.
This includes the immortal God’s Knights, who are seriously tough opponents, even for the current Straw Hats. The God’s Knights are the elite guard of the Holy Land Mary Geoise, with authority to oversee the World Nobles.
Not to mention, there have been figures like Garling among the roster of the God’s Knight, and with their connection to Imu, the God’s Knights seem to have obtained a ridiculous ability to regenerate themselves, making them almost invincible in battle.
Law could turn the tide against the God...

Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers for One Piece Episode 1127.
One Piece episode 1127 saw the continuation of Luffy vs. Kizaru, and I can honestly say that their battle has exceeded expectations. The series’ return from the six-month hiatus has been an incredible one considering the episodes that have been produced by Toei, but episode 1127 takes it to a new level.
The highlight of the episode was certainly the bout between the One Piece protagonist and the Navy Admiral. But I won’t shy away from pointing out that other moments also held up perfectly, and it’s all thanks to Toei’s dedication towards the animation.
From Zoro vs. Lucci to Bonney dominating against the Marine Soldiers, it is safe to say that One Piece episode 1127 was battle-centric, and Toei gave fans everything they had hoped for. Plus, it perfectly sets up the stage for the appearance of Saint Jaygarcia Saturn,...

One Piece is one of the most unexpected Shonen franchises, where shocking twists can happen the moment you least expect them. In the recent battle of Luffy facing off against Kizaru and the Goroseis at Egghead Island, a similar situation is unfolding.
The fight is definitely heating up, but from the manga, we already know that Kizaru will betray the Admirals and help Luffy out. Even though this was just a speculation, recently, Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece, quietly confirmed this in an Sbs Q and A.
Luffy will not need the help of Sanji in this case, as he will get Kizaru as an unexpected ally. His disloyalty has now opened doors to new possibilities and what it will mean for the Admiral’s future in One Piece.
Kizaru’s betrayal is confirmed in One Piece
Kizaru has always been very neutral in his conduct and morally...

When a former Special Forces soldier's son vanishes without a trace at the US consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, she illegally remains on the premises to search for him, unknowingly entangling herself in a dangerous conspiracy. She embarks on a nerve-wracking search for her son. The title Exterritorial is a word that means "existing or taking place outside the territorial limits of a jurisdiction." Obviously enough. Exterritorial stars Jeanne Goursaud as Sara, with Dougray Scott, Lera Abova, Kayode Akinyemi, & Annabelle Mandeng. This looks super cheesy and so generic, yet another Netflix streaming action movie that'll be forgotten a week after it debuts. // Continue...

The second season of One Piece has wrapped filming with old and new fans of the franchise alike waiting to see where Monkey D. Luffy's (Iñaki Godoy) journey takes him next. Based on the manga by Eiichiro Oda, the live-action adaptation of One Piece arrived in 2023 and established itself as a massive success for Netflix. Key to the show's success on the streamer was the authenticity of its characters, and none delivered on his role quite like Japanese actor, Mackenyu, who plays Roronoa Zoro. From the iconic green hair to his unique multi-sword fighting style, Mackenyu embodied Zoro perfectly from the very beginning. So, how did that come about?
Zoro is arguably one of the most beloved anime and manga characters there is. So there was understandably some skepticism surrounding the authenticity of his adaptation. However, Netflix's One Piece properly squashed those fears, and Mackenyu has revealed the secret behind this successful portrayal.

There is a lot of anticipation among fans of the popular manga, One Piece, regarding the second season of Netflix's live-action adaption of the story. Filming on Season 2 has already wrapped, so fans can look forward to an announcement regarding a release date sometime soon...we hope. Monkey D. Luffy's (Iñaki Godoy) and his desire to become the King of the Pirates is key to the One Piece storyline, and so is his Devil Fruit power, Gomu Gomu no Mi. Season 2 will have to grapple, not only with the storyline, but the outlandish scenes that accompany the manga. Central to that will be the arrival of the Zoans, the newest type of Devil Fruit users, who are known for their ability to transform into other creatures.

Netflix has released a new behind-the-scenes video from the production of One PieceSeason 2 that unveils a fan-favorite character heading to the pirate adventure series. Based on Eiichiro Oda's record-breaking manga, the Netflix adaptation plans to keep a trend established by the first season after the production got upgraded for Season 2, which recently wrapped filming in Cape Town, South Africa.
Ty Keogh, who plays Dalton during the Drum Island arc, answered a few questions about the upcoming season of One Piece. His character, a brave warrior that becomes an ally for the Straw Hats, is a Zoan-type Devil Fruit user that is able to turn into a giant human-esque Bison. Although Arlong was done practically in the first season, some speculated that a towering figure like Dalton's Zoan form would have to be done with CGI, just like how Tony Tony Chopper is expected to be computer-generated. In a recent interview with Numero, Skylar continued to hype up the next installment of Netflix’s live-action One Piece series, teasing fans to anticipate more leveled-up action sequences and bigger sets. “I obviously can’t say much, but what I can say is that this season is wild,” he said. “The whole production is really attempting to do something that I don’t think has ever been done on TV before. The second season of the Netflix live-action adaptation by manga creator, Eiichiro Oda's works might have wrapped filming, but the show hasn't secured a release date yet. Netflix's live-action One Pieceadaptation loses its showrunner.

It’s also been A Lot. So I'm stepping off the Going Merry to take a break and focus on myself and my mental health."

Another of the main creative forces behind Netflix's One Piece live-action adaptation is jumping off the Going Merry after Season 2 wrapped production. Matt Owens, who originally co-created and served as co-showrunner on the series with Steven Maeda has decided to step back to focus on his mental health. With his decision announced on Instagram, the main creative duo who spearheaded the effort at Netflix to adapt Eiichirô Oda's long-running manga is no longer involved, or, at the very least, is no longer calling the shots. Only Percy Jackson and the Olympians writer and co-executive producer Joe Tracz remains as showrunner for post-production after he took over for Maeda last April.

Netflix continues to fight the good fight for no-nonsense action movie magic, with the streaming giant having now revealed the release date for what could easily be their next action thriller smash hit. Now all set to be unleashed next month, Exterritorial sounds like it could be the next Taken, as a former Special Forces soldier is forced to resurrect her particular set of kills after her son mysteriously goes missing.
According to Netflix, the German action outing, which has been made in conjunction with Constantin Television (Dear Child), is due to be released on the streamer on April 30, 2025. Written and directed by Christian Zübert, Exterritorial promises to be as gripping as Liam Neeson’s action movie magnum opus, and you can check out the official synopsis for Exterritorial below.
“On a visit to the US consulate in Frankfurt, the young son of former Special Forces soldier Sara (Jeanne Goursaud) suddenly disappears without a trace.

Season 2 of the Netflix live-action adaptation of One Piece finished filming on 4 February 2025. No official release date has been announced yet, but we know it will pick up at the Loguetown Arc. The promotional photo on their social media accounts gives us a glimpse of the Straw Hats’ new looks.

Plenty of new characters will be introduced in One Piece’s Season 2. For me, I’m most looking forward to Lera Abova’s performance as Nico Robin. However, for the Loguetown Arc, Smoker, Tashigi, and Monkey D. Dragon will be in the limelight.
Smoker and Tashigi will be played by Callum Kerr and Julia Rehwald. Rigo Sanchez is set to play Luffy’s father and the supreme commander of the Revolutionary Army. However, to people who are only watching the live-action series, the perception of him will be very different and confusing.

One Piece star Taz Skyler teased the potential release date window for the highly-anticipated second installment of the hit Netflix series. This comes after the live-action adaptation had just recently wrapped up its Season 2 production last December, after seven months of filming in South Africa.
During a recent interview with The Direct, Skyler was asked about the ongoing online speculations regarding the release date window for One Piece Season 2, after Netflix excluded the show’s from its 2025 slate. Netflix's One Piece hasn't made many changes to Eiichiro Oda's story, but adding a new scene featuring Nico Robin should be one live-action tweak season 2 does include. Among the many new faces joining One Piece season 2's cast will be Lera Abova as Nico Robin, otherwise known as Miss All Sunday. A member of One Piece's Baroque Works organization, Robin is technically a villain when she debuts, but ultimately joins Luffy's crew as a member of the Straw Hat pirates and transforms into a beloved protagonist.
With One Piece season 2 focusing on Baroque Works ahead of adapting the Arabasta arc in season 3, Nico Robin's role for now will be serving as the sidekick of Crocodile, the Baroque Works' leader. If Netflix's live-action adaptation follows the manga, Robin will mostly cut a shadowy figure in the background, occasionally stepping out to help further her employer's goals. While...

The wonderful City of Angels, Los Angeles, has been engulfed in an enraging fire once again, but this time the range and danger are much more than anything seen before. In the midst of all this, One Piece live-action actress Lera Abova, who will play the role of Nico Robin, the archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates in the upcoming season, has expressed her concern for the residents of LA and the suffering they have been going through because of the disaster. She has shared some posts on her social media showing concern for the victims.
This is truly a tough time, and Abova’s concern about the dangerous wildfires might help in some sort of way by spreading the word.

While One Piece is hailed for its foreshadowing aspect, it stands out through its protagonist, Luffy. Apart from its stellar visuals and splendid storytelling, the series is exemplary in outlining profundity in more ways than one.
This is especially true for its portrayal of law, order, and justice. And though it is glossed over as an adventure series, it brilliantly captured the essence of freedom. This is evident in its parallels with Hajime Isayama’s manga.

Rather, Oda’s hero is a manifestation of Eren’s vision in Attack on Titan. His liberation, views, and rebellion tie well with the ever-present tyrannical rule of the World Government.
On top of that, Oda perfectly encapsulated a spectrum of hues with his representation of justice and liberation. In this manner, both series are of paramount importance in their writing of realism and dystopia.
