Junji Ito is a horror manga legend, with his works becoming iconic and infamous throughout the world. This is now the case in the realm of video games, with the mangaka noting how vicious one new adaptation turned out to be.

Dead by Daylight has had crossovers with numerous horror icons, and Junji Ito's works are now joining the ranks. The game will now feature characters and costumes based on his works, which will be used to terrifying effect. Even Ito himself was shocked by this, as in a recent interview and playthrough, he made sure to comment about just how terrifying these digitized renditions are.

The latest assault to the senses from horror manga master Junji Ito comes in the form of multiplayer horror action game Dead by Daylight . A collaboration with the artist officially went live today, introducing eight Outfits inspired by Ito's work over the years. Among the additions are Outfits taken straight out of Tomie , The Hanging Balloons and more. Tomie's inclusion, for instance, is a Legendary Outfit for The Spirit, while recurring character Soichi Tsujii inspired a Very Rare Outfit for The Trickster called Soichi's Party Clothes. The folks at Dead by Daylight studio Behaviour Interactive took a moment to speak with Ito about the collaboration and his reaction to the Outfits. After teasing fans back in November, Behaviour Interactive has unleashed their latest collaboration for Dead by Daylight, this time with acclaimed horror Manga artist Junji Ito! Available now, the Junji Ito Collection honors his catalog with eight outfits inspired by some of his most memorable characters. The Collection aims to offer long-time admirers a fresh way to experience Ito’s creations, while introducing an entirely new audience to his work.

The creepy creations of horror manga master Junji Ito have inspired their fair share of fashion collabs. Today we can add one more to the list, as Drop Dead Clothing teams up with Ito for a new collection of manga-inspired coordinates. After watching the first season of Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku , many fans may have questions about the nature of Gabimaru and Sagiri's relationship. That seems largely by design: the reality of their relationship is often presented as ambiguous or up-in-the-air throughout most of the series, especially considering Gabimaru is forced to question whether his wife actually even exists.

Admitting to one's feelings and embracing weakness are central themes in Hell's Paradise, and it is obvious after the first season that Gabimaru is in some way the source of Sagiri's own weakness. Similarly, Sagiri gives Gabimaru strength by both healing him and believing in him when he's at his lowest points. Whether that all equates to true love has yet to be shown in the anime adaptation, but by the end of the series the truth of the matter does become a bit clearer.

Hell's Paradise follows a group of criminals chosen by the shogunate to go on a mission. These criminals are some of the most dangerous, ruthless, and brutal people in the entire world. They were chosen precisely for their formidable powers and merciless personalities.

While some characters were unfairly arrested, such as Nurugai, the show features many criminals capable of seriously disturbing actions. From vicious murder to cannibalism and even crimes of a sexual nature, Hell's Paradise is an R-rated anime for a reason.

Spoilers ahead for Hell's Paradise!

Though much of the anime Hell's Paradise is riddled with mystery and intrigue, the key characters, the Yamada Asaemon, are fairly straightforward and transparent. Responsible for supervising the search for the Elixir of Life, most of these samurai-like warriors may be single-minded in their intentions, but Japanese history reveals that there is a lot more hidden behind the scenes. In fact, the real-life inspirations behind this clan answer the one question about them that has not been answered.

Taking on a rather realistic look at feudal Japan and the historical icons of samurai and ninjas, it's not a surprise that critical lore surrounding the Yamada Asaemon was a part of the nation's actual history. Specifically, dating back to the late Edo Period, the Yamada Asaemon was a real clan name that grew into infamy as their practices and customs changed in the eyes of society.

Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku has been streaming on Crunchyroll for a few months, with nine episodes available on the streaming platform. The show features a wide range of complex, and at times, despicable characters. The amazing character development of the show has quickly earned these characters the love of the fandom.

The death-row criminals and their assigned Yamada Asaemon are on a mission to retrieve the Elixir of Live from Shinsenkyō. The island is a dangerous and unpredictable place that has already viciously killed several beloved characters, such as Tenza.
