With the recent announcement of Jason Momoa’s role as Lobo, he became the first major actor from the Dceu to land a role in James Gunn’s new universe. Gunn has worked on the Dceu project, The Suicide Squad, and is likely to bring his frequent collaborators to the new Dcu.

“Your thuggish jabs… are ill advised”: Lynda Carter Became The Sworn Enemy of James Cameron After His Anti-dc Comment
Image
A difference of opinion is always inevitable when you’re working in an industry as big as Hollywood. Well, that difference resulted in a rift between veteran director James Cameron and iconic TV star Lynda Carter.

Gadot portrayed the role of Wonder Woman in the Dceu | Credits: DC Films

The differing opinions were created after the release of Patty Jenkins’ 2017 film Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot. After Cameron had some negative remarks for the movie, Lynda Carter made him her sworn enemy.

James Cameron thought Wonder Woman was a step backwards for Hollywood

The world was happy and in love with Gal Gadot’s portrayal of an iconic character set in the Dceu in Wonder Woman. After taking on the mantle, Gadot found worldwide fame and critical acclaim alongside the support of Lynda Carter who portrayed the role on American TV shows back in the ’70s.

“It was strange to see…”: Lynda Carter’s Brutally Honest Feelings About Gal Gadot Taking on the Wonder Woman Role
Image
If it weren’t for veteran actress Lynda Carter, the world might not have gotten an awesome portrayal of Wonder Woman in the mid-1970s and the rebooted character in 2016.

Donning the iconic costume and the Lasso of Truth back in 1975, Lynda Carter received worldwide fame for her role in Wonder Woman. However, Gal Gadot took on the mantle of Wonder Woman when she was cast in Zack Snyder’s Dceu back in 2016.

Was Lynda Carter okay with the casting of Wonder Woman?

Fans were in for a shock when Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman dropped from the sky to fight alongside Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck during the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Although an unknown face to the newer audience, people fell in love with her the moment they saw the heroic Amazonian princess.

We Weren’t the Only Ones Who Had to Endure Wonder Woman 2, Gal Gadot and Kristen Wiig Had it Even Worse: ‘It just stank’
Image
Wonder Woman 1984 was a heavily disappointing sequel from Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot after their super successful first film. While fans had a hard time sitting through the film, Gadot revealed that she didn’t have a great time on set either. The Wonder Woman actress and her co-star Kristen Wiig had to endure rashes on their faces and dive into stinky milk water for their roles.

Wiig played the role of the DC supervillain Cheetah, which required her to do some heavy action sequences like Gadot in full costume. The big-budget film was no smooth ride for either of the actresses, especially for Wiig who was suffering from a cold at the time.

Percy Jackson & The Olympians Hecate Explained (& Why Shes Called The Triple Goddess)
Image
Wrath of the Triple Goddess is officially on shelves, and the seventh Percy Jackson & the Olympians book revolves around a quest for the goddess Hecate. After the events of The Chalice of the Gods, Percy still needs two recommendation letters to get into New Rome University and Hecate gives him an opportunity to obtain a second one. All Percy and his friends need to do is watch the goddess' mastiff and polecat while she's away. This sounds like an easy task, but it quickly spirals into the usual life-or-death adventure.

Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson books are always introducing new figures from Greek mythology, and Hecate and her pets have intriguing backgrounds. This is why a new narrative surrounding the goddess is so exciting, though it may leave readers questioning how accurate Riordan's character is to the myths she's based on. The title of the newest Percy Jackson sequel may...

The Only Major Actors Still Alive From The Cast Of The 1970s Wonder Woman TV Series
Image
The 1975 TV series "Wonder Woman" is deeply beloved by dutiful Gen-Xers who watched it as children. The show's combination of silly action, funky music, and campy humor hit a sweet spot, presenting the title heroine as bold, strong, and capable, but also upbeat, happy, and capable of whimsy. Also, because lead actress Lynda Carter is so dazzling, many Gen-Xers may confess to having a crush on Wonder Woman at some point. The series was a hit, lasting 59 episodes over three seasons. Along with 1952's "The Adventures of Superman," 1966's "Batman," and 1978's "The Incredible Hulk," "Wonder Woman" was, for many decades, one of the most celebrated superhero TV shows ever made.

"Wonder Woman" began its life as a 1974 pilot starring Cathy Lee Crosby, as a reimagined version of the character. That pilot didn't fly, but ABC was eager to do something successful with the character and launched a second pilot...

“That’s nonsense, it wasn’t true”: Lynda Carter Vouched for Sandra Bullock to Play Wonder Woman After Debunking Claims That She Found Her Too Old for the Role
Image
Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman has, no doubt, been one of the most favorite characters from the DC Universe, and nearly everyone who has played her to date has been widely loved in the role. One of the actresses who played her was actress Lynda Carter, who turned out to be so greatly endearing to both fans and critics that she is closely identified with the character to date.

Being widely regarded as the most accurate Diana Prince, she gave her opinions on who the next person could be to carry on the superheroine’s legacy. Surprisingly enough, she was reported to have called Sandra Bullock “too old” for the role. However, Carter later on not only debunked these reports but also claimed she had even vouched for the actress to play the DC superhero.

Lynda Carter Says ‘Wonder Woman 3’ Was ‘Wonderful’ and ‘Important,’ but It Won’t Get Made Without ‘Pressure From Fans’: ‘I Don’t Know Why They Tabled It’
Image
Lynda Carter, who became a television icon as the star of the live-action “Wonder Woman” series from 1975 to 1979, delighted comic book fans when she popped up at the end of Patty Jenkins’ “Wonder Woman 1984” as Asteria, a legendary Amazonian warrior previously thought to be dead. The tease led many to believe a third “Wonder Woman” movie would unite Carter and Gal Gadot on the big screen, but the sequel was announced as dead in August 2023.

In a new interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Carter heavily suggested that she would’ve been back as Asteria had Jenkins and Gadot’s “Wonder Woman 3” taken flight at Warner Bros. She described Jenkins’ plans for the sequel as “really interesting, wonderful and about something important. Not just your typical thing.”

“I don’t think they want to do it unless there’s enough pressure from fans,” Carter said about the studio. “I just don...

“She’s not just a superhero”: Gal Gadot’s Dcu Co-Star Claims WB Making Huge Mistake With Wonder Woman by Only Focusing on Superman and Batman
Image
Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman made her debut in the Dcu in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and made a great impression on audiences. They loved Gadot’s charm and ease with which she portrayed the character. Her solo film in 2017 further proved that she was not a fluke and was born to play the character.

However, audiences did not enjoy 2020’s Wonder Woman 1984, and it seriously affected the reputation of the character. With James Gunn taking over the brand, the character was excluded from his plans for his new Dcu. Gadot’s co-star from Wonder Woman 1984 is lamenting the decision and questions the new Dcu for not recognizing Wonder Woman’s immense potential.

'I Don't Understand': Lynda Carter Calls Out DC Studios Shelving Wonder Woman 3
Image
Wonder Woman 3 appears to have been shelved by DC Studios, but Lynda Carter thinks there's a chance the movie could still get made.

After playing the DC superhero in the original Wonder Woman series, Lynda Carter made a surprise appearance in the Dceu with her post-credits cameo as Asteria in 2020's Wonder Woman 1984. There were plans for director Patty Jenkins to make a third installment of the movie series, and it was expected for Carter to return as Asteria, playing a much bigger role in Wonder Woman 3. However, with the Dceu having since collapsed, the project was reportedly nixed. In a new interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Carter reaffirmed that there's not much desire at DC Studios to make Wonder Woman 3, but she suggested that a strong enough fan demand could still make it happen one day.

‘Wonder Woman 3’ Won’t Happen Without Fan Demand And Outcry, Lynda Carter Says
Image
Lynda Carter didn’t have the Golden Lasso of Truth surrounding her. But what she said about a possible Wonder Woman 3 makes sense.

Carter spoke to Yahoo! Entertainment and said that she thinks the only way a Wonder Woman 3 will ever get made is if there’s a fan demand and outcry.

“I don’t think they want to do it unless there’s enough pressure from fans,” said Carter. “I just don’t think they have the mind to do it. And I don’t understand that, because it seems to me that Wonder Woman is different from other characters. She’s not just a superhero. Her whole thing is about peaceful solutions. She’s not aggressive to be aggressive. It’s a different story. It’s about inner strength, outer strength. I don’t know why they tabled it, because it’s a great franchise.”

10 Dceu Set-Ups That'll Never Pay Off Now
Image
Since James Gunn announced his plans for the Dcu in January, the DC fandom is ecstatic. However, not everything is perfect. While celebrating the new casts and projects coming their way, the fandom has also learned that most of the previous projects from the Dceu won't get a follow-up. Fans have had to say goodbye to many good things from the Dceu, which will be completely rebooted.

All the Dceu set-ups from the last decade won't amount to anything once the reboot takes place. Characters like Robin, Ted Kord, or even Darkseid may get a new chance in the Dcu, but it's too soon to know yet. These characters, as well as possible storylines like Knightmare and the Legion of Doom vs. the Justice League, will have to wait until the Dcu settles properly.

Quick Links What's In The Deck Of Many Things Boxed Set The Book Of Many Things Sourcebook Review How The Deck Works In Roleplaying & Narration Final Thoughts

2023 may well be known as the year Dungeons & Dragons wholly embraced chaos, and The Deck Of Many Things boxed set helps exemplify that. It seems like most of the year, D&d 5e has leaned into the strange and chaotic possibilities the Ttrpg can offer, with releases like Phandelver & Below: The Shattered Obelisk, Planescape, and now The Deck Of Many Things all allowing players to have fun in the mayhem of the multiverse. Of all of these, however, The Deck Of Many Things bundle may best illustrate just how fun all that randomness and chance can be in DnD 5e.

Based on the in-game item originally from Greyhawk, 5e's physical The Deck of Many Things is made up of over sixty cards...

The Flash Post-Credits Scene Breaks A DC Movie Tradition
Image
The Flash's post-credits scene breaks a long-running DC movie tradition by not setting up a sequel or introducing a new character. Previous DC post-credits scenes have left many unresolved story threads, which may never be paid off due to the upcoming Dcu reboot. The Flash's post-credits scene likely doesn't introduce the new DC Universe because it was written and filmed before Gunn and Safran took over.

The Flash only contains one post-credits scene, but the brief bit of extra content breaks a long-running DC movie tradition. The Flash was surrounded by a massive swirl of preconceptions and expectations before release, some reasonable and others less so. Though the movie was in development for several years and went through numerous changes behind the scenes during production, its eventual placement right at the end of the Dceu, combined with its story taking inspiration from the famous comics' event Flashpoint, seemed to be a perfect pairing.

10 DC Movie Cliffhangers We'll Never Get Answers For
Image
Several of DC's post-credits scenes and cliffhanger endings will never be addressed due to reboots, canceled sequels, and movie franchises that came to an end. DC’s movie history includes several franchises and standalone entries, not just the Dceu or Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. James Gunn’s new DC Universe means that multiple Dceu cliffhangers, including The Flash’s ending, will join other unresolved DC movie storylines.

The Dceu was DC’s first consistent live-action movie universe and saw dozens of superheroes and supervillains. With the Dceu now being rebooted into James Gunn’s new DC Universe, a significant portion of DC’s movie franchise will start from scratch, which is why there are so many Dceu examples on this list. From Tim Burton’s Batman movies to The Flash, here are 10 DC cliffhangers that will never be resolved.

As soon as fans listened to the song, they quickly began speculating that it’s about exes Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, who met in 2010 and dated until 2015.

Wonder Woman's Shield, Explained
Image
Wonder Woman was first introduced to the world in the pages of All Star Comics #8 in October 1941, followed shortly after by her first feature in Sensation Comics #1, released in January 1942. The character was an unqualified success who, alongside Superman and Batman, make up DC's "Holy Trinity." Her comic-book origins, far less scandalous than her real-life creation, remained unchanged for years: Diana was sculpted from clay by her mother, the Amazon Queen Hippolyta, and given life, accompanied by superhuman powers, by the Greek gods (a 2011 retcon identified Diana as the biological daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta). Her look has changed from time to time, but is most often linked to the classic attire of red boots, blue shorts with white stars, and a red bodice. The character's look is iconic, as are her weapons. The Golden Tiara, akin to a boomerang. The bulletproof Bracelets of Submission. The Golden Lasso of Truth.

Every Actor Who Has Played Wonder Woman in Live-Action
Image
Wonder Woman is arguably one of pop culture's biggest icons, with dynamic performances from a number of women who have taken up the mantle in live-action. The Amazonian warrior princess is known for her passion for fighting evil through the means of love, truth, and wonder. However, her characterization has been portrayed in different ways over the decades on screens big and small, and by a number of different Wonder Woman actresses.

Wonder Woman first appeared in All-Star Comics #8, published in 1941. She was created by William Moulton Marston, who credited his wife for inspiring her appearance, and their life partner, for inspiring her feminism. Just three months after her debut, Wonder Woman was given her very first feature in Sensation Comics #1. Following in the footsteps of Batman and Superman, Wonder Woman received her first live-action adaptation three decades after her initial introduction. Currently, it's unclear who will be the next...

Lynda Carter Celebrates Wonder Woman Day With Throwback Video
Image
Lynda Carter is celebrating Wonder Woman Day with a sentimental post featuring a throwback video from her time portraying the iconic hero. Created by William Moulton Marston and Harry G. Peter, the character of Wonder Woman/Diana Prince is one of the oldest figures in DC Comics, having first appeared in 1941. Since then, she has gained mainstream popularity through countless on-screen adaptations and merchandise, and while Carter's depiction was not the first attempt at bringing the character into a live-action space, it was the most successful, with the television series Wonder Woman debuting on ABC in 1975. The show, later transitioning to CBS, aired for three seasons and followed Diana through World War II as well as the then-present day.

Carter's performance as Wonder Woman is cherished by longtime fans, and the actress has been very supportive of the character's success in recent years. When discussing her initial thoughts on the...
