Michelle Lake(I)

Michelle Lake grew up in a middle-class Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York City. The daughter of Polish immigrant parents, Michelle wrote songs and poetry while growing up as a kid. Her father was a World War II veteran with post-traumatic stress disorder who drove a taxi at night. Lake made her acting debut in a TV commercial for a local milk company that was shot at her nursery school. Moreover, Michelle suffered from bulimia as a teenager and tried primal scream therapy at age 18. After finishing high school Lake went to college in New York City. Michelle quit college after a year and moved to Florida, where she tried to get a job working with dolphins and supported herself by working as a waitress before eventually returning to New York City in the mid-1970's. While back in New York Lake met an aspiring actor named Michael Masone, who had been in her high school class. Masone persuaded Michelle to appear in porn films with him. Lake worked as a fluffer girl on Inside Jennifer Welles (1977) and starred in the notorious hardcore loop compilation Keystone Porn (1976), which was made by the NYPD in a disastrous attempt to infiltrate the East Coast porn underworld. Moreover, Michelle also danced at the strip club the Melody Burlesk and wrote articles for Cheri magazine. In the wake of quitting porn Lake went on to write a romance novel, married a dolphin trainer, and settled down in Hawaii.
