High school is hell for people like Jenna Dewan’s put-upon character in the 2006 horror movie Tamara. The pathetic namesake doesn’t have any friends to call her own, and she spends most of her time daydreaming about her hunky teacher when she’s not playing with the dark arts. Now, Tamara thinks her life is finally starting to improve when her crush comes a-calling, but as things tend to go in these kinds of movies, the sudden attention isn’t real. No, someone is out to humiliate her. And like other wronged women in the horror genre, Tamara won’t rest until she gets her revenge.
Before Tamara Riley takes the stage as a violent vixen from beyond the grave, Dewan plays a smart yet frequently bullied girl at Hafton High School. The performance is convincing, quickly endearing her to viewers. Director Jeremy Haft’s movie then goes down...

After more than two years in development, a reboot of The 4400 TV series has been ordered by The CW. The network gave the remake a straight-to-series order, meaning that a pilot has not been produced.
Airing on USA Network from July 2004 until September 2007, The 4400 series stars Joel Gretsch, Jacqueline McKenzie, Mahershala Ali, Laura Allen, Patrick Flueger, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Chad Faust, Kaj-Erik Eriksen, Samantha Ferris, Jenni Baird, Brooke Nevin, Conchita Campbell, Karina Lombard, Billy Campbell, and Peter Coyote. The story begins as a mysterious ball of light deposits a group of exactly 4,400 people near Mount Rainer in Washington state. These people had all previously disappeared in a beam of light, starting as far back as 1946. None of them have aged since their disappearances nor do they have any memory of where they've been.

There are two interesting performances contained within Girl, an otherwise wholly uninteresting film. On the surface, this is just a B movie that you would find once upon a time in the discount DVD bin. At the same time, you have Bella Thorne doing some of her best work to date in the title role, as well as Mickey Rourke at his most menacing. Is that enough to make the flick worthy of the watch? Not at all, but it does give it some personality that’s otherwise lacking. Thorne’s fans will appreciate what she’s doing here, so they’ll be pleased, at least. The movie is a thriller, with revenge elements thrown in for good measure. When an unnamed young woman (Thorne) gets off the bus that’s taken her back to her small backwoods hometown, she has a goal in mind. Her plan? Confront and kill her abusive father.

They should have revived the American International or New World Pictures logo to distribute Chad Faust’s Southern Gothic noir. The film would have fit in perfectly paired as a ’70s-era double feature with the likes of Macon County Line and Jackson County Jail, best seen at a drive-in on a hot summer night. While Girl, starring Bella Thorne and Mickey Rourke, is not quite in that league, it’s nonetheless a slickly made, effectively atmospheric B-movie suspenser that marks a promising feature debut for its writer/director, who also plays a featured role.

Life has not been kind to the unnamed girl at the center of Chad Faust’s feature debut, “Girl,” Girl (Bella Thorne), as she is only ever known in the film, is an accidental vigilante, bent on exacting a justice that will do little to truly improve her life, beyond prolonging its pain for more years to come. It’s better than the alternative, however, and when “Girl” opens, even Girl already seems worn thin by the battle to come: in short, to kill her abusive father before he can kill her and her mother (Elizabeth Saunders).
Girl hasn’t been back to her hometown — a seedy Pacific Northwest hamlet named Golden, where the shine appears to have worn off quite some time ago — since she was six years old, when her dirtbag father (John Clifford Talbot) kicked her and Mama out, adding a grievous injury to Mama’s back for good measure.

There is a surprising amount to unpack given the simplicity of this grainy, high-contrast poster for Chad Faust's revenge mystery, Girl. The design immediate recalls brutally stark European arthouse pictures. At the same time it has a 'controversial' Disney channel starlet going 'dark and edgy,' which is now a time-honoured tradition in American Indie filmmaking. I hesitate to get into the bizarre contortions and the platform-economy sordidness of Bella Thorne's OnlyFans exploits, and so much of the nonsense that swirls around this singer-actor-performer who seems to have taken her screen handle from a 50 Shades of Grey novel, this is a poster column after all. However, it appears to be a somewhat conscious choice in the design here. Having her glammed down, intensity directed at...

"What's with this hatchet?" Screen Media Films has unveiled the first trailer for an intense revenge thriller titled Girl, the first feature film made by Canadian filmmaker Chad Faust. This recently premiered at the Cinéfest Sudbury in Canada, and it arrives on VOD at the end of November. Bella Thorne stars as young woman (only known as the "girl") who returns to her small hometown intent on killing her abusive father only to discover someone murdered him the day before... As the girl searches for answers, she uncovers a family legacy more dangerous than she'd imagined. This also stars Chad Faust, Glen Gould, Elizabeth Saunders, and Mickey Rourke. Kinda looks like the perfect greasy role for Rourke to play. Give it a look. Here's the first official trailer for Chad Faust's Girl, direct from Screen Media's YouTube: In Girl, a young woman (Bella Thorne) returns to her small hometown...

With the state of things these days, Fantastic Fest has gone virtual for 2020, and here are my thoughts on two of the films that helped kick off the festivities this week: Teddy, from the directing duo of Ludovic and Zoran Boukherma, and Girl, which features both Bella Thorne and Mickey Rourke.
Teddy: As someone who has a deep love for anything lycanthrope-related, I really enjoyed what Ludovic and Zoran Boukherma were able to do with Teddy. The film hits all the beats you’d expect from a coming-of-age werewolf story, but the directors come at these tropes in a very unique way, making Teddy a thoughtful and heartfelt examination of a young man who has lost his place in this world that also delivers up some gnarly body horror moments and a sizeable body count to boot.
The film follows the titular character (played by Anthony Bajon) who lives in a remote village in France.

An unexplained series of events occur on a Vegas tram; unexplained until the CSIs are on the case, that is. Nick (George Eads) returns from Hawaii after a seminar to find the joke's on him. The new boss, Db Russell (Ted Danson) lies on the tram floor and Nick thinks he's just a Db, which he is. Db by name, but not a real Db! Nick's reaction to his name, his initials is exactly what I thought when it was revealed who Ted was going to play in the show. Db as many know stands for 'dead body.' The others can only laugh and disappear. Nick isn't too happy to be the butt of their joke and he and Db don't really seem to hit it off - not like Nick and Ray (Laurence Fishburne). Two people were killed on the tram and three were injured. One Vic, Tom (Nathan Anderson) was stabbed.

Production has officially kicked off on Susanna Lo's 'Manson Girls'. The story which revolves around the girls who followed murderer and conspirator Charles Manson. Bill Moseley ('The Devil's Rejects') will star as Manson which seems like perfect casting to us and a whole host of stunning actresses will be joining him. Monica Keena ('Night of the Demons'), Laura Harring ('One Missed Call'), Heather Matarazzo ('Scream 3'), Stella Maeve ('My Super Psycho Sweet 16: Part 2'), Brit Morgan ('True Blood'), Tania Raymonde ('Lost'), Gillian Zinser ('90210'), Taryn Manning ('Hawaii Five-0') and the gorgeous Estella Warren ('Planet of the Apes') are all playing their parts in the story and no doubt looking damn fine as they do so. Keena (below) will be making her nude debut in the movie during...

A movie we've been covering exclusively on Bloody for almost a year now has finally gone behind cameras. Manson Girls, focusing on the female followers of cult leader Charles Manson, has quietly started production nearly a year after the project was announced. Susanna Lo is producing via her Slomotion Studios and directing from her own script, with Taryn Manning, Tania Raymonde, Monica Keena, Stella Maeve, Estella Warren, Chad Faust, Ron Jeremy, Eric Balfour, and Bill Moseley all starring, as previously reported in various stories here on Bloody. Manson Girls focuses on the period leading up to the 1969 murders of nine people. Manson and three followers were convicted in 1971 in the slayings. Lo told Variety that she's aiming to illustrate how and why the girls came under Manson's command.

Check out Wonder Woman in action ... and getting some action! Adrianne Palicki , who plays the sexy superhero, suited up last night in Hollywood to film scenes for the upcoming TV reboot -- where she showed off a different costume than the one released to the press earlier this month . The pleather blue pants appear to have been replaced with cotton, star-lined ones and the blue boots are now red, like Lynda Carter 's. When she wasn't running around on set, Palicki was getting cozy with Chad Faust -- who played her ex-husband on the short-lived TV show " Lone Star ." Last week, Palicki's on-screen love interest was cast for the show ... he'll be played by " Knight Rider " star Justin Bruening . Check out all the hot shots! Read more...

Is anyone surprised by this news? I mean, really? After Moseley’s turn in “The Devil’s Rejects”, it’s not overwhelmingly surprising that the genre vet would be tapped to play Charles Manson in Susanna Lo’s upcoming shocker “Manson Girls”. The film, which also stars Heather Matarazzo, Michael Monks, Laura Harring, Patti D’Arbanville, Estella Warren, Monica Keena, Stella Maeve, Eric Balfour, and Chad Faust, chronicles the adventures of a rich girl who finds herself mixed up in Manson’s zany shenanigans. Beyond that, details are extremely limited, though I strongly suspect that more information will come to light as the production progress. Although the subject matter is more than a little tired — feel free to count how many Manson-oriented films are collecting dust at your local neighborhood video store — the casting of Moseley as the notorious serial killer certainly gives this flick some much-needed intrigue. “Manson Girls...

The Devil’s favorite reject, Bill Moseley has been cast to play everyone’s favorite cult-leader Charles Manson in "Manson Girls," written and directed by Susanna Lo. Also starring Heather Matarazzo (Hostel: Part II), Michael Monks, Laura Harring (The Caller, One Missed Call, The Punisher), Patti D'Arbanville ("Rescue Me," "Nip/Tuck"), Estella Warren (Planet of the Apes, The Cooler), Monica Keena (Freddy vs Jason, Night of the Demons), Stella Maeve ("My Super Psycho Sweet 16: Part 2"), Eric Balfour (As the World Turns), Chad Faust (Descent, Nearing Grace, Tamara).Bill Moseley performance as Otis B. Driftwood in Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses & The Devils Rejects was spectacular, so it’s no surprise that he was chosen to portray Manson. Besides the obvious physical similarities between the two characters, they’re both crazier than shit house rats. Definitely looking forward to this one.Manson Girls is set to being filming this March in L.

I remember back when Lindsay Lohan ('Machete') was all set to star in Hong Kong director Susanna Lo's 'Manson Girls'. She was quickly replaced with Thora Birch ('The Hole', 'American Beauty') whom has also reportedly dropped from the project. Well it's lucky we still have a slew of hot female cast members including Laura Harring ('One Missed Call'), Monica Keena ('Night of the Demons'), Stella Maeve ('My Super Psycho Sweet 16: Part 2') and the sexy Estella Warren (below) who are all still on board. Of course the notorious Charles Manson role was still up for grabs. And it's to be filled by horror legend Bill Moseley ('The Devil's Rejects'). Eric Balfour ('Texas Chainsaw Massacre'), Tania Raymonde ('Lost'), Brit Morgan ('True Blood'), Jennifer Landon, Chad Faust, Patti D'Arbanville, Heather Matarazzo,...

Welcome to your Wednesday morning television briefing. It's official: Syfy has renewed drama Eureka for a fifth season. The news of the renewal--no surprise given the ratings and the creative resurgence of the series this summer--was announced by Mark Stern, Evp of Original Programming for Syfy and Co-Head of Content for Universal Cable Productions, which produces the series. “Eureka remains a steadfast performer for Syfy with its superb cast and perfect blend of drama, comedy and eye candy,” said Stern in an official statement. "Given what Jaime, Bruce and their entire team have done collectively to reinvent the show this year, we can't wait to see what's in store for season 5." (via press release) Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello is reporting that Chad Faust (The 4400) has been cast in a recurring role on Fox's upcoming drama series Lone Star, where he will play Harrison, the ex-husband of Adrianne Palicki's Cat.

The family of Adrianne Palicki's Lone Star character just got a couple new additions.
Most prominently, Chad Faust (The 4400, Trauma) will portray Harrison, the ex-husband of Palicki’s Cat Thatcher. As described by Fox, this individual is Cat's "mistake carried over from high school."
The character rides a motorcyle and cheated on Cat often throughout their marriage - but he returns to town early in the show's first season and wants another chance.
On Lone Star - a new series that premieres September 20 and is receiving strong critical buzz - James Wolk plays a con artist who wants to settle down. Thatcher is one of his two wives. Jon Voight is her father.
Meanwhile, newcomer Alexandra Doke has been cast as Grace, the seven-year-old daughter of Palicki's character.
