After setting company ratings records in 2017, Ion is decking the holiday halls for the 10th year in a row, setting a lineup of six original movies to air between November 25 and Christmas Day.
The half-dozen new titles, led off by Christmas Cupid’s Arrow, will join more than 25 library movies in a weekend rotation the network bills as “Bring the Holidays Home.” Last year’s holiday lineup, the company said, delivered Ion’s highest household ratings ever, averaging 887,000 viewers in primetime. The most popular title, A Prince for Christmas, posted a 1.2 million average.
“The holiday movie season has become a significant part of Ion Television’s programming strategy, and it continues to prove its value to both the network and our advertisers,” said Brandon Burgess, Chairman and CEO of Ion Media.

Title: Somebody Up There Likes Me Director: Bob Byington Starring: Keith Poulson, Nick Offerman, Jess Weixler, Kevin Corrigan, Kate Lyn Sheil, Stephanie Hunt, Marshall Bell, Jonathan Togo, Megan Mullally A delightfully deadpan relationship comedy that plays like a cross between something from Quentin Dupieux and Jared and Jerusha Hess, “Somebody Up There Likes Me” is an imaginative paean to world-weary nonchalance. Directed by Bob Byington, this subversive little treat flirts with absurdism but never tips over into hipster posturing in chronicling a bunch of domestic ennui and professional unhappiness that its characters pretty much seem to all shruggingly accept. Comedy duo and real-life couple Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally have been reliable presences in supporting roles for numerous years now, with Mullally gaining fame with her role as the boisterous Karen Walker in Will & Grace, and Offerman similarly finding mainstream success as the taciturn Ron Swanson in Parks & Recreation. The two have also appeared together in numerous movies, taking on a variety of roles, the latest of which is Somebody Up There Likes Me. Not to be confused with the 1956 Paul Newman classic, this feature is written and directed by Bob Byington, and co-stars Keith Poulson, Jonathan Togo, and Kevin Corrigan. The first trailer for the movie has now been released, and can be seen below.

Ron Swanson's got nothing on Nick Offerman's newest dry-tongued sour puss, Sal.
In this trailer for Bob Byington's SXSW-selected "Somebody Up There Likes Me," the "Parks and Recreation" star trades in his uber-conservative mustached wit monster for a middle-aged barkeep with a dismal sense of self and a sick salt and pepper goatee.
Offerman co-leads the indie comedy alongside Keith Poulson as an existential food and beverage-slinger whose protege is clueless in matters of the heart. "The last five years I wake up and it's like something fast-forwarded beyond my control," he pouts.
As Poulson's Max enters a second unwise marriage, though, it's Sal whose got a front row seat to witness the carnage and offer up glib anecdotes like "You know how you're old? When you sneeze and lose a tooth." Heh, good one.

"You know how you know when you're old?" Tribeca Films has debuted a trailer for an indie comedy called Somebody Up There Likes Me, written and directed by Bob Byington. I haven't heard of this film before, but it stars a few charming actors, including funnyman Nick Offerman in a fatherly role, as well as the lovely Jess Weixler (seen in Teeth, Alexander the Last, The Normals). This looks like a rather charming, funny, quirky indie romantic comedy of sorts, filled with all kinds of pretty faces. Keith Poulson is the young male lead, joined by Stephanie Hunt, Kate Lyn Sheil & Jonathan Togo. Take a look, have fun! Here's the official trailer for Bob Byington's Somebody Up There Likes Me, in high def from Apple: Nick Offerman (seen on "Parks & Rec", 21 Jump Street) stars in this smart, subversive comedy about a man, his best friend (Keith Poulson), and the...

After 10 seasons, it's time for David Caruso to turn in his sunglasses. CBS has cancelled CSI: Miami, the first show in the CSI franchise to end.
Starting in 2002, the TV series follows a South Florida team of forensic investigators who often use advanced scientific methods to solve crimes. The current cast includes Caruso, Adam Rodriguez, Emily Procter, Eva La Rue, Jonathan Togo, Omar Benson Miller, and Rex Linn.
The ratings for CSI: Miami have declined over the years. Season nine averaged a 2.1 in the coveted 18-49 demographic with 9.85 million total viewers. That was down from season eight by 13% in the demo (vs a 2.4 rating) and down by 5% in viewership (vs 10.39 million).

Bob Byington’s "Somebody Up There Likes Me" is about a guy who doesn’t grow up. In fact, he doesn’t even age over the film’s span of about three decades in his life. It may have something to do with a mysterious briefcase, the origins of which are only ever suggested by animated cloud interludes and the ethereal implications of the title itself. But that hardly matters, so long as Max (Keith Poulson) keeps bumbling through marriage, money and mortality.
Max is, at first, a disgruntled waiter at a generic steakhouse alongside best friend/only friend Sal (Nick Offerman). Over time, each man will have affections for new girl Lyla (Jess Weixler), but the freshly divorced Max gets there first – in fact, he impulsively proposes to the mealy-mouthed breadstick-muncher not long after they meet and she nonchalantly accepts.
Writer-director Byington then takes one of several five-year leaps forward into the narrative.

Tripp threatens him with putting the medal he receives for catching him between his forehead, after being taunted by Toller for taking so long for them to find him. Toller is remembered for the gruesome way in which he cremated his Vics. Horatio finally notices the plane is off course and the pilot, Capt Winston (Bo Kane) tells him he had to do it. Horatio tells him they had priority to Miami. That's what you get for using a private plane and pilot, what happened to police pilots. An altercation ensues between the crewman (Austin Priester) on the plane and Tripp is hit in the head. Toller releases his cuffs from the seat and escapes. Horatio has to choose between shooting the crewman or Toller.

Horatio (David Caruso), Ryan (Jonathan Togo) and Walter (Omar Miller) rush to a call out at a Cs where two people have been shot. The car of one of the Vic's crashes into a fire hydrant, so they must race against time to preserve whatever evidence they can, before it's washed away and destroyed. Horatio tries to stop the hydrant gushing out water and Ryan attends to the male Vic, as Walter covers the car, in desperation. Ryan notices the gun on the ground and shouts to Walter, who can't hear him. Why didn't Ryan just go for the gun when he saw it. As he makes a dash for the gun, it's swept into the storm drain. Ryan is angry he lost the gun. It went down the drain. Horatio: "It went down the drain." Not a very catchy or witty one liner from him. Come on writers you need to do better.

A man on the phone is attacked by an alligator in his pool. Horatio (David Caruso) and Ryan (Jonathan Togo) are on the scene pretty quickly. Ryan spots a blood trail and sees the alligator, which hasn't gone very far, after finding some meat used as bait. Horatio shoots the alligator dead, as is in his character, especially this season. "Horatio: "Welcome to South Florida." Natalia (Eva La Rue) believes the alligator was deliberately lured there, uh that's what the bait was for. Horatio finds someone tampered with the gate and so knew the code. Matthew, the Vic, (Patrick Heusinger) was rich and retired. The Cs and the house are processed. Delko (Adam Rodriguez) finds a torn piece of paper and Me Tom (Christian Clemenson) comments he hasn't seen anything like this and fancies himself as a bit of an alligator expert. Not to be outdone of course by Delko...

Horatio (David Caruso) has flowers on the front seat of the Hummer and asks Delko (Adam Rodriguez) to cover for him, he's "out of commission. He's got to say hello to someone. He's flagged down to help a woman found by the roadside. One hour earlier. The woman is at a restaurant with her friend, Marcie (Jessica Collins) and she wants her to throw a baby shower for her. It's a nightmare for Marcie as she can't have children of her own. They were both selfish, it was all about each other. The pregnant one is carjacked and beaten. Horatio: "I want all hands on deck. A man fishing attempts to prevent another from jumping off the bridge and calls for help. He's then shot at by a sniper. Delko (Adam Rodriguez) questions Brad (Geoffrey Blake) as if he's in charge all of a sudden. With Calleigh (Emily Procter) hiding behind the Hummer. Brad doesn't know the origin of the shots and is taken into protective custody. Shane (Collins Pennie) insists he wasn't going to jump. Horatio (David Caruso) points out that the scuff marks on his shoes will match the railings. Shane had to be involved somehow cos he wasn't shown for nothing. Horatio doesn't get a very good one liner this time either. Hey what's going on when he doesn't get to say something witty anymore. Thinning out in that department then. Walter (Omar Miller) and Ryan (Jonathan Togo) process the boat and Walter gets one up on Ryan for a change - good...

Apparently these season 9 episodes aren't being shown in the order listed, which is really frustrating! An explosion at a sugar refinery provides the team with this week's case and Horatio (David Caruso) and Delko (Adam Rodriguez) are on the scene to rescue and pull out two people alive. There's one Db, whom Me Tom (Christian Clemenson) refers to as "fragile." He states it looks like a bomb went off in there and he wasn't that far wrong. The blast shattered his bones. Nina (Leela Savasta) recognizes his watch and IDs him as Eduardo (Bryan Cid Borreo) her fiance. Walter (Omar Miller), Ryan (Jonathan Togo) Natalia (Eva La Rue) and Delko process the refinery. Horatio finds the presence of sugar dust, which in excessive quantities could cause an explosion. Natalia says it's on everything. Horatio doesn't think it was an accident. Walter says there are regulations in place to prevent such...

CSI:Miami seems to be obsessed with celebrity and reality-based episodes, there's one in almost every season. Delko (Adam Rodriguez) patrols at a reality show: The Boroughs' party. He's on crowd control as there are five parades, so it was amazing he was able to call for back-up when Horatio (David Caruso) arrives. There's Gabe (Michael Carbonaro) from Queens, Tou Shea (Vanessa Lengies) from Brooklyn, advertizing her tanning spray, okay, publicizing it. Zachary 'Guns' Rittner (Matthew Florida) is from the Bronx. Fireworks go off, which Delko mistakes for gunfire. How long's he been on the job now. He notices a man in the crowd with a gun and aims at Courtney (Kristen Renton) who appears to be high or drunk and she falls from the balcony. Delko engages in a chase after the suspect. The best chase scenes are covered in CSI:ny and no one can beat our Flack (Eddie Cahill...

Ben (Jonathan Keltz) describes the scene to Ryan (Jonathan Togo) and Natalia (Eva Larue) both given the dirty jobs of analyzing the toilet. The judgements and recriminations were out in full force this week in Miami, with Delko (Adam Rodriguez) and Ryan (Jonathan Togo) deeming the suspected quarterback to be guilty even before the evidence was in. Yes you've guessed the one time Jesse (Eddie Cibrian) was needed around to be objective. With Delko coming up with the old, "guilty people run" line. So what was that he did back at the end of season 7 in the episode Seeing Red, when he came charging out in the car with his father and was shot at by Calleigh (Emily Procter). How wrong was he here and not so much as an apology or remorse for wrecking someone's life. The episode begins with Horatio (David Caruso) rushing back to the lab, with Starling (Roger Bart) repeating a quote from Hamlet: "Revenge delayed invites madness." Don't know if that was a jibe at himself or the CSIs wanting to bring him to book for the murders of his faculty members. Why didn't Delko (Adam Rodriguez) think about shooting out the window for air, instead of opting to carry out Calleigh (Emily Procter) and failing miserably in the attempt and dropping on top of her at one point. No, it was left to Horatio to save the day and them and for Natalia (Eva La Rue) to find Jesse (Eddie Cibrian). Also when last we saw them none of the CSIs had their lab coats on. And what happened to the lab extra in the green jumper who was propped about all over the place in the season 8 finale. They made...

20 minutes earlier: Calleigh (Emily Procter) agrees to meet Delko (Adam Rodriguez) for coffee and then follows him. See there's hardly any trust demonstrated between them. He admits he's working on the theft from the lock-up, only cos he was placed on the spot; and half a million dollars worth of heroin is missing. Delko tells Horatio (David Caruso) this is Sully's (Brad Leland) past case. Horatio suspects the bomb could have been for Delko. No one else knows what Delko was working on. Horatio: "She was our friend, let's not forget it." Horatio did have a relationship with her of sorts and as we know, anyone who has a relationship in this show has got to be killed off, or be a suspect. Delko only told Sully about it and no one else.

Women work-out at a gym. That was a conspicuous gym, who'd want to work out displaying themselves to any old pervert or weirdo. Not to mention voyeurism! And it was on the ground floor too, that's just inviting trouble. A man outside watches a woman leave and follows her. A 911 call is made reporting a murder about to occur right now, by what sounds like a man, at first. That voice was too mechanical, emotionless and monotone to be an actual voice.
