- Mitch Rogers became interested in special effects work in 1989 while working at a costume and magic shop in Dallas, Texas. Through this avenue, Mitch began to develop his skills in the area of life-casting and began to apply that knowledge to basic prosthetic work and fabrication of life-like human props. Mitch then went on to work in the art bronze world creating complex silicone and urethane molds for sculpture.

- In 1995 Mitch was seriously injured in a flash powder explosion. The explosion nearly severed 3 of his fingers and took most of his hearing. Lubbock, Texas television news casters reported this event as a terrorism related explosion and remarked that there was a "brick in the yard." This event resulted in the name "Brick In The Yard" being adopted for "Brick In The Yard Productions.".
- Created a minor incident in Garland, Texas when a car that was dressed for an fatal accident scene for "Dusk" was discovered by Police before it could be towed by the production. Local Police were sure it was a murder scene and reacted accordingly, impounding the vehicle as evidence.
