Mumbai, Aug 7 (Ians) The Pro Kabaddi League announced the ‘Elite Retained Players’, ‘Retained Young Players’ and ‘Existing New Young Players’ for the milestone Season 10 on Monday.

With a strong group of players retained, each of the franchises are all set to build their units further in the upcoming Player Auction and celebrate the tenth season of the Pro Kabaddi League through high-octane contests.

A total of 84 players were retained across 3 categories with 22 from the Elite Retained Players (Erp) category, 24 in the Retained Young Players (Ryp) category and 38 in the Existing New Young Players (Enyp) category. The non-retained players, which include star players such as Pawan Sehrawat and Vikash Kandola will go under the hammer at the Pkl Season 10 Player Auction from 8th-9th September 2023 in Mumbai.

Mumbai, July 28 (Ians) Over the last nine seasons of Pro Kabaddi League, many players have gone on to become role models and Anup Kumar is one such name, who has become a household name.

As the Pkl is on the cusp of completing its landmark tenth season this year, the Mvp award winner in the inaugural season — Anup — expressed that the league has given the kabaddi players an identity.

“Many people have money, but it’s not only about money. A player’s identity is made through his performance and nature. And Pkl has given us an identity. Today, we are recognized when we walk in public places. Being recognized by people has been the biggest change in my life,” said Kumar.

Anup, who scored 527 raid points in 91 matches, also spoke about the pressure the players felt ahead of the inaugural season in 2014.

New Delhi, July 1 (Ians) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated the Indian team for reclaiming the Asian Kabaddi Championship title after beating Iran 42-32 in the final at the Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Seokdang Cultural Center.

Busan (South Korea), June 30 (Ians) India reclaimed the Asian Kabaddi Championship title after beating Iran 42-32 in the fina at the Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Seokdang Cultural Center on Friday. This was India’s eighth title in the last nine editions played so far while Iran won the title once, in 2003.

India trailed Iran in the first five minutes of the game. However, a couple of tackle points by the defenders and successful raids from Pawan Sehrawat and Aslam Inamdar handed Iran their first All-Out of the match in the 10th minute.

India kept building pressure on the Iranians and produced another All-Out and at the end of the first half, India led the final period by 23-11.

All-rounder Mohammadreza Chiyaneh tried to make a comeback for the Iranian side in the second half with a two-point raid followed by a super raid that helped inflict the first All-Out on India in the 29th minute.

Aslam Inamdar, who made an impressive debut against Korea on Tuesday, got his second super 10 of the tournament and was once again the top-scorer in the match. Parvesh Bhainswal led India’s charge in defence.

A fan of basketball and warm weather, Lee is hopeful that his stint with the Adani Gujarat Giants in India will help him move closer to realizing his dreams of donning the national team colours and eventually making his way to the Asian Games.
