Emma Stone and Emma Thompson collaborated not too long ago for the hit Disney film Cruella. The pair famously played rival fashion designers, with Stone portraying the titular villain. But Thompson quipped that her character’s jealousy of Cruella Deville might’ve mirrored her own envy of Stone.
What Emma Thompson thought about working with Emma Stone Emma Thompson | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Thompson and Stone both had more than a good time doing Cruella. The feature saw Thompson’s ambitious fashion designer, Baroness von Hellman, taking Stone’s Cruella under her wing. The two characters would soon engage in a heated rivalry, both trying to come out on top in the fashion world.
Because of their fierce competition, Thompson’s Baroness spent much of the film being cruel to Stone. But Thompson asserted there were no hard feelings had between the actual actors. Thompson even had a good time playing nasty for a change.

A Conservative Party peer in the UK has been forced to apologize and pay damages to a University Challenge contestant who she accused of making a coded antisemitic attack via an octopus mascot and jacket supposedly emblazoned with the colors of the Palestinian flag.
Baroness Jacqueline Foster took to X today to apologize “for my part in posts made about” Melika Gorgianeh in the aftermath of the episode, which had caused a furore on social media as people believed the mascot and colors to be coded.
“I wrongly alleged that Ms Gorgianeh chose one of the most disgusting antisemitic symbols, a blue octopus as her team’s mascot which I held her responsible for,” said Foster. “I accept that these allegations were completely false and unfounded. I made a grave mistake in making those posts and I should not have done so.”

“Beneath the Rose” is a melodic, hard rock anthem, with sludgy guitars and raw, aggressive vocals.

During those sessions, the song never quite took off but once we began writing Stone, one of the first things I did was pull that main guitar riff out of retirement to see if we could breathe new life into the bones of this song.”

Mainstream pop culture-oriented content is going through an age of expansion, i.e., more importance is given to interconnected storytelling, world-building, crossovers, and meta-narratives. Studios executives are pushing the creators to come up with more ways to keep audiences hooked, not just with a singular entry but with the entire content library a certain intellectual property has to offer. Therefore, it is understandable that Paramount Studios wanted to introduce their version of a crossover with the beginning of the prequel Transformers live-action movie series as well.
In the recently released Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, after saving the world with his new Transformers friends in a globetrotting adventure, human protagonist Noah Diaz attends a job interview. To his surprise, the interviewer seems to know everything about his past and also about his recent deeds, and their conversation concludes with Noah being offered a job at the covert government branch known as the G.I. Joe initiative.

For G.I. Joe fans of a certain age, Conrad S. Hauser, aka Duke, is the G.I. Joe. Among the first of Hasbro’s revamped mail-away action figures, the character was created in 1983 as a descendent of the original G.I. Joe dolls. He’s also frequently been situated as the lead G.I. Joe character in cartoon shows, comic books, and finally Hollywood action movies.

The Apprentice has defended itself from viewer complaints that its latest episode was too “nasty”.
On Thursday (16 March), the reality series aired its penultimate episode, which shows the final five candidates receive a grilling from Lord Sugar’s trusty aides, including Claude Littner and Linda Plant.
However, viewers have complained that the episode, which is usually a fan favourite, was particularly harsh this year, with many saying they felt the contestants were being “bullied” by the interviewers.
However, a spokesperson for the series said in response: “The interviews round is more than just a normal interview. Its purpose is to help determine whose business plan has the potential to secure the £250k investment.
“As such, every detail must be thoroughly scrutinised and advisors will at times need to ask difficult questions. The stakes are high for candidates and emotions do run high as they want to secure a place in the final.

The Apprentice has angered viewers with its latest round of dreaded interviews.
Every series, the penultimate episode shows the final five candidates receive a grilling from Lord Sugar’s trusty aides, including Claude Littner and Linda Plant.
By the end of the episode, the candidates had been whittled down to just two.
This particular episode has regularly been considered a fan favourite among viewers – but viewers have complained that this year’s edition was far too harsh.
Joining Littner and Plant were Mike Souter and Baroness Karren Brady, who sits alongside Sugar in the boardroom.
Brady found herself at the centre of one of the episode’s most brutal moments. As Megan Hornby left her interview, which went dreadfully, she referred to Brady by her first name, to which Brady responded: “It’s Baroness Brady to you. My friends call me Karren.”

Mother Superior
A visually spectacular delve into the Gothic, Marie Alice Wolfszahn’s Forties-set horror tale Mother Superior follows a young nurse, Sigrun (Isabella Händler), as she enters the service of the physically fragile but otherwise formidable Baroness Heidenreich (Inge Maux). Sigrun is keen to explore the Baroness’ remote stately home in search of documents which might reveal the secrets of her own past in an orphanage. The Baroness also has an ulterior motive, and a not very secret Nazi past. The two women’s complicated relationship plays out against a richly detailed backdrop of the antique and the arcane.
It’s a film which knows how to take its time, and so it’s a surprise to meet the director, who bubbles over with enthusiasm and does not give the impression of somebody who usually takes life slowly. She’s just back from a trip to Finland, excited about...

The UK government has been accused of a “baffling” failure to capitalise on the thriving creative sector by the Lords Communications Committee as it warns the UK risks being overtaken by other countries.
In its 67-page At risk: our creative future report, the committee has called on senior figures within Westminster to recognise the commercial potential of the sector, which were worth £115bn pre-pandemic, more than the aerospace, life sciences and automotive industries combined and is estimated to support 4m jobs by 2030.

Matthew Perry has branded conservative broadcaster Peter Hitchens a “complete tool” after the pair debated drug reform on Newsnight in 2013.
The Friends star discusses the topic in his memoir Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, in which he writes frankly about his struggles with drug addiction over the years.
Perry used his platform to advocate for the introduction of drug courts, which aim to decriminalise non-violent addicts and offer them treatment instead of a prison sentence.
In 2013, Perry was asked to debate the topic on the BBC programme Newsnight, which he recalled being moderated by “a cranky guy called Jeremy Paxman who was famous for being rude to guests”.
The other panellists were Baroness Meacher, an advocate for drug policy reform, and “a complete tool called Peter Hitchens”.

Crossovers are a popular event in any video game. Introducing characters and gear from fan-favorite franchises into an established game is a great way to keep things fresh and the playerbase engaged, especially when the crossover features more than just a few rewards. The best crossover events feel like they’re seamlessly adding to the core experience with new adventures and things to see.
Case in point, game developer Joycity is teaming up with Hasbro to bring characters from the legendary multimedia titan G.I. Joe to the popular mobile game Gunship Battle: Total Warfare. The game tells the story of a naval captain trying to stop the terrorist group known as the New World Armada from obtaining nuclear weapons and kickstarting World War III. What better allies could gamers ask for than a crack team of soldiers with anti-terrorist experience like G.I. Joe?
